  • Tara telefilms selected for Kolkata International Film Festival

    MUMBAI: Bangla television network Tara has said that two of its telefilms have been selected for screening at the upcoming Kolkata International Film Festival. A total of four Bangla telefilms will be screened in the festival.

    The telefilms Roopkathar Jibon and Maadur will be screened in the 11th Kolkata Film Festival is being held from 10 November to 17 November, 2005 at Nandan. The festival, open to the public and delegates from India and abroad, will be covered live on the channel.

    According to an official release, these two telefilms were chosen by viewer’s choice from the telefilms screened at the Kolkata Bangla Telefilm Festival in Nandan. Broadcasters placed their telefilms before an eminent jury for selection of the best telefilms for exhibition during the Bangla Telefilm Festival earlier this year. Seven telefilms commissioned by Tara had been selected by the jury this year at the festival. Of these seven, two have made it to the final list, the release adds.

  • Seven Tara telefilms nominated for Kolkata Telefilm Festival

    MUMBAI: Broadcast Worldwide’s Bangla Television network Tara has its seven telefilms nominated for the prestigious Kolkata Telefilm Festival at Nandan. The festival gives an opportunity to broadcasters to place their films before an eminent jury for selection of the best films for exhibition.
     

    The festival will be held from 22 July to 31 July. A total of 20 telefilms have been selected for the festival.
     
     

    The Tara-produced telefilms which will compete in the festival are: Madur (directed by Jayashree Bhattacharya), Sumitra Online (directed by Atanu Ghosh), Balyabandhu (directed by Sanjoy Bhattacharya), Rupkathar Jibon (directed by Sourav Sarengi), Raat Bhor (directed by Arindam Dey), Teesta (directed by Raj Chakraborty) and Scandal (directed by Milan Roy Chowdhury).
