  • Zee announces first bunch of ‘India’s Best’ talents

    MUMBAI: India’s Best – Cinestar Ki Khoj received good response in the first four cities where it was held; Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kanpur and Lucknow, with participants queuing up at the audition venue, all vying to try their chance to be the next big cine-star of Bollywood.
    Speaking on the occasion Zee TV president Sunil Khanna said, “We had expected an immense response. But what we witnessed in the first four cities was overwhelming. All the four centers have made us very bullish about the expected response in the other cities. The talent that exists in our country is enough to make anyone proud.”
    After choosing the best from Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Cinestar ki khoj moves to the next set of cities Bhopal, Baroda, Jaipur and Bangalore. The auditions in these cities started yesterday and the finalist will be chosen in the final event on the 26 May.

    The big break for the excited young Mumbaikars will start on 2 June with auditions taking place at SNDT University Juhu Mumbai.

  • RAPA honours radio, TV talents

    MUMBAI: The 30 th Radio and Television Advertising Practioners’ Association Award (RAPA) felicitated the best of content from the electronic media.

    These awards are conferred for outstanding and creative talents from almost all radio and television categories such as fictional, non-fictional, news based, film based and regional languages programmes.
     

    This year, the RAPA awards introduced Pandit Vinod Sharma award for outstanding copywriter in Hindi as language for television. Avnish Agrawal won the award for his Wings of Fire created for SET India Private Limited.

    Rapa Sheel Kumar Trophy was bestowed on Supriya Pathak for best performance on Khichdi, which airs on Star Plus. On the other hand, Star World’s chat show Koffee with Karan, in English.

    The other chat shows includes Aaj Tak’s Seedhi Baat in Hindi, Doordarshan Kendra Mahacharcha in Marathi.

    Astitva-Ek Prem Kahani won the best soap serial of the year, which was received by its actress Nicky Aneja.

    In the game show category, the winners were Khul Ja Simsim (Hindi), Home Minister (Marathi), Jackpot (Tamil) and India’s Child Genius (English).

    The highly acclaimed legal drama on Star One , Siddhanth, won the award for best direction Abhinav Kashyap. The production house B AG Films was also honored with two awards in nonfiction category which went to Haqeeqat (hindi)and Baastab (Bangla) , programs with social message.
     
     

    While in the comedy serial category it was Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai (Hindi) Laagli Vaat (Marathi) and Kahun Chun Samblo Chho (Gujarati).

    FCB Ulka creative team bagged the best TVC Spot Script for Zee Cinema Paap Ka Anth. The video album featuring the title song of Dhoom was awarded for the best music video album.

    While the promo for the feature film Yuva bagged the best promo of the year.

    In the radio arena,Jelitta Publicity won for the best radio jingle in Malayalam -Kesasree Hairtone. Rediffusion Dy &R bagged for the best radio spot Its’ My Life.

    Radio Mirchi radio jockey Purani Jeans bagged the award for best amongst radio jockeys.
