    Mumbai: Diageo India’s flagship brand McDowell’s No1 Soda has announced its association with five IPL teams Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals as their ‘celebrations partner’ for the latest season of T20 Cricket.  

    “This year, McDowell’s No1 Soda plans to take the celebrations that arrive with the cricket season a notch higher with its campaign #No1YaariCheers. The umbrella spirits brand will be using this to enhance its engagement and celebration for this cricket season across languages and regions,” the brand said in a statement.

    The brand campaign is ideated and created by the creative team at DDB Mudra. Talking about the creative concept, DDB Mudra executive vice president and business partner Sujay Ghosh said, “McDowell’s No1 has always stood for Yaari and mehfil (gathering). Cricket epitomises both of these. Hence this cricket season, we took the opportunity to create a new way to celebrate. Chants (Cheers) will be the new language of fans and friends this year, powered by the teams and McDowell’s No1 Soda.”

    Mumbai: Cricket fever is a widely recognised phenomenon in India that skyrockets during every big tournament, and even more so during the homegrown Indian Premier League (IPL). In this context, global television brand and consumer electronics company TCL has reiterated its commitment to officially sponsor Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the third time in a row for the upcoming T20 league.

    As a part of the contract, the TCL brand logo will appear on the upper non leading arm right of the players’ jersey.  

    “The SRH squad had consistently exhibited exceptional resilience, perseverance, hard work and commitment to give their best,” said TCL India head of marketing Vijay Kumar Mikkilineni, on the association. “This year, SRH is betting on young and dynamic players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Nicholas Pooran, who can fulfil their quest for another IPL title. The team is filled with young blood as well as quite experienced players that effectively resonate with Indian Cricket fans. Our association with SRH allows us to follow our passion for Cricket and provide state-of-the-art TVs to consumers so that they don’t miss out on a single on-field moment.”

    Mumbai: Expanding its roster of IPL team sponsorships, digital-native insurers Acko Insurance has signed on as an associate sponsor for three teams – Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants. 

    “With this, the upcoming season will see Acko join forces with a total of six teams as their insurance partner, making it one of the key brands to be associated with the marquee event,” said the statement. The brand’s league sponsorship journey began with a partnership with Delhi Capitals in 2020, before expanding to include Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

    As a part of the partnership, the players of Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans will sport the Acko logo on their headgear (helmets/caps), while the players of the other three teams will have the logo on their trousers. The logo will also be prominently visible in the stadium where the teams are playing, according to the brand.

    “This cricketing league is a great sporting property and to be able to associate our brand with six of the teams gives us tremendous brand visibility,” said Acko executive VP – marketing Ashish Mishra, commenting on the partnerships. “These six cities are also core markets for us. With our on-ground activations, our aim is to bring the fans closer to the teams that they have loved over the years with interactive, community-driven activities. We hope to positively impact the fans’ lives, and in doing so, not just secure brand awareness, but build lasting brand love and loyalty.”

    The association with the teams will be amplified with a 360-degree campaign across television, digital and social media platforms, which will run throughout the course of the tournament. Acko has also planned a series of activations across platforms for engaging with fans and driving brand recall.

    Moreover, Acko will create localised experiences in the six cities for bringing fans closer to the teams they love. As an associate sponsor, the insurer will give away signed merchandise of the teams through contests and events that the brand plans on organising.

    Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants are two new franchises, making their debut in the fifteenth edition of the tournament.

    Mumbai: E-commerce platform for pre-owned vehicles Cars24 has partnered with Sunrisers Hyderabad to become the franchise’s new principal sponsor for IPL 2022. With this association, Cars24 also becomes the first pre-owned car player to enter into partnership with IPL.

    Under the newly-inked strategic partnership, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team jersey will sport the blue and orange Cars24 logo on the front, with the aim to cement the brand’s space in the minds of fans this season of the IPL.

    “As a brand that shares its love for cricket like the rest of the nation, we are immensely excited about this partnership,” said Cars24 chief marketing officer (India) Sudhir Shukla. “Cars24 and Sunrisers Hyderabad have a lot of similarities – for starters, we are both orange army signifying our determination to be the best and the joy we bring to our viewers and customers alike. With 10 teams to compete for the coveted title, we are sure this edition is definitely going to grab the attention of all cricket fans across the world.”

    The Sun Group-owned franchise debuted in 2013 and made its mark as the 2016 IPL Champions. Captained by New Zealand national team captain Kane Williamson, the team also has young stars like Umran Malik and Abdul Samad who are also the retained risers. Bringing their wealth of cricket knowledge to the team are coaches Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Dale Steyn, Simon Katich, Hemang Badani and Tom Moody as the head coach.

    Covid relief: Sunrisers Hyderabad donates Rs 30 crore

    KERALA: Sun TV Network, owners of IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad, has donated Rs 30 crore towards India’s Covid2019 relief efforts. The amount donated by Sun TV will be used to undertake Covid relief works carried out by the central and state governments along with various other non-profits. 

    “Sun TV Network is donating a sum of Rs 30 crore to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid pandemic. This will be spent on several initiatives currently underway at various states of India including the following: 1. Donations to the various programmes initiated by the government of India and state governments. 2. Partnering with NGOs that are providing oxygen cylinders, medicines, etc,” said Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

    The former IPL champions also added that Sun TV will leverage its resources and media assets to spread greater awareness among millions of its television viewing audiences. 

    Meanwhile, Honda India Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of all Honda group companies in India, has also pledged to donate Rs 6.5 crore to the country’s Covid relief efforts. 

    As a part of this, Honda India Foundation will also set up Covid care isolation centers and oxygen production plants in the country. The company revealed that the temporary Covid isolation centers will start functioning from next week. According to reports, Honda India Foundation is closely working with states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana to set up oxygen plants.

    After reporting more than 4,00,000 fresh Covid cases for three consecutive days, India witnessed a slight dip in positive cases on May 9. On Sunday, the country reported over 3,60,000 fresh cases and 3,748 Covid-related deaths.

    NEW DELHI: Sun Group-owned IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad are off to a flying start when it comes to brand partners. With the opening match of the tournament’s fourteenth edition a fortnight away, the David Warner-led team has secured no less than 15 sponsors this time around. Sunrisers had signed 13 sponsors last year.

    JK Lakshmi Cement leads the massive line-up as the title sponsor. The cement brand continues its association with the team from last year, along with Ralco Tyres as a principal sponsor. The franchise has added Kent RO as another principal sponsor to its portfolio.

    Jio, TCL, Dream 11, Jai Raj Steel, Nerolac and Colgate have all been retained as sponsors for IPL 14, with their logos and branding set to be prominently displayed on the team’s match kits. Kotak Bank, Tyka, IB Cricket, Double Horse and Fancode have also continued their partnership with the franchise. Anil Kumble’s technology-based sports firm Spektacom is a new addition to the list of partners.
