    MUMBAI: Eleven teams, five continents, eight countries and all leading up to one grand prize. Yes, it is the multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series The Amazing Race. AXN India, the most preferred channel for English entertainment, brings to you the most awaited “The Amazing Race season 26, 27, 28”, 6th February onwards, every Mon-Fri at 9PM. One of the most successful and longest running reality TV series, The Amazing Race redefines competition and the zenith of human efforts to attain triumph.

    Hosted by Emmy Award-nominated host Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race S26 will have 11 teams of dating couples (six existing couples and five blind date teams who met for the first time at the start of the race) race from one destination to the other for the grand prize. At every destination, each team will have to compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when they are able to pull through the hurdles, will they learn of their next location.

    That’s not all! This season expands over a distance of 35,000 miles (56,000 km) including visits to cities like Japan, Thailand, Namibia, Germany and for the first time Monaco. Teams who are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning The Amazing Race and the $1 million prize!

    AXN to roll out The Amazing Race Asia online race

    MUMBAI: AXN is rolling out The Amazing Race Asia Online Race, an interactive online competition that gives viewers a chance to taste the action of the race. Contestants will have to decipher clues and execute challenges in the race to the grand prize, just like teams in The Amazing Race Asia.

    The Amazing Race Asia Online Race is launched to further connect with viewers of The Amazing Race Asia, slated for broadcast on 9 November 2006. The online race is a manifestation of AXN’s commitment to deliver a 3600 entertainment experience for its viewers.

    Contestants will have to search for clues and weave their way through a web of challenges, including tasks like assuming the role of an Amazing Race cameraman chasing contestants through the cities, a memory game and more.

    The Amazing Race Asia Online Race is played in teams of two and the goal is to race from checkpoint to checkpoint online. Each team will have to complete a special task in order to get the clues to the next checkpoint.     Registration for The Amazing Race Asia Online Race is open and registration would close on 5 November 2006. The race will run in two legs. The first leg will be held from 6 November 7 pm to 9 November 7 pm. Participants have to navigate and complete all the checkpoints in the specified sequence within this period to qualify for the next leg of the race.

    The second leg will be held on 11 November, where all eligible participants have to log in from 12 pm onwards in the final race to the finishing line where the grand prize of USD$2,000 awaits the winner. Results will be announced on 13 November 2006.

    CBS brings back online extension of reality show The Amazing Race

    MUMBAI: US broadcaster CBS has announced that it will bring back its online extension of its reality show The Amazing Race on its site.

    Finish Line: The Amazing Race Internet Talk Show hosted by former E! News Live correspondent Peggy Bunker and former racer Jon Weiss returns on CBS.com tonight 1 March. As had been reported earlier by indiantelevision.com AXN is organising a local version of the show for Asian audiences.

    From 15 March, AXN is on the lookout for participants to join the show. Ten to 12 teams will be selected to participate in the race, which will be produced for a 13-episode television series.

    Also, CBS Finish Line will highlight never before seen footage from this season’s race around the world and interviews with teams the day after they’ve been eliminated. The show will also feature interviews with racers from previous seasons who offer insight into what went wrong for the latest team. In addition, Amazing Race fans will get a sneak preview of the following week’s edition and will get the chance to call into the show and talk with their favourite teams.
