    10 digital evangelists decode the digital mantra at The Advertising Club’s third edition of D:CODE

    Mumbai: Leaders from different digital domains, spanning publishers, marketers, new age digital companies, and creative and media agencies, gathered on 26 August at The Advertising Club’s third edition of D-CODE: The Annual Digital Review 2022 in Mumbai.

    The evening kicked off with tech professional turned stand-up comic turned compere for D-CODE 2022, Anshu Mor, who welcomed the attendees with a humorous anecdote narrating his real-life resignation story.

    Welcoming the attendees, The Advertising Club president Partha Sinha, emphasised how digital has become a game-changing medium for brands over the course of the last 10–15 years.

    Dentsu Creative CEO Amit Wadhwa kicked off the event as the first speaker, showcasing two case studies – ‘The Protest March’ and ‘Back Up Ukraine’—and prodded the audience to remember that we are still about people.

    S4 Capital CEO – APAC Michel de Rijk presented the Tata Tea example done for Independence Day and emphasised how the integration of data and content with technology enables agencies to create high-quality content overnight in just their own studio.

    ONDC chief business officer Shireesh Joshi articulated the vision and implications of the ONDC initiative for sellers, buyers, and every component and process along the e-commerce chain.

    Shedding light on the power of targeting and geolocation insights in campaigns, Jio Ads CEO Gulshan Verma enlightened the audience on the scale and solutions offered by JioAds.

    Talented founder P G Aditiya took the audience through the 55 steps that were involved in creating the Cannes 2022 Grand Prix winner, “The Unfiltered History Tour,” and emphasised the benefits of a long client-agency relationship in creating path-breaking campaigns.

    Following this was Disney+ Hotstar executive VP and CMO Sidharth Shakdher, who shared his thoughts on reversing the narrative of digital driving people apart by building a better consumer experience.

    YouTube India head of consumer marketing Mansha Tandon, spoke about shaping creativity with culture and trends in the digital space.

    Speaking next was luxury & lifestyle influencer Rizwan Bachav, who walked the audience through his journey, learning, and challenges in becoming an influencer.

    Sharing thoughts on how creativity can build brands, Starcom CEO Rathi Gangappa emphasised the need of being human in the age of digital transformation.

    Concluding the review, Meta marketing director Avinash Pant spoke about the evolution of social connections and the exponentially growing metaverse space empowering meaningful experiences.

Owing to this accelerated business and rapid consumer shift towards digital, The Advertising Club is once again back with its third edition of D:CODE 2022, India’s Annual Digital Review.

    The Advertising Club’s third edition of D:CODE 2022, presented by Meta, will take place on 26 August 2022, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Following the phenomenal success of the first two editions, the upcoming edition will see the best minds in digital, media, and marketing come together to address the evolving digital ecosystem.

    Mumbai: The Advertising Club (TAC) has announced that the latest edition of the Emvies will take place on 25 March at Taj Land’s End from 6.30 p.m onwards. The event is presented by Google, powered by Colors and in association with Times of India. 

    The Emvies are coveted media awards that focus on innovation, strategy, research and seamless integration. The awards are back after a hiatus during the pandemic. With over 1000 entries this year, the best minds in media and advertising will compete for recognition at the awards.

    The event will be attended by top-notch professionals from the media, advertising and marketing fraternity. The campaigns that go on to win an ‘Emvie’, the trophy is presented to both the media agency and the client.

    Mumbai: South Asia’s pre-eminent awards for Creativity, Media and Communication, ABBY’s has joined hands with The One Show, the globally prestigious award program in advertising, design and digital marketing worldwide, thereby sharing the stage with other global and regional award platforms.

    The association seeks to create a new gold standard in recognising and awarding the region’s best creativity by bringing global standards of judging, jury selection and transparency to the established Indian Awards brand.

    The One Club for Creativity CEO Kevin Swanepoel said, the One Show is committed to raising the bar on creative judging standards all over the world. “With India already a rising new global creative powerhouse, the Abby Awards will further add shine to a very respected domestic creative program,” he said.

    Mumbai: After a gap of two years, Goafest 2022 is back for its 15th edition and is set to be held in Grand Hyatt, Goa from 7-9 April 2022. The event that celebrates the achievements of the media and advertising industry, is curated by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and The Advertising Club (TAC).

    The three-day event, which recognises consummate industry talents, will be helmed by Jaideep Gandhi as the chairman of the Goafest 2022 organising committee. Rana Barua has been elected as chairman of the awards governing council for the renowned ABBY Awards 2022. Being organised for the last 50 years, ABBY Awards is a prestigious ad award show which is attended by more than 1500 to 1800 professionals from the marketing, advertising, media, research, and PR fraternity.

    “Goafest is the definitive festival for the advertising, media and marketing industry in the sub-continent. This time the festival is coming after a gap of two years and so one can imagine the anticipation the industry professionals will have! We also expect a lot of first-timers this time given a lot of new young talent has joined in these two years. Goafest 2022 will be a good platform to celebrate our industry’s resilience as well as the potential,” said AAAI president Anupriya Acharya, speaking about the fest’s 15th edition.

    On Jaideep Gandhi’s appointment as the chairman, she further added, “Jaideep is a seasoned industry professional with vast experience on Goafest. Certainly, it will translate into a delightful and engaging festival experience for all.”

    The Advertising Club to host Effie India Awards ’21 on 29 Oct

    Mumbai: The Advertising Club is all set to host the Effie India Awards 2021, virtually, on 29 October at 7 p.m.

    This year The AdClub has surpassed all its previous records to receive 950 entries, the highest ever, with as many as 51 Agencies participating. Post conducting three town hall meetings with the stakeholders, it was decided to conduct the judging online for the first time and to

    add four new categories, said the organisation in a statement. “The Ad Club and the Effie committee also express their sincere gratitude to 520 jury members for their time and support. As many as 317 marketing professionals, 132 planners, 19 media professionals, and 52 specialists have graced the judging process this year,” it added.

    “We are delighted to host the Effie Awards again. We are overwhelmed how the industry has rallied together to enter 950 cases of work in a year that was severely impacted due to sustained lockdown and work from home,” said Advertising Club Effie India Awards chairperson Mitrajit Bhattacharya. “The quality of work this year has been exemplary and we are excited to present the best to you on the 29 October. Watch the show online from the comfort of your home or office.”

    The Effie India Awards presentation celebration, for the past 21 years, has become a calendar event for the industry with the gala evening attracting over 1500 professionals from the world of advertising, marketing, media, research, PR and communication. The India awards

    have also emerged as the third-largest Effie in the world, in terms of participation.

    The ‘presenting sponsor’ for this year is Viacom18’s Colors, ‘powered by’ sponsor is MX Player and the ‘category sponsor’ is Aditya Birla Capital. The curated and much-anticipated event will be live-streamed on The AdClub website www.theadvertisingclub.net and The AdClub’s Facebook and YouTube social media sites. The links would be amplified using Twitter and other available media, said the statement.

    Mumbai: Advertising, marketing, and media industry’s apex body – The Advertising Club on Friday announced the managing committee for the current fiscal (FY 2021-2022) at its 67th annual general meeting (AGM). Partha Sinha, president – Response Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd, has been elected to lead the body.    

    The office-bearers of The Advertising Club for 2021-22 are Rana Barua (vice president), Shashi Sinha (secretary), Mitrajit Bhattacharya (joint secretary), Dr Bhaskar Das (treasurer). All the members were elected unopposed.  

    Partho Dasgupta will continue as a member of the managing committee as the immediate past president for the ensuing year, said the organisation in a statement.

    The list of managing committee members includes the industry leaders like Punitha Arumugam, Vikram Sakhuja, Ajay Kakar, Debabrata Mukherjee, Rahul Johri, Aditya Swamy, and Pradeep Dwivedi. “The members will play a decisive role in driving synergies and ensuring the success of all The Advertising Club initiatives,” said a statement.

    In addition, the list co-opted industry professionals such as Raj Nayak, Sonia Huria, and Sidharth Rao.

    The leaders who will continue to bring value to The Advertising Club through their expertise and deep understanding of the respective industry segments are Avinash Pant, Kartik Sharma, Ajay Chandwani, Sapangeet Rajwant, Namrata Tata, Rathi Gangappa, Sabbas Joseph, Sanjay Adesara, Vikas Khanchandani, Malcolm Raphael.

    “It’s an honour to be able to serve as the president of The Advertising Club. We have a very powerful management team this year and we want to do some meaningful engagement with the advertising, media, and marketing community,” said Sinha on his appointment. “The last 16 months have been really difficult for the fraternity and we would like to ensure that we work closely with everyone to get some of the mojo back.     The Advertising Club recently announced an immersive and engaging digital debate series VICE & VERSA – A tri part novel series of exciting Debates on subjects where the jury is still divided on the answer. Reckoned for its role in driving the advertising and media industry’s growth agenda through various initiatives the digital debate series was announced to create an idea exchange platform that  that debates on key issues and  challenges faced by the marketing fraternity in the current times.     MUMBAI: The advertising agencies association of India (AAAI) and the advertising club had earlier announced the postponement of Goafest 2020, and today they announced that even Abby Awards 2020 will be deferred for the year. This is inevitably necessary in the face of the prevailing global and national crisis.

    The Abby Awards at Goafest are the biggest and the most sought after recognition in the advertising, media & marketing industry, while Goafest itself is the premier Indian event for the communications, media and advertiser fraternity. The Advertising Club and AAAI expressed confidence that both would be back next year on an even grander scale.

    The Abby Awards saw some of the greatest works being submitted this year and inspite of a muted economic scenario and a global health pandemic the number of entries were at almost on par with that of last year. Such large participation numbers for the Abby awards are a testament to its covetous stature in the industry.

    MUMBAI:  It's added another feather to its cap. And not very surprisingly it's for brand and media effectiveness. Star India has trumped the Advertising Club Mumbai's coveted Effie  client of the year Award for 2020. It bagged this honour jointly with the marketing behemoth Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL).

    The Advertising Club's EFFIE Awards for 2020 were hosted at Mumbai's Taj Lands Hotel last evening and were presented by Colors. The awards, which have become a benchmark of effectiveness and breakthrough brand and media strategies, also saw both McCann Worldgroup India and Ogilvy Group being annointed jointly with the agency of the year title. The Grand EFFIE was sweetly pocketed by EightyTwo Point Five Communications  for  its Bisleri Packaged Drinking Water – “Samajhdar Jante hai" campaign.
