    India Today’s Ashish Bagga is new NBA president

    MUMBAI: News Broadcasters Association (NBA) has elected India Today Group chief executive officer (CEO) Ashish Bagga as the president. The news was announced at a board meeting held earlier this week.

    Bagga replaces former ABP News Network CEO Ashok Venkatramani following his exit from the channel on 4 November. Venkatramani was appointed as the president of NBA in September 2016 at the ninth annual general meeting where Bagga was elected as the vice-president.

    Times Network MD and CEO M.K. Anand will replace the Bagga’s role as the vice-president, while newly elevated New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) group CEO and executive vice chairperson K.V.L. Narayan Rao has been elected as the honorary treasurer.

    Bagga, Anand and Rao also serve as the board members of NBA.

    Other board members of NBA are — TV18 Broadcast chief executive, news, and group editor-in-chief Rahul Joshi, India TV chairman and editor-in-chief Rajat Sharma, Zee Media group CEO Bhaskar Das, News24 Broadcast India chairperson and managing director Anurradha Prasad and Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing whole-time director M.V. Shreyams Kumar.

    Currently, NBA has 23 news and current affairs broadcasters (59 news and current affairs channels) as its members.

    India Today’s Ashish Bagga is new NBA president

    MUMBAI: News Broadcasters Association (NBA) has elected India Today Group chief executive officer (CEO) Ashish Bagga as the president. The news was announced at a board meeting held earlier this week.

    BARC now rates five English business news channels; Aaj Tak retains numero uno position

    MUMBAI: The Broadcast Association Research Council (BARC) has introduced the viewership of one additional channel in the top four player list of English business news channels. 

    The channel that has been added is — Times Networks’ Magic Bricks Now, is at the fourth place. The English business news space has also witnessed a substantial increase in the ratings of its channels.

    Whereas, in the English news genre, BBC World News made its way replacing News X. Times Now has further witnessed a significant rise in its viewership as compared to the previous week, according to week 45 of BARC data.

    Aaj Tak continued to remain at the number one position in the Hindi news space both in rural and urban markets. The channels in the Hindi news genre have observed increase in the ratings.

    CNBC Awaaz dominated the Hindi business news space followed by Zee Business. Both the channels have witnessed an increase in the ratings. 
    English News 

    Times Now observed a further increase in its ratings and remained the undisputed leader with 1052 Impressions (000s) as compared to 815 Impressions (000s) in week 44. CNN News18 grabbed the second slot with 497 Impressions (000s) while NDTV 24×7 took the third position with 323 Impressions. India Today Television with 269 Impressions (000s) and BBC World News with 227 Impressions (000s) took the fourth and fifth position, respectively.

    CNBC TV18 stood at the number one position with an increase in ratings from 333 Impressions (000s) in week 44 to 454 Impressions (000s) this week. ET Now was at the second spot with 236 Impressions (000s). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime continued to be at the third position with 71 Impressions (000s). Magic Bricks Now entered the top 5 channel list at the fourth place with 31 Impressions (000s) followed by BTVi on the last spot with 23 Impressions (000s).
