Zee Cinema to air Taapsee Pannu-starrer ‘Rashmi Rocket’ on 27 Nov

Mumbai: Zee Cinema is set to telecast the world TV premiere of Taapsee Pannu-starrer “Rashmi Rocket” on 27 November at 8 p.m.

The film tells the inspiring story of Rashmi Vira (Pannu) – a spirited tomboy from Kutch, with a carefree childhood and supportive parents who always encouraged her to push her limits and become a world athletic champion. However, her career comes to a dead end when she becomes a victim of gender bias faced by female athletes. Thereafter, begins her journey to overcome all barriers and fight for justice.

Directed by Akash Khurana, the film also features Abhishek Banerjee, Supriya Pathak, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Priyanshu Painyuli in pivotal roles.

“Playing the role of captain Gagan in Rashmi Rocket has been more than special to me. Growing up, I witnessed the journey of my dad who is a retired colonel from Assam regiment. It’s because of him that my fascination and inclination towards the armed forces only grew, while acting is something that is my passion,” said Priyanshu Painyuli on his character in the film. “My love for cinema and the deep respect for the army perfectly coalesced in this role and I am only grateful that it was offered to me. I remember sending pictures to my family in the army uniform and they all told me that I resembled my dad from his early days as a young captain.”

“Whenever I pick a role, I place the script and the character at the primal importance. When I read about my character in the film, I was immediately intrigued as Eeshit is someone who fights for a cause – an athlete, someone who takes a stand and wants to bring about a change,” said Abhishek Banerjee. “To prepare for the role, I always thought of someone who fights for change and maybe that’s why I connected with the character. I think this came as a great opportunity to understand a human-like that and it inspired me in ways I didn’t imagine.”

Vivel celebrates freedom of choice in new campaign

MUMBAI: ITC’s personal care brand, Vivel, has launched its impactful TVC integrating the brand’s philosophy of ‘Ab Samjhauta Nahin’. Vivel believes that being empowered is about having the freedom to make a choice. A choice to be yourself, the way you think, behave or even dress.

The new Aloe Vera soap film tells a story of one such choice. A lot of women feel the pressure to behave or dress like men in order to be successful and accepted in workplaces as equals.

The 30-second story encourages women to retain their softness and empathy while being assertive. She rather believes that softness is not her weakness but rather her identity and strength.

The TVC features veteran TV actor Supriya Pilgaonkar and her daughter Shriya Pilgaonkar. The narrative opens with Shriya Pilgaonkar being depicted as the daughter, who is confident of her choices and expresses it in her soft yet assertive way irrespective of circumstances or individuals. She believes in her strengths and is unwilling to dress like men just to fit in.

The film introduces a fresh and a more meaningful understanding of confidence that is aimed to make a positive and an emotional connection and resonates with the product promise of softness in Vivel Aloe Vera soap. The ad showcases the strength of identity in a woman’s inherent values.

Brand David executive vice-president Ajay Menon says, “We are thrilled to have partnered with ITC to bring alive a campaign that is creating a platform for the brand to engage with its consumers in a much more authentic and deeper level.”

  • Mom tackles new species in Terribly Tiny short: Jai Mata Di

MUMBAI: YouTube’s ‘Best Girlfriend’-fame writer-director Navjot Gulati has made ‘Jai Mata Di, a special short, on Mother’s Day starring real-life mother-daughter Supriya-Shriya Pilgaonkar which went live on Saturday morning.

Terribly Tiny Talkies, a storytelling collective, brings together distinctive and talented filmmakers from India to craft thematic short films under ten minutes.

This humour filled short drama is about a couple, Suraj and Ananya, who are shifting from Bangalore to Mumbai and want to live-in together to kick off a new phase in their relationship. They go house-hunting but can’t just find a house that Ananya likes until they see an apartment which has her heart set on but there is a hitch, the housing society does not allow unmarried couples. Their broker Datta Verma comes to their rescue, he suggests that they pose as brother-sister and call Ananya’s mother’s to come for the society meeting assuring them that they are indeed siblings.

But, when it comes to two people living under the same roof without a marriage certificate, it’s not religion, caste, or even the parents that’s the biggest hurdle. It’s a species that dictates the law of the land without really owning it — the society secretary. But, as they say, there’s nothing that mom can’t solve.”

Gulati says, “Every Mother’s Day, we see some heart-wrenching story being told and people sharing the content with a heavy heart. This day, however, they will share the content with a smile.”

Shriya Pilgaokar, who made her debut opposite Shahrukh Khan in Fan last year, says, “This is extremely special to me because mom and I worked together for the first time.”
