    PerformAce snares Tania Kundnani as product business head

    MUMBAI: This postgraduate diploma holder in marketing and sales from Jaipuria Institute of Management has traveled a distance in her career over the past 19 years with her motto being “I like challenging myself.”

    Tania Kundnani today announced on Linkedin that she has been hired as business head of martech agency PerformAce based in Gurugram and founded in 2023 by Saurabh Gaur.

    She began her full time career at The Times of India, Bangalore as an assistant manager key accounts where she stayed for nearly three years. From there she shuttled between Mumbai and Delhi  first as a regional  manager west  ( focus)  and  senior manager  First Post  at web18 and Mobile18. Then she transferred to Quintillion Media as regional manager (west) for a year, then Scoop Whoop Media as regional manager -west &  south, again for a year.

    Following these postings, she had two-year long stints each with Times Internet (regional manager west &  south)  and Hotstar (digital sales), before staying for periods less than a year at Mad Influence (business manager west) and Aditya Birla Capital (digital manager).

    Her last four jobs were in Mumbai and then she shifted back to Gurugram to work with PublLve where she stayed for a year and four months, when she got the offer to join PerformAce earlier this month.  Her focus throughout has been on selling – either solutions or services or content a- client management and business development.

    At PerformAce – which has products like Audience X, NativeHub, Vision TV, Canvas and AdVance – she has been given the responsibility of developing the business for the last product.

The awards will be presented during a grand ceremony scheduled later this month in Lucknow, promising an evening that celebrates the zenith of sporting achievements.

    Mumbai: Noted TV news personality Rahul Shivshankar, who joined Network18 as a consulting editor on Monday, has started his innings at the network with a column on news18.com.

    The article titled, ‘Bharat’s Question for the G20: Are Some Global Concerns More Equal Than Others?’, explores the prioritisation of global concerns by the G20, emphasising that not all critical issues receive equal attention. The article calls for a more balanced approach, stressing the need to address various global concerns, including social and economic disparities, with equal urgency to achieve a fair and sustainable world order.

    A news industry veteran with nearly three decades of experience in print and television journalism, Rahul cut his teeth in the profession as a reporter for The Times of India. He was one of the youngest leader-writers for the edit page of the newspaper. When Times Now launched, he was a part of its founding team. He then went on to become the face of the channel as well as its editor.

    At Network18, he will add a strong digital dimension to his body of work and add further lustre to the star cast of anchors, reporters, editors, and commentators.

    Rahul has received critical acclaim for his coverage of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror attacks. He was invited to contribute to an anthology of investigative narratives about the attacks published by Roli Books. He has also authored a soon-to-be-released book on the 2024 Elections, commissioned by Penguin Random House.

    NEW DELHI: With more than 425 million people reaching out to read a newspaper every morning, India is one of the top consumers of the print news industry globally. Despite the growing onslaught of the digital medium, print in India has held its own. It is still considered the most credible source of information by many. 

    However, the ongoing lockdown in the wake of a contagious COVID-19, the industry is facing massive roadblocks, including distributors denying delivering papers, and lower manpower in the logistics department. 

    But to make sure that the loyal patrons of many print dailies don’t miss out on their daily dose of information, MyGate, one of the topmost mobile-based visitor and community ecosystems in the country, is delivering free e-papers to them.

    MyGate COO and co-founder Abhishek Kumar told Indiantelevision.com: “The newspaper is a big part of the morning for most of our users. As they are not let into most of our gated communities during the lockdown, we wanted to figure out a way to deliver them their newspaper safely and provide access with minimum effort.”

    He added, “The pandemic has affected newspaper circulation across India. Although websites provide news, many readers still prefer reading the newspaper. Hence we have tied up with many leading publications.”

    MyGate is neither charging the publications or the users for these services and has tied up with several leading players including The Times of India, Indian Express, Deccan Herald, Deccan Chronicle, Financial Express, Loksatta, Prajavani, and Jansatta. 

    The service is benefitting 1.6 million homes that MyGate is present in across 17 cities in India.

    Kumar is elated at the splendid response the initiative has been getting and says that he will continue to deliver the services till the lockdown gets over.

    ZMCL COO Rajiv Singh steps down

    MUMBAI: Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) COO Rajiv Singh has stepped down from his role, with 28 February set to be his last working day, the company has notified the BSE. He will relinquish his duties as a board member on 31 January 2019.

    Singh joined Zee Media from Network18 where he was senior VP (business head) of News18 since August 2014. Prior to joining Network18, Singh was general manager, Middle East at Tribal Fusion, an online advertising network owned by Exponential Interactive.

    Singh has previously worked with Khaleej Times Online, Hindustan Times, Dainik Bhaskar and The Times of India, helping revitalize the media brands.

    Based on recommendations of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee, Vishwapati Trivedi, lAS (Retd.) has been appointed as additional director in the category of non-executive independent director with effect from January 24, 2019. 

    Punit Goenka has also been appointed as additional director in the category of non-executive non-independent director with effect from January 24, 2019.

    MUMBAI: FCB India is the only Indian advertising agency that walked away with a Yellow Pencil at the D&AD Awards 2018. 

    FCB India won a Yellow Pencil for The Times of India campaign, #NoConditionsApply, which invoked a revolution, in the Community Experience category. 

    The campaign has been lauded both nationally and internationally and was the most awarded at Goafest 2018, where it won 12 Abbys (four gold, five silver and three bronze metals). The campaign has also been recently shortlisted at One Show and is among the top three finalists at New York Festivals.

    Condolences pour in after senior scribe Padgaonkar’s demise

    MUMBAI: Eminent personalities poured out their grief through social media after the passing away of the senior journalist Dileep Padgaonkar. The former editor of the Times of India died of renal failure this morning at the Ruby Hospital in Pune at the age of 72.

    Padgaonkar began his career in journalism at the age of 24 and joined the Times as its Paris correspondent after receiving a doctorate in humanities from the Sorbonne in June 1968. He served as its editor for six years from 1988. Recently, he was among the Kashmir interlocutors appointed by the UPA.
