    Mumbai: Telugu OTT platform aha has announced the global premiere of the romantic drama “Ichata Vahanamulu Niluparadu” on 17 September.

    Directed by S Darshan, the film stars Sushanth and Meenakshii Chaudhary in the lead with a supporting cast comprising Abhinav Gomatam, Priyadarshi, Ravi Varma, Harish Koyalagundla, and Venkat. 

    The cinematography and editing of the film were done by M Sukumar and Garry BG, respectively.

    The film earned critical acclaim and opened to a good response at the theatres for its novel premise.

    MUMBAI: Eros International Media Ltd, a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, in association with Mythri Movie Makers will be releasing Telugu action entertainer Amar Akbar Anthony. The action filled romantic drama is slated to hit the screens on November 16.

    Co-produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili and Mohan Cherukuri under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, the film has all the elements of a masala entertainer – action, comedy and romance. Largely filmed in the USA, Amar Akbar Anthony is directed by Srinu Vaitla starring celebrated Telugu actor Ravi Teja in three different roles along with Ileana D’Cruz, marking the fourth venture of the hit couple together. Srinivas Reddy, Raghu Babu, Jayaprakash Reddy, Tanikella Bharani, Satya, Vennala Kishore, Ravi Prakash, Tarun Arora, Aditya Menon, Abhimanyu Singh, Vikramjit, Rajveer Singh, Shiyaji Shinde, Subhalekha Sudhakar comprise the remaining cast. The music has been composed by renowned composer, S Thaman.

    MUMBAI: Eros International Media Ltd, a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, in association with Mythri Movie Makers will release the much awaited, mystical thriller ‘Savyasachi’ on November 2, 2018.

    Co-produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili & Mohan Cherukuri under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, the supernatural thriller is directed by Chandoo Mondeti.     YouTube views for Hindi dub of ‘Sarrainodu’ soar

    MUMBAI: Telugu actor Allu Arjun as well as the South Indian film industry has hit a new milestone. Telugu-language action film Sarrainodu, after being released in 2016, was dubbed in Hindi and Malayalam. The Hindi dubbed version has been raking in the views becoming one of the most watched Indian movies on YouTube.

    Since the day the Hindi version was uploaded on YouTube, it was super hit and created new records. In a span of nine days, the film garnered 25 million views with 1.75 lakh likes.  Now, after six months, 145 million viewers have watched the Hindi version on YouTube. Moreover, the movie now has more than 5 lakh likes.

    The success of the film again proves that the increased use of social media is helping regional content to reach audiences across the country. The success of Sarrainodu has banked, to a large extent, on Allu Arjun’s increasing following in North India. The success of the movie also indicates the Indian audience’s growing affinity for video-streaming services.

    Other than social media, the Boyapati Srinu-directed film was also a hit at the box office. According to reports, back in 2016, the film raked in Rs 127 crore at the box office. It was the fifth South film to enter the Rs 100 crore.

    Gemini TV & Telugu Film Industry to raise funds for cyclone Hudhud Relief Fund

    MUMBAI: On 12th October 2014, Hudhud cyclone struck the beautiful Coastal Andhra Pradesh City of Vizag and Uttara Andhra causing massive destruction. The cyclone is estimated at a minimum of INR 70, 000 crores (over $11 billion). Lakhs of people became homeless and Villages were inundated with flood water.

    ‘Memu Saitam’ to be held on 30th November 2014 is a Gemini TV and Telugu Film Industry initiative to help raise funds for the cause of raising funds that will be generated through a series of online and offline events and will be donated to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Relief Fund.

    “Memu Saitam” will be a star studded fund raising live show for the Vizag Hudud victims and to be exclusively telecast live on Gemini TV on Nov 30th from 10 am to 10 pm. As a humble gesture, the channel will do its bit by contributing Rs 3.5 crores to the Fund on the day of the function.

    Gemini acquires the Hindi remake rights of Telugu film Arundhati

    MUMBAI: Gemini Film Circuit and Vidhu Vinod Chopra plan to make a remake of the Telugu film Arundhati.

    The producer of the original film, Shyam Prasad Reddy, has sold the Hindi remake rights of Arundhati to Gemini.

    Said Reddy, “We have indeed sold the rights of Arundhati to Gemini Film Circuit for the Hindi remake. This is a period film with a socio-fantasy backdrop and Anushka‘s performance as Jejamma won her accolades from critics and viewers alike,”

    Arundhati, who belonged to the Gadwal samsthanam, is known for her bravery in saving the Samstanam by killing Pasupathi, an evildoer who creates ruckus in that place. She is praised as Jejemma (named after the famous Goddess in that area). But the spirit of Pasupathi haunts that place. Another girl is born in the same lineage after three generations and she is named as Arundhati. The spirit of Pasupati is after Arundhati to take revenge. The rest of the story is all about how Arundhati puts an end to the evil spirit of Pasupathi.

    The makers have zeroed in Kareena Kapoor to play the role of Jejamma. It is said that once the lead actress and the director is finalised, the makers will announce the rest of the details.

    Hindi films produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra have often been remade in Telugu by Gemini Film Circuit, the most recent being the Tamil and Telugu remake of the Aaamir Khan superhit ,3 Idiots.

    APFCC, MPDA to jointly address content theft

    MUMBAI: The Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce (APFCC) and the Motion Picture Distributors Association (India) Pvt Ltd (MPDA) have come out with an initiative to address the growing content theft under the banner of Content Protection Alliance.


    The alliance between the APFCC and MPDA (India) will work on initiatives to tackle
    cam-cording, content theft online and on cable as well as to promote public awareness campaigns and education on the importance of content protection.


    The Content Protection Alliance has received support from the Andhra Pradesh State Government. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has offered government support to further strengthen this alliance.
    The Telugu film industry is one of the largest in south India. With the support of the Andhra Pradesh government and the APFCC, the Anti-Video Piracy Cell was instituted in 2005.


    The cell has since put in place processes and systems to combat content theft and build awareness among government officials, police officials and the general public about the importance of content protection.

    Ram Gopal Varma mulls film on post-YSR’s death

    MUMBAI: Inspired by the political developments in the aftermath of former Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Rajasekhara Reddy‘s death in September 2009, Ram Gopal Varma is readying to make a Telugu film Reddy Garu Poyaru (Reddy is Dead).

    “The unprecedented political developments in Andhra Pradesh as well as the many scandals that came to light, and the intense war between television news channels, have inspired me immensely. I have decided to make a feature film exposing these happenings through a fictitious story,” Varma said in a statement.

    It has been reported that the script of the proposed film was under preparation and shooting would start next year soon after Varma completes his current venture, Department.

    “I was never interested in politics but I always had a tremendous urge to study the psychology of political leaders. A small stone when thrown into still water will cause ripples but the same stone when thrown into political waters will cause a tsunami,” Varma observed.

    Elaborating on the story, the 49-year-old producer- director said a struggle for political existence begins with the death of a tall leader. “The leader‘s own men will seek to use his death as an investment for their political existence, while those on the other side will try to use the opportunity to regain their existence. As a whole, the film will expose the bizarre political game that is played in the aftermath of the tall leader‘s death,” he averred.

    MUMBAI: Going by the excellent response some remakes of South Indian movies have been getting, Vashu Baghnani has acquired the rights to remake Telugu film Ala Modalaindi in Hindi.


    The film is the story of Gowtham who loves Simran but fails to express it to her. Before he does, she gets married to Sagar. After Gowtam gets introduced to Nitya, he learns that Nitya’s is the same case like his.


    She loves Sagar but doesn’t express it to him. Nitya and Gowtam fall for each other but don’t realise that. They get engaged to Dileep and Kavya respectively. Then a series of unexpected things happen leading to the climax.


    The Hindi remake will have Jaccky Bhagnani in the lead role while the selection of the heroine and other cast and crew members are yet to be finalised.

    Telugu film producer, lyricist MS Reddy passes away

    MUMBAI: Veteran Telugu film producer and noted lyricist MS Reddy expired at his residence yesterday after a prolonged illness. He was 87.

    Popularly known as ‘Mallemala‘, Sundara Rami Reddy was also known as ‘Sahaja Kavi‘ for his lyrical simplicity in penning poems. He penned more than 5,000 lyrics and played a vital role in the shifting of the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad.

    One of the most respected personalities of the industry, Reddy, during a career that spanned about 60 years, produced hit films like Ankusam, Talambralu, Ahuti, Baala Ramayanam, Ankusam, Ammoru, Agraham, the more recent film being Arundhati.

    He worked with some of the industry‘s most popular heroes, including NTR Jr who made his debut in Baala Ramayanam, which Reddy made with 3,000 child artistes.
