    DSPORT to Telecast “The Masters” from Augusta

    MUMBAI: DSPORT, a premium sports channel of Discovery Communications, will telecast the year’s first Major Championship in professional golf-The Masters, for the second year running in India. The legendary tournament now in its 83rd edition, will tee off at its home, the Augusta National Golf Club course in Georgia, USA, on April 11, 2019. All four rounds leading up to championship day on Sunday, April 14, 2019, will be broadcast LIVE on DSPORT.

    USA’s Patrick Reed slipped on the traditional Green Jacket, presented to the winner of the tournament, last year, in what was his first Major win. Winners of the last four Masters Tournament, have all been first time Major winners.

    The legendary Jack Nicklaus still holds the record for most Masters wins with six titles while Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer have won four times each.

    Four Indians have played The Masters so far with Shubhankar Sharma being the latest to join the elite group when he accepted an invitation to play in the 2018 edition.

Traditionally the only Major which is an invitational tournament, The 2019 Masters presents a small but talented field of the world’s top professional golfers. Keith Mitchell became the latest to get a Masters invitation after his win in the Honda Classic last week.

    This year’s Masters will also see the par-4 fifth hole, known as Magnolia, lengthened by a further 40 yards

    Drishyam Films to kick-start ‘The Masters’ series with Sriram Raghavan

    MUMBAI: Drishyam Films will be hosting screenings and interactions with noted filmmakers, cinematographers, editors and producers titled as The Masters. The monthly series is an effort to give the audiences and film buffs a unique and enriching cinematic experience. 

     

    The series will kick-start with the screening of Raman Raghav and will be followed by a master class by director Sriram Raghavan. The two-part made for video series will be introduced by filmmaker and director Atul Sabharwal. The sequence comes from the year 1991 based on the true story of a serial killerThe series will outlay the successful investigations of the Stoneman murders that took place in the 1960s, drawing from official police case files.

     

    The screening will take place on 21 October, 2015 at PVR Citimall Andheri at 8 pm.

     

    “This is a one-of-a-kind initiative by us to reinvent the way master filmmakers interact with their audiences as well as aspiring filmmakers. We are sure that this will be an exciting opportunity for both to have a lively and fruitful exchange every month,” said Drishyam Films CEO Shiladitya Bora.
