The Family Man all set for second innings on Amazon Prime Video

NEW DELHI: Amazon Prime Video’s acclaimed series The Family Man season 2 is all set to premiere on 12 February, the showrunners announced in a brief clip. Starring Manoj Bajpai, Samantha Akkineni and others, the new season promises to offer up another gripping mystery for the audience’s viewing pleasure.

The Family Man season one released in September 2019 and was a runaway hit. The show was applauded for its direction, performances and writing. It is an edgy, action-drama series, which tells the story of a middle-class man, Srikant Tiwari, who works for a special cell of the National Investigation Agency. The series explores Srikant's tight-rope walk as he juggles his secretive, low paying, high-pressure, high-stakes job, and being a husband and father. This is as much a satirical take on the geopolitics of the region as it is the story of a middle-class guy who is a world-class spy.

This time Srikant, while struggling to balance his personal and professional life, will be pitted against a new nemesis, Raji played by Samantha Akkineni. Replete with twists and turns, the upcoming season will see Srikant embarking on a new mission as ‘This Time, No One is Safe’.

The other members of the cast include Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Seema Biswas, Darshan Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja, Shreya Dhanwantary, Shahab Ali, Vedant Sinha, and Mahek Thakur.

Produced by D2R Films, the much-awaited show will launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.

Amazon Prime Video unveils upcoming Originals line-up for 2020

MUMBAI: Amazon Prime Video unveils upcoming content slate with 14 Indian Original titles, including a mix of new series and returning seasons of popular Indian Amazon Originals.

The preview video offers viewers a glimpse into 13 other upcoming titles, including new scripted series such as The Last Hour, Bandish Bandits, Dilli, Paatal Lok, Gormint, Mumbai Diaries – 26/11, fresh unscripted formats including Sons of Soil – Jaipur Pink Panthers and Comicstaan Tamil.

The platform with already hit Originals to also come up with its consecutive seasons this year. It plans to roll-out the second seasons of Mirzapur, Four More Shots Please, Breathe and The Family Man, along with the third season of Inside Edge.

The diverse line-up highlights the creative powerhouses behind these titles, including Kabir Khan, Ali Abbas Zafar, Nikkhil Advani, Raj & DK, Farhan Akhtar & Ritesh Sidhwani, Reema Kagti, Rangita and Ishita Nandy, Mayank Sharma, Amritpal Singh Bindra, Amit kumar and Himanshu Mehra to name a few.

The launch of these titles were revealed during Amazon’s chief executive officer Jeff Bezos’ recent visit to Mumbai, commemorating Prime Video’s 3 years in India.

Amazon Prime Video in 2019: ‘The Family Man’ most watched; ‘Jack Ryan’ most loved

MUMBAI: As 2019 comes to an end, Amazon Prime Video releases its yearly report card on the most loved and binged shows on its platform. The OTT platform, this year launched multiple Amazon Original series like Made in Heaven, Four More Shots Please, One Mic Stand and The Family Man.

With Manoj Bajpai’s digital debut on OTT platform, The Family Man became the most-watched Amazon Original in India to date, a press statement said. Similarly, other Indian Originals – Four More Shots Please!, Made In Heaven were among the most-watched shows in India in 2019.

In the international category, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan returned to Prime Video for its second season was most loved one by the members and had the biggest global premiere of any original.

In its year-ender press statement, the digital platform said, “Prime Video India is now watched across the length and breadth of the country in more than 4,000 towns and cities of India.”

Meanwhile, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel became the most awarded Amazon Original series ever with a total of 16 Emmys, 3 Golden Globes, 5 Critics Choice and 3 SAG Awards in 2019.

‘The Report’ had the biggest global premiere of any Amazon Original movie this year, the statement mentioned.

Besides English, Prime Video is now available in 9 Indian languages Indian languages viz. Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi and Bengali.

Similarly, the platform mentions that significant selection of Prime Video content now features show descriptions and subtitles in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

Amazon Prime Video confirms the second season of ‘The Family Man’

MUMBAI: Following the phenomenal success of Amazon Original Series – The Family Man, Prime Video has announced that it has greenlit the second season of the show. Season 2 of The Family Man pits Srikant Tiwari against a new, powerful and avenging adversary and offers an exciting, gripping and action-filled storyline while exploring relatable themes of home, belonging and estrangement.

Season 2 also marks the digital debut of South Indian superstar, Samantha Akkineni, known for her captivating, critically acclaimed performances. Synopsis:

Amazon Original Series The Family Man follows the journey of Srikant Tiwari a middle class man who lives his faced paced life with his wife and children in Mumbai. Prime Video releases first look of new Amazon Original Series, The Family Man, shot on OnePlus

MUMBAI: Amazon Prime Video today released the first look of its much-awaited Amazon Original Series The Family Man, in the form of a character poster shot on a OnePlus smartphone. Marking a first of its kind reveal, this association is an extension of the long-standing partnership between OnePlus and Amazon.

The first official character poster features Srikant Tiwari – the lead protagonist, played by Padma Shri Awardee and National Award winner Manoj Bajpayee, shot exclusively on a OnePlus smartphone. Created by the dynamic duo of Krishna D.K. and Raj Nidimoru, Amazon Original Series The Family Man is set to release this September, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video across 200 countries and territories. The trailer for the show releases September 5.

In addition to the first look poster, OnePlus will also be setting up interactive billboards across India that audiences can engage with using the camera on their smartphones to access exclusive virtual content about the show.
