    Times Now Navbharat SD channel to be launched on 1 Jan 2022

    Mumbai: Times Network has announced that Times Now Navbharat SD channel is slated to launch on 1 January 2022. The announcement was made during the second edition of Times Now Summit on Wednesday which was graced by union home minister Amit Shah.

    Hindi news channel Times Now Navbharat HD went live in August followed by Hindi business news channel ET Now Swadesh in October. Amit Shah formally launched Times Now Navbharat at the event and wished Times Group success in their future endeavours.

    The Times Now Summit 2021 was organised around the theme of celebrating India at 75, shaping India at 100. “For well over a decade and a half Times Network has pioneered developing informed opinion amongst India’s influencers,” said Times Network managing director and chief executive officer MK Anand, in his welcome address. “The last two years have been a forced pause that have helped us rethink, review our options and reset our gameplan. Completing 75 years seemed like the right time to contemplate what we can be at 100. Considering the tantalising options and possibilities the next 25 years look like it can make all the difference.”

    He added, “After retaining No 1 position in English news with Times Now, we launched our first Hindi news channel Times Now Navbharat HD in August followed by Hindi business news channel ET Now Swadesh in October. Both the channels are doing well. Now in January, Times Now Navbharat will be launched in SD version which will make it available to the masses across India.”

    ET Now, ET Now Swadesh announce special programming for Diwali

    Mumbai: Business channels ET Now and ET Now Swadesh have unveiled an exclusive programming lineup for 2, 3, and 4 November on the theme ‘naya saal, nayi shuruat.’

    The two channels have announced a three-day special programming that will feature interactive and engaging content that celebrates India’s diverse business communities and brings dedicated expert advice on stocks, markets, wealth creation ideas, investment insights and more.

    “Diwali Mela” features eminent industry voices including Hiranandani Group of Companies managing director Niranjan Hiranandani; Popley Group director Rajiv Popley; Ikea India chief commercial officer Kavitha Rao, and Big Bazar CEO Kamaldeep Singh, amongst others who will share the most updated information on market trends during Diwali season. The show will air on 2 November starting at 5:30 p.m.

    “The Money Show Special” is a personal finance show on ET Now featuring market experts including Kotak AMC MD Nilesh Shah and Feroze Azeez, helps viewers to plan their savings and spending during the Diwali. It will air on 2 and 3 November at 2, 3, and 7 p.m.

    “Diwali Laxmi” is a special show that will air on both channels on 3 and 5 November. This show will host a mix of mythologists, tarot card readers, numerologists and best of the market experts and answer viewers’ questions on business, money, life and share market.

    “Dhamaka Duo” is a show that will air on both channels on 4 November starting at 9 p.m. It will showcase a candid interaction between investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor.

    “Muharat Day” is a one hour special program that will air on 4 November from 6 p.m onwards. The show will air on both channels and will bring a special coverage of the live trading session.

    The channels have also curated special features including “StartUp Central Special” and “Brand Equity Diwali Special” on ET Now, “Kuch Meetha Ho Jaaye” and “Commodity Dhanteras Special” on ET Now Swadesh.

    On 2 and 3 November, ET Now Swadesh has launched an on-air contest ‘Diwali Dhamaka’ where the channel will post one question related to stocks and markets every hour between 8 a.m and 4 p.m.  Participants can enter the contest by selecting the right answer and sharing it via SMS to the number flashing on their screens. Five participants with the maximum correct answers through the day, will win digital gold worth Rs 5000 and one bumper winner of the day will be offered an opportunity to get portfolio management advice from market expert Nilesh Shah, said the channels in a statement.

    Broadcasters kick off Diwali celebrations, announce special programming

    Mumbai: This Diwali festival, broadcasters have announced a strong line-up of shows to win a significant share of TV viewing that will take place over the four-day long weekend starting from 4 November. Ranging from marquee reality shows to blockbuster films, TV channels have left no stone unturned to attract eyeballs.

    General entertainment shows

    Star India network will air beloved programs such as “Dance+” season six on Star Plus, “Bigg Boss Diwali special” on Star Maa and Star Vijay, mythological series “Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki” on Star Bharat, “Me Honar Superstar Jallosh Dancecha” on Star Pravah and “Comedy Stars” on Asianet.

    Zee Tamil will air a one-and-a-half-hour special of “Olimayamana Ethirkalam” on 4 November at 7 a.m. This will be followed by “Diwali Special Pattimandram” at 9 a.m. This will be followed by a special two-hour episode of “Survivor- Naanga Vera Maathiri” at 10:30 a.m and special program “Mega Thala Diwali”  at 4 p.m.

    Viacom18’s regional entertainment channels will entertain viewers with Diwali specials that celebrate the themes of the festival. Colors Bangla will air “Sangeet Er Muhajuddho” where the theme for this weekend will be a piano special. It will also air episodes of the fiction series “Mon Mane Na.”

    Colors Tamil will present fiction shows like “Amman 2,” “Abhi Tailor,” “Sillunu Oru Kaadhal” and the channel’s acclaimed shows “Enga Veetu Meenakshi” and “Idhayathai Thirudathey 2.” On the non-fiction front, there will be engrossing performances on its show “Dance vs Dance” season two and a special music show “Voice of Legends.”

    Colors Marathi channel will air special episodes of “Bigg Boss Marathi” and air special episodes of its fiction shows “Jeev Maza Guntala” and “Raja Ranichi Ga Jodi.”

    Zee Café, &Flix and &PrivéHD will air some of the most beloved Korean dramas on TV including titles such as “Boys Over Flowers,” “Descendants Of The Sun,” and “Bread, Love And Dreams” on the weekends.

    Movies

    On Star India network’s movie channels blockbusters like “The Big Bull,” “Mimi,” “Hungama 2,” and “Bhuj: The Pride of India” will air on Star Gold. Hollywood hits such as “Disney’s Frozen 2,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” “The Empty Man,” and “A Welcome Home Christmas” will be telecasted on Star Movies.

    &pictures will showcase the premiere of Rana Dagubatti’s “Haathi Mere Saathi” on 7 November.

    Zee Tamil will air the Dhanush starrer “Karnan” on 4 November at 12:30 p.m and the world TV premiere of “Dikkiloona” at 6 p.m.

    Tamil movie channel Zee Thirai has lined up the crime thriller “Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban” on 3 November at 7 p.m and “Ka/Pe Ranasingam” on 4 November at 7 p.m.

    Colors Tamil has announced a line-up of films that will be telecast every day starting from 1 November at 1:30 p.m. These include “Uththaravu Maharaja,” “Meendum Oru Mariyadhai,” “Chasing,” “Magamuni,” and “Devadas Brothers.”

    Times Network’s English movie channels including Movies Now, MN+, MNX and Romedy Now have also announced a power packed movie line-up for Diwali. Some of the movies that will be featured include “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Spiderman: Far From Home,” “Zombieland: Double Tap,” “Rain Man,” “Raging Bull,” “Irma La Douce,” and “Fly Me To The Moon.”

    Kids’ entertainment shows

    POGO will premiere their new show “Krishna Aur Kans” and air special episodes of “Smashing Simmba” “Titoo” and “Shaktimaan.” Cartoon Network aired “The Tom and Jerry Show” Dusshra special on 18 October and will be airing fresh episodes of the program during the festival weekend.

    Mumbai: Times Network movie channels Movies Now, MNX, Romedy Now, and MN+ have announced a special programming lineup for Diwali.

    Movies Now will air films like “XXX: Return of Xander Cage,” “Quantum of Solace,” “Bumblebee,” “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen,” and “Men In Black: International” at 9 p.m every night. It will also air films like “Die Another Day,” “Apocalypto,” “Sherlock Holmes,” “Spectre” and more on weekdays at 11 p.m. 

    On 4 November, the channel will bring the biggest blockbuster superhero films like “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Spiderman: Far from Home,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “Transformers: The Last Knight.”

    MNX will air films like “Source Code,” “The Tuxedo,” “Zombieland: Double Tap,” “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” “Walking Tall,” and “The World is Not Enough” every day at 9 p.m.

    Romedy Now will telecast the films “13 Going on 30,” “Monte Carlo,” “Marmaduke,” “Fly Me To The Moon” starting at 11 p.m every night. It will also air films such as “The Hustle,” “French Kiss,” “The Vow,” “Zookeeper,” “Where’d You Go, Bernadette” and more on 4 and 5 November starting at 8 a.m onwards.

    MN+ will air films such as “Irma La Douce,” “The Comfort of Strangers,” “Company Business” and more every night at 11 p.m. On 4 and 5 November, it will showcase “Bright Nights,” “Rain Man,” “The Internship,” “The Terminal,” “Erin Brockovich,” “Birdman,” “Raging Bull” and more from 9 a.m onwards.

    NTO 2.0: Times Network publishes new RIO

    Mumbai: Times Network has published its reference interconnection offer (RIO) issued under telecommunications (broadcasting and cable) services interconnection (addressable systems) regulations, 2017 for all distribution platforms. The new RIO will be effective from 1 December onwards. 

    The tariffs for TV channels mentioned in the RIO adhere to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) new tariff order (NTO) 2.0.

    Times Network owns and operates 13 channels including its flagship news channels Times Now, ET Now, Mirror Now, Times Now World HD, Times Now Navbharat HD, and ET Now Swadesh. Its entertainment offering includes music channel Zoom, English film channels Movies Now, Movies Now HD, Romedy Now, MN+ HD, MNX, and MNX HD. The broadcaster is offering eight bouquets under the new RIO.

    The implementation of the new tariff order 2.0 is on hold as broadcasters under the aegis of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) have challenged the Trai order in the Supreme Court. The final hearing on the matter is scheduled for 30 November.

    Mumbai: Times Network on Tuesday announced its partnership with Yupp TV. 

    As a part of the association, the broadcast network is set to launch its Hindi channels Times Now Navbharat and ET Now Swadesh in the US, Canada and key international markets.

    “We are thrilled to expand our content portfolio by introducing our recently launched Hindi news channels to our global viewers on Yupp TV,” said Times Network chief operating officer and executive president Jagdish Mulchandani. “Our best-in-class entertainment and English news channels are strongly positioned in over 100+ countries and we are now excited to present compelling news content in Hindi language for viewers across international markets.”

    Yupp TV is one of the world’s largest internet-based TV and on-demand service provider. With 25,000 hours of entertainment content catalogued in its library, it brings a diverse range of South Asian content with more than 250 TV channels, over 5000 films and 100+ TV shows in 14 languages.

    Nikunj Garg appointed as editor of Mirror Now

    Mumbai: Times Network on Thursday announced the appointment of Nikunj Garg as editor of Mirror Now. He will report to Times Network managing director and chief executive officer MK Anand.  

    Garg will lead the editorial mandate for Mirror Now and closely work with the channel’s business and leadership teams to drive the channel’s growth agenda, besides continuing his role as overall head of input and news-gathering at Times Network, said the statement.

    With a broadcast journalism career spanning two decades, “Nikunj brings sharp insights, political intelligence, judgement, and accuracy in his reportage,” it added.

    “Nikunj has been one of our key assets and has significantly contributed to Times Now’s leadership through his action-oriented news reportage,” said MK Anand. “I am confident that Nikunj’s in-depth knowledge, expertise, and experience will help the channel’s growth plans in serving its mission, ‘You First’.”

    Garg has been associated with Times Network for over a decade, covering national political and international high-profile stories for Times Now. He is known for investigating and breaking powerful stories including Bofors’s alleged middleman, Ottavio Quatorocchi’s arrest in Argentina, arrest of an Indian diplomat in Pakistan for spying charges in 2010, revealing the identity of lone surviving terrorist of Mumbai 26/11 as Ajmal Kasab and confirming his arrest, IPL match-fixing scandal in 2013, breaking important government decisions on Covid-19 pandemic and government’s action on former CBI director Alok Verma amongst others.

    Mumbai: Times Network has launched its Hindi business news channel ET Swadesh on Monday. 

    The channel has unveiled its brand manifesto ‘Badlo Badho Desh Ke Saath’ and a special brand film that captures the brand genesis was released across the network channels and its social media handles.

    The launch event was graced by India’s eminent policymakers and India Inc leaders including union minister for housing and urban affairs and minister of petroleum and natural gas Hardeep Singh Puri; union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari; union cabinet minister for women and child development Smriti Irani; ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, and Kedia Securities managing director Vijay Kedia among others.

    Mumbai: Times Network’s Hindi business news channel ET Now Swadesh will be inaugurated by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 4 October.

    The channel has unveiled its editorial team and programming line-up ahead of the launch.

    The editorial team of ET Now Swadesh will comprise a team of seasoned financial and business journalists including Mihir Bhatt, Pradeep Pandya, Kavita Thapliyal, and Priyanka Anand, led by Nikunj Dalmia as managing editor. ET Now Swadesh will offer content that empowers, engages, and educates viewers with financial knowledge to weave their growth into India’s success story. The channel leads with a powerful proposition ‘Badho Desh Ke Saath’ and promises to be a catalyst of growth, energising every discerning Indian to rise with India, said the statement.

    Mumbai: Times Network is set to launch its Hindi business news channel ET Now Swadesh on 4 October. The network has launched a promo film for the new channel on its newly created YouTube page.

    The news broadcaster has unveiled a logo and tagline ‘Badho Desh Ke Sath.’

    “We are thrilled at the launch of our second Hindi news offering, ET Now Swadesh and I am confident Nikunj will lead this new mandate to its glory and success, and further raise the bar for the Hindi business news category,” said Times Network managing director and chief executive officer MK Anand.

    The network had launched its first Hindi news channel Times Now Navbharat in August.

    Last week, the network appointed Nikunj Dalmia as the managing editor of the new channel. “With a unique content offering that is focussed on empowering viewers with the knowledge that will enable them to be part of India’s growth story, ET Now Swadesh will sharply differentiate itself from other players in the Hindi business news category,” said Dalmia.
