    Mumbai: As the entire nation celebrates the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, marks the 17th edition of its highly acclaimed initiative – BIG Green Ganesha. Launched in 2008, this purpose-driven campaign has been continuously evolving, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging communities to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi responsibly.     A key highlight of this year’s campaign has been the recognition of ‘Green Heroes,’ individuals who are taking significant steps to adopt and promote eco-friendly practices during Ganesh Chaturthi. Over 10 days, BIG FM’s RJ Rani has been spotlighting these champions by visiting them at their homes, presenting each with an eco-friendly Ganesha idol and a green certificate to honour their commitment to sustainability. These Green Heroes have also been sharing their inspiring stories on air, motivating others to follow in their footsteps.

    Mumbai: Post-pandemic, India has witnessed a significant decline in organ donations nationwide. To address this cause, BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, is launching its purpose-led campaign, ‘Bano India Ke Ang Daata’, aimed at inspiring and encouraging organ donations across India. Building on the success of the ‘Bano Mumbai Ke Ang Daata’ and ‘Ghar Ghar Ang Daata’ campaigns that were launched in Mumbai over the past two years, the initiative is now expanding nationwide intending to achieve maximum registrations.

    The campaign will be hosted on all 58 BIG FM stations by its prominent RJs, including RJ Vrajesh Hirjee from Mumbai, RJ Akriti from Delhi, RJ Sangram from Pune, RJ Nayana from Mangalore, RJ Uday from Goa and RJ Juhie from Jammu. Notably, these RJs have already pledged to be organ donors, demonstrating their commitment to this cause. The six-week campaign will feature a mix of on-air and on-ground activities designed to ensure the message of organ donation reaches every individual in a meaningful way. On-air initiatives will include RJ advocacy, patient and donor stories, interactive polls and insightful interactions with celebrities, influencers, doctors and health experts. Additionally, a special song to raise awareness among citizens has also been created by renowned Bollywood playback singer-songwriter Aaman Trikha.

    The radio network has also partnered with the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), a leading authority under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The campaign will mobilise RJs to advocate for organ donation registration and create awareness for obtaining donor cards with the help of NOTTO, regional and state authorities, as well as influential individuals and community leaders. Furthermore, BIG FM teams will engage audiences directly through on-ground activities, visiting Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and corporate offices to encourage future organ donation via impactful street plays (Nukkad Natak).

    Mumbai: In a heartfelt tribute to the valiant soldiers of India, BIG FM, one of the leading radio networks in the country, marked the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas with its initiative ‘Mera Dil Kargil’. Engaging listeners across the country, BIG FM has been undertaking significant efforts each year by paying homage to the courage, valour and sacrifices made during Operation Vijay in 1999. This year’s campaign honors the milestone anniversary of the extraordinary bravery and determination of the Indian soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. BIG FM RJs – RJ Pihu and RJ Anshuman visited the Kargil War Memorial in Drass where they provided live updates, honouring war heroes, veer naaris (brave widows) and war veterans.     BIG FM concludes its campaign ‘Jal Andolan – Desh Ne Thaani Not to Waste Paani’

    Mumbai: In response to the escalating global water crisis, BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, successfully concluded its purpose-led initiative ‘Jal Andolan – Desh Ne Thaani Not to Waste Paani’, aimed to raise awareness about responsible water usage. Responding to soaring temperatures aggravating water shortages across major Indian cities this summer, the campaign garnered significant support from celebrities, government authorities, activists, communities and NGOs.

    Through this campaign, BIG FM also rolled out the ‘Jal Daan’ initiative, encouraging individuals to curb their water usage. The collected water was then distributed across various locations in Delhi and NCR regions with the help of water tankers. In addition to on-air initiatives, the campaign featured on-ground activities such as cleaning nearby water bodies, conducting awareness programs at malls, holding discussions with experts in schools and colleges and organizing painting, slogan writing competitions across all BIG FM stations.

    The highly impactful campaign drew the attention of the Jal Shakti Department, with secretary Debashree Mukherjee IAS expressing her appreciation for the cause. Celebrities including Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Raghuvir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Mini Mathur, Alka Yagnik and Anuradha Podwal supported the initiative by sharing how they are individually contributing to water conservation. Additionally, listeners also shared their Jal Warrior stories on air by reaching out directly to BIG FM RJs or through their social media handles, detailing how they are saving water in their daily lives.

As demand rises and the population grows, conserving not only water but all natural resources has become crucial. Through ‘Jal Andolan,’ we aimed to further emphasize the importance of mindful water consumption and thereby the needs for its conservation.     ‘Jal Andolan’ concluded in Delhi with ‘Jal Daan,’ encouraging people to save water by using a bucket instead of taking a shower, not washing their car and reusing RO wastewater for household chores. Approximately 50,000 litres of water was distributed to water-scarce areas in Delhi by BIG FM RJs – RJ Khurafati Nitin, RJ Akriti and RJ Yogi — with the support of Delhi Police, various listeners and communities.

    Mumbai: In response to the rising stress and fast-paced lifestyle that has made smoking a common habit for many, BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, brought back the second season of ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ on World No Tobacco Day, 31 May. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the risks and hazards of smoking and tobacco use. Over four weeks, the campaign featured a multifaceted approach encompassing radio broadcasts, celebrity endorsements, expert insights and digital engagement to effectively encourage positive behaviour change. It also featured the quirky reality show called ‘QUITSVILLA’, inspiring participants to quit smoking.

    Tobacco kills over 8 million people annually, with 7 million from direct use and 1.2 million from second-hand smoke. Building on last season’s success, BIG FM launched the second season of ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ with new engaging elements. The activities kicked off with a strong drive across radio and digital platforms, effectively reaching a targeted audience and securing 11 committed participants. Led by Mumbai RJs- RJ Vrajesh, RJ Rani, RJ Abhilash and RJ Dilip, the campaign’s first week focused on awareness and registrations. The second week highlighted inspiring stories from listeners and celebrities like Yuvraj Singh, Vikrant Massey and Manoj Bajpayee, adding authenticity and motivation to the initiative. Health experts and quit-smoking specialists provided valuable insights during the third week.

    The last week of the campaign featured live updates from “QUITSVILLA,” a 48-hour immersive monitoring session at Della Resorts in Lonavala. Participants shared their stories while enjoying performances by rapper Akhil Dighe aka Hellac, comedians Vanshika and Jay Verma, yoga sessions by Shruti Kukreti, sound healing by Mariko, habit coaching by Ashdin Doctor, reverse singing by Madhu Lakhotia and Zumba dancing by Micky. Celebrities like Sanvikaa and Saad Bilgrami from Panchayat season 3 added excitement, making the campaign a supportive journey for those determined to quit smoking.

The campaign reached its culmination with the compelling stories of five real women making significant strides in the investment space. These narratives were expertly presented by Avadhut Sathe as part of the ‘5 Stories of Laxmi’ series. As a part of the initiative, the radio network also released a special anthem for ‘Main Bhi Finance Minister’ with Rapper Agsy & RJ Rani in both video and audio format.

The workshop marked a transformative experience, attracting over hundreds of participants from across India. With a significant turnout both online and offline at the Avadhut Sathe Trading Academy located in Mulund, the event demonstrated widespread engagement and enthusiasm.
