    Sarthak TV biggest gainer in week 19 of TAM TV Ratings

    KOLKATA: General Entertainment Channel (GEC) Sarthak TV has gained big in the week 19 of TAM TV ratings. The report which tracks CS4+ and all the days shows that the Odia GEC has garnered 303 GRPs, as compared to the 275 GRPs last week.

     

    Tarang TV on the other hand has come down from its previous week’s 218 GRPs to 211 GRPs this week. Infotainment channel, OTV has also seen a reduction in its GRP. The channel has managed 131 GRPs this week, compared to the 170 GRP it reported last week.

     

     ETV Oriya, now under the belt of Network 18 Group saw a hike in its GRP- from 99 GRPs in week 18 to the 107 GRPs it recorded this week.

     
    The GRPs for MBCTV and Prarthana were 120 and 83 respectively. Tarang Music and Kanak TV recorded 41 and 9 GRPs respectively.

     

    Let’s take a look at the viewership pattern for the shows on the various channels, which hooks viewers of CS4 + to TV screens between time band 19:00-22:00 on all days. Shows To Aganara Tulasi Mu, Pari and Badhu from Sarthak TV received a TRP of 3.63, 2.83 and 2.50 respectively. In the previous week, the ratings of these serials were 3.3, 3.5, and 3.1 respectively.  

     

    Kichi Luho, Swabhiman and Kemiti Bandhana, which airs on Tarang got TRPs of 2.48, 1.51 and 0.22 respectively.

     

    On the other hand serials from ETV Oriya like TapasyaBoda GharaAahutiRajakanya and Appa got ratings of 1.94, 0.52, 0.52, 1.38 and 0.45 TRPs respectively.

     

    Last but not the least Zee Kalinga which telecasts  Katha Ta Etiki, Mo Jejema, and Aasta Ra Akasha got 0.06, 0.03 and 0.03 0 TRPs respectively. The TRPs for these shows were 0.1, 0.3, and 0.05 respectively in week 18.

    MUMBAI: With the IPL and elections on everyone’s mind, it is the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) that are at the receiving end.

     

    In the week 19 of TAM TV ratings, the IPL fever took Max to greater heights. It witnessed a huge hike and reported 540,911 GVTs, up from 457,415 GVTs.

     

    The week saw all the GECs taking a plunge. Though, Sab saw a minor gain.

     

    Despite shedding numbers, Star Plus maintained its hold on number one position 732,585 GVTs, down from 746,025 GVTs. All its fiction properties have seen a drop too in the ratings. Thus, its chart topper Diya Aur Baati Hum scored 10,525TVTs, down from 12,233TVTs. Saathiya Saath is the second highest rated show for the channel which rated 8,507TVTs, down from 8,885TVTs and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai scored 7,257 TVTs, down from 7,573 TVTs.

     

    Zee TV held onto the second position with 394,786 GVTs, down from 409,010 GVTs. Its experiment t in the comedy space Gangs of Haseepur did not seem to grab eyeballs and lost numbers in the third consecutive week and registered 1,688 TVTs, down from 1,916 TVTs. The channel’s historical series Jodha Akbar also saw a drop in its viewership and registered 8,450 TVTs, down from 9,139 TVTs. Its other fictional offerings like Do Dil Bandhe noted 4,328 TVTs, down from 5,179 TVTs.

     

    Colors occupied the third place with 375,641 GVTs, down from 396,193 GVTs. All its popular fictional offerings have witnessed a rise in the ratings. Madhubala recorded 3,216 TVTs, up from 2,925 TVTs; Balika Vadhu noted 4503 TVTs, up from 4,440 TVTs, and Uttaran garnered 3,648 TVTs, up from 3,254 TVTs.

     

    On the other hand, the channel’s reality shows didn’t work wonders for the channel. Thus, Comedy Nights with Kapil reported 6,923 TVTs, down from 7,198 TVTs, Khatron Ke Khiladi five scored 4,923 TVTs, up from 6,570 TVTs and Mission Sapne recorded 1946 TVTs, down from 2,769 TVTs.

     

    Life OK stays happy at number four with 347,802 GVTs, down from 360,213 GVTs. The channel’s most popular series Shapath recorded 2,533 TVTs, down from 2,852 TVTs. Savdhan India saw a rise and noted 2,603 TVTs, up from 2,480 TVTs and Tumhari Pakhi stood at 2,489 TVTs, up from 2,445 TVTs.

     

    At number five remains Sony which registered 286,202 GVTs, down from 290,948 GVTs. Jee Le Zara scored high and reported 1,390 TVTs, up from 1,297 TVTs, Maharana Pratap garnered 2,697 TVTs, down from 2,858 TVTs. Its crime property Crime Patrol saw a decrease in the number of viewers and stood at 2,281 TVTs, down from 2,680 TVTs.

     

    Lastly, Sab scored 268,051 GVTs, up from 267,113 GVTs. Its chart topper Taarak Mehta noted 5,198 TVTs, down from 5,880 TVTs. Balveer reported 2,774 TVTs, up from 2,734 TVTs.

     

    In the movie genre: Zee Cinema reported 189,889 GVTs, up from 188,125 GVTs; Movies OK scored 132,426 GVTs, down from 143,794 GVTs; &pictures garnered 88,319 GVTs, up from 82,537 GVTs and Zee Anmol earned 72,968 GVTs, down from 74,074 GVTs

    KOLKATA: General entertainment channel (GEC) Sarthak TV has gained big in the week 18 of TAM TV ratings. The Odia GEC has garnered a gross rating point (GRP) of 275, as compared to the 199 GRPs last week. 

     
    Tarang TV on the other hand which managed 244 GRPs in the week 17 has come down to 218 GRPs this week. 

     
    While OTV, an infotainment channel which saw a drop in its GRPs in the last few weeks has gone up to 170 GRPs as compared to the 157 GRP it garnered last week.

     
    ETV Oriya, now under the belt of Network 18 Group was at 99 GRPs.

     

    The GRP for MBCTV and Prarthana were 96 and 83 respectively.

     

    While for Tarang Music, Zee Kalinga and Kanak TV, it was 53, 24 and 11 GRPs respectively.

     

    Coming to the viewership pattern for the shows on the various channels, which hooks viewers of CS4 + to TV screens between time band 19:00-22:00 on all days, Pari, To Aganara Tulasi Mu and Badhu from Sarthak TV received a TRP of 3.5, 3.3 and 3.1 respectively.  In the previous week, the ratings of these serials were 2.63, 3 and 3.32 respectively.

     

    Tarang which airs Kichi Luho, Swabhiman and Kemiti Bandhana got TRPs of 3.1, 2.4, and 1.4 respectively. Whereas last week Kichi Luho was at 1.81TRP, Swabhiman at 2.77 and Kemiti Bandhana got 1.45TRP.

     

    On the other hand serials from ETV Oriya like Tapasya, Bada Ghara, Aahuti, Rajakanya and Appa got ratings of 1.1, 0.6, 0.5, 0.4 and 0.2 TRPs respectively.

     

    Ahya Sulakhyani from MBCTV got 0.5 TRP.

     

    Last but not the least Zee Kalinga which telecasts Mo Jejema, Katha Ta Etiki and Aasta Ra Akasha got 0.3, 0.1 and 0.05 TRPs respectively.

    KOLKATA: When it comes to Bengali News channels and their performance then Kolkata TV is the clear winner, as per the TAM TV ratings. In week 17, the channel’s gross viewership in thousands (GVTs) was way ahead than any other in the state. It garnered 960 GVTs as compared to the 850 GVTs a week earlier.

     

     

    ABP Anando, from the house of ABP Group, stood second with 418 GVTs against 391 GVTs of last week. At number three was 24 Ghanta which saw a drop as it scored 335 as compared to the 338 in week 16.

     

     

    Last but not the least, the newly launched, Focus TV, is seen to make a mark as GVTs increased from 42 to 103.

     

     

    A city based media expert talking about Kolkata TV gaining said: “The distribution of Kolkata is quite strong. Also, its catchy programmes can contribute to its number one position.”

    KOLKATA: General entertainment channel (GEC) Sarthak TV has gained big in the week 16 of TAM TV ratings. The Odia GEC has garnered a gross rating point (GRP) of 207, as compared to the 204 GRPs in week 15.

     

    Tarang TV on the other hand managed 183 GRPs, as compared to the 181 GRPs, recorded a week prior.

     

    While OTV, an infotainment channel, saw a drop in its GRP. The channel got 162 GRPs as compared to the 190 GRP it garnered last week.

     

    ETV Oriya, now under the belt of Network 18 Group too came down to 82 GRPs as compared to 84 GRPs, it reported in the week 15 of TAM TV ratings.

    Music F Fatafati gains big in week 16 of TAM TV Ratings

    KOLKATA: Music F Fatafati has beaten Dhoom Bangla in terms of gross viewership in thousands (GVT) and time spent per viewer (TSV), as per the latest report of week 16 released by TAM.  Music F Fatafati has also beaten Sangeet Bangla in TSV.

     

    As per the TAM report, the data has been collated from the target group of 15-24 years. Music F Fatafati garnered 765 million GVTs as compared to the 549 million GVTs it got last week. The time spent on the channel was 39.16 hours as compared to 26.02 hours recorded last week.

     

    On the other hand Sangeet Bangla garnered 1313 million GVTs as compared to the 1208 million GVTs, last week. The time spent on the channel was 30.32 hours, up from 28.69 hours, recorded the previous week.

     

    Dhoom Bangla has gained big this week. The channel received 737 million GVTs, an up from the 467 million GVTs it got last week. It also saw a rise in the time spent, which was 31.23 hours, as compared to 22.05 hours, a week before. 

     

    Even though young people today are glued to Bollywood and Hollywood tunes, the TAM data clearly reveals that they consume Bengali music as well.

     

    Commenting on the report, media analyst Namit Dave said, “There is so much demand for music in Kolkata that the new entrant Music F-Fatafati has easily started to get a good pie especially when others are already doing well in the market.”

    MUMBAI: The leader in the Hindi general entertainment space, Star Plus has proved its might once again. After setting new viewership record weeks back, it has hit another record by inching close to the 800 million mark.

     

    The on-going Indian Premier League (IPL) has also not impacted the chart topper’s ratings, thus giving it another reason to rejoice. The channel took its tally to 791 million GVTs in the week 16 of TAM TV ratings, up from 748 million GVTs. For the rest of the GECs that were hit badly by IPL are Colors, Sony and Sab.

     

    Zee TV is stable at number two with 473 million GVTs, up from 464 million GVTs. For Colors, which is at number three slot registered 433 million GVTs, down from 451 million GVTs a week earlier.

     

    Life OK witnessed hike in the viewership and recorded 389 million GVTs, up from 376 million GVTs. For the sister channels, Sab and Sony it was a bad week. Sab stood at number five with 266 million GVTs, down from 314 million GVTs and Sony occupied number six position with maximum loss in the viewership and noted 244 million GVTs, down from 308 million GVTs a week earlier.

    MUMBAI: In the week 14 of TAM TV ratings, Colors has ousted Zee TV to grab the number two spot. The channel has recorded 454,335 GVTs as compared to 454,237 GVTs a week earlier.  Zee TV has dropped one position, and ranks number three with 425,698 GVTs, down from 461,300 GVTs.

     

    Star Plus is enjoying its reign as the number one general entertainment channel (GEC). This week again it touched the 700 million GVTs mark as it recorded 702,324 GVTs, a huge rise from last week’s 686,602 GVTs.

     

    Life OK maintains its stability at number four and registered 384,524 GVTs, up from 371,427 GVTs last week. Despite seeing a huge fall in the ratings, Sony continues to remain at the fifth spot as it garnered 312,298 GVTs, down from 362,061 GVTs a week earlier.

     

    Sab saw a rise in the viewership but remained at number six position with 298,753 GVTs, up from 272,972 GVTs. Sahara One continues to remain at the bottom of the chart with 30,030 GVTs, down from 33,173 in the week 13.

    MUMBAI: In the week 11 of TAM TV ratings, Star Plus, Colors and Sab are the only gainers. Other channels in the general entertainment channels (GECs) space have witnessed a drop in their ratings.

     

    Star Plus continues to be the leader in the space with 727 million GVTs, up from 717 million GVTs.  Zee TV is still standing strong at number two position, even though it registered a drop garnering 501 million GVTs as compared to the 528 million GVTs last week.

     

    Colors, with 466 million GVTs is at number three position. The channel has gained big this week and is up from 435 million GVTs from the previous week. Life OK, ranked at number four garnering 361 million GVTs, down from 373 million GVTs, in the earlier week.

     

    While Sab is at number five with 313 million GVTs, up from 305 million GVTs, Sony continues to be at the bottom of the chart with 291 million GVTs, down from 301 million GVTs from last week.

    MUMBAI: It seems Zee TV and Colors are playing a run-and-chase game as the former has dislodged the latter from the second position again in the week that ended 23 February. In fact, among the general entertainment channels (GECs), Zee TV and Life OK are the only gainers, rest all have seen a considerable dip.

     

    In the Week 9 of TAM TV ratings, at the second position Zee TV registered 548 million viewers compared to 454 million last week, while Life OK registered 341 million compared to 318 million last week. Star Plus stood strong at number one even after witnessing a slight dip with 637 million viewers compared to 688 million in Week eight. Colors, at number three, witnessed a drop too as it registered 465 million viewers (502 million).

     

    Sony, which climbed to the fourth position last week, is down at number five with a slight dip. It registered 306 million viewers compared to 339 million last week. Sab, at number five, also witnessed a slight dip with 303 million viewers (326 last week).

     

    Sahara One at the bottom saw no change with 37 million viewers in both the weeks.
