  • Abby Awards 2017 shortlists to be available for review

    MUMBAI: The iconic and pioneering Creative Awards – Abby 2017 has set another benchmark in transparency and efficacy. After receiving the highest ever number of creative entries, the first round of the prestigious Abby awards judging is presently on in multiple locations. The shortlists selected by the esteemed jury panels will progressively be uploaded on www.abbyshortlist.com

    The Advertising Club president Raj Nayak said, “Abby’s are the most prestigious national award for excellence in communication. We have left no stone unturned to make our judging process transparent and responsive. Uploading the shortlist entries for feedback is a step towards facilitating greater transparency and inclusivity.”

    Any further comments about what could be inspired work etc. could be sent within five days of the shortlist appearing, along with supporting documents, to the Advertising Club (adclub@vsnl.com) marked to the Chairman Awards Governing Council. No correspondence would be entertained after this. Only correspondence submitted with an original name and email id would be accepted. After Audit screening the feedback received could be put up to the jury in the second round of judging.

    ABBY Awards 2017 is to be held at Goafest 2017 on 6, 7 and 8 of April. The awards adjudged by a renowned jury panel will see inspiring campaigns brought alive in the period from 1 January 2016 to 31 January 2017 being celebrated by the entire fraternity.

    MUMBAI: Conceived and curated by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and The Advertising Club, the awards will recognise and honor Six Champions of Excellence at the Goafest 2017.

    “It is for the first time ever that the industry has an award dedicated to acknowledge and salute visionary advertisers who have taken the leap of faith and invested resources, ensuring that “Great ideas transform into Great advertising.”

    Speaking about instituting the new awards, The Advertising Club president Raj Nayak said, “We believe that this initiative will plug a very important white space in the process of celebrating excellence in advertising. The advertiser’s product or service is the raison d’etre for advertising and their role in inspiring good advertising is imperative and must be celebrated.”

    AAAI Nakul president Chopra added that “these awards celebrate clients who motivate and encourage their agencies to push the creative envelope and create winning campaigns. They also acknowledge clients who invest in meaningful relationships with their agencies.”

    “The presentation of this award at GoaFest makes our festival more complete and comprehensive. Now we have all the people playing an instrumental role in bringing alive the magic we call advertising, assembled and recognized in one place,” said Goafest chairman Ashish Bhasin.

    Nominations for the awards are invited from Agencies for Champions of Excellence, and will be judged by senior members of the Awards Governing Council of the Abby awards. The entry should mention the name of a senior member of the advertiser team who could be considered for this high honor. It should include a note of not more than 500 words explaining why the individual was deserving of this award. The entry should be signed by the NCD or CEO of the Agency and sent to the AAAI (Please mention email id) before 31 January 2017.

    Multiple entries are permitted. There is no entry fee.

    MUMBAI: The Advertising Club and Advertising Agencies Association of India have announced the Awards Governing Council for the Abby’s at Goafest 2017. Ad veteran and industry leader Ramesh Narayan, founder of Canco Advertising has been once again appointed the Chairman of the AGC.

    “The Abby’s are the Oscars of Indian advertising. The Awards Governing Council has a wealth of experience and expertise and I feel privileged to lead such an august panel.     MUMBAI: The Advertising Club has appointed Madison World groyup CEO Vikram Sakhuja as president of EFFIES 2016. Chitralekha Group president and publisher Mitrajit Bhattacharya will be the co-chair of EFFIES 2016.

    Speaking of Sakhuja’s appointment, The Advertising Club president Raj Nayak said, “EFFIES has emerged as a coveted industry award that lauds campaigns and individuals delivering landmark brand solutions. Vikram has been an essential part of EFFIES 2015 and was instrumental in ensuring the awards success last year. I am delighted that Vikram will be at the helm of the prestigious awards this year too.     Raj Nayak re-elected Advertising Club president

    MUMBAI: At the annual general meeting of The Advertising Club held in Mumbai today, the members unanimously re-elected Colors CEO Raj Nayak, as its president. Raj had replaced The Social Street chairman and co-founder Pratap Bose on 16 September last year.

    Over the past year, Raj has injected new dynamism into the Ad Club. A top notch sales professional, he has expanded the membership of the Club by initiating a drive last year which saw many a fence sitter, taking up it full time membership. Its management committee members say that it has had financially the most successful year under his stewardship. Hence, his re-election was unopposed and a bit of no-brainer.

    The CEO of Viacom18 Hindi GEC Colors has had strong links with industry initiatives over the past few years. He has been associated with several industry bodies right from the Indian Broadcasting Foundation and the International Advertising Association.
