    &TV to launch global singing reality show ‘The Voice’ in June

    MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd’s (Zeel) new Hindi general entertainment (GEC) channel &TV is all set to air the Indian edition of the internationalsinging reality show The Voice.

     

    Owned by Talpa Media, the format is touted as one of the most successful and groundbreaking vocal competitions across the globe.

     

    With 60 local productions entertaining audiences in more than 180 countries and over 500 million viewers around the world, The Voice is produced and adapted by Endemol in India and is slated to go on air this June.

     

    The Voice is the purest form of a singing reality show where the contestants are chosen through blind auditions, only on the basis of their voice and not appearance. For an unprecedented show like this, the channel has roped in mentors like Himesh Reshammiya, Mika, Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan.

     

    Talking about the format, &TV business head Rajesh Iyer said, “We are excited to present viewers with The Voice, a show, which is already a global sensation as one of our biggest non-fiction offerings. The show takes a unique route in its selection process and focuses on quality of talent, which differentiates the format.     MUMBAI: MTV is all set to take their fans on a new musical high. Come November, the channel will premiere the season 3 of its popular music series Unplugged, which promises to be exclusive, intimate and personal through a live gig format experience to audience.

    Standing true to its theme of ‘Mega Artists, Mega Hits’ the last season of Unplugged brought prodigious possibilities like Rahman for the first time on world television; Sunidhi Chauhan’s performance which was another stellar one backed up the sentiment; the ever-charismatic Lucky Ali also made his comeback on the show.

    Boasting of an impressive line-up of artists, fans are in for a treat as each episode will feature one renowned artist who is all set to regale the audience with his vocals – Bollywood director, actor and singer Farhan Akhtar with Farhan LIVE, Bollywood singing superstars Sonu Niigaam, Mika and KK, Indie rockstars Pentagram and The Raghu Dixit Project and the next gen superstars Arijit Singh and Benny Dayal; all in all, a great mix.

    With the who’s who on the 3rd season of Unplugged, the list is sure to get the music buffs jumping with joy… but the excitement doesn’t end here.

    So what’s happening on the promotions front? To engage the fans in this musical revelry, MTV is having fans picked up in an official Unplugged gig bus from prime locations across the city to give them a front row view of some of the biggest music acts. All that fans need to do is put on their dancing shoes and hop on the bus to catch their favourite artists live in concert and the passes will be free.

    There are activities planned on the digital front as well; in the third season of Unplugged, giving fans a special treat; MTV will run a contest across its social media platforms to give 10 lucky fans a chance of being part of the MTV Unplugged experience. Each fan participating in this experience will get a wrist band which will not only serve as a memory of the experience but also as an entry badge. The band will also have a QR Code on it that leads to a personalised profile of all his activities at MTV Unplugged.

  • Nissan launches a musical TVC for Evalia created by TBWA/India

    Mumbai: Nissan Motor India has rolled out a new television campaign “Evalia Moves like Music” to promote the Nissan Evalia.

    The campaign has been created by TBWA/India and is on air across leading news and entertainment channels.

    The ad film aims to impart an emotional engagement between the customer and the vehicle through a fusion of classical and contemporary music while highlighting some of the features of Evalia like spaciousness and fuel efficiency.

    According to the company, the campaign reinforces the promise of world class product that Nissan provides to the Indian customer.

    In 60 seconds, the new Nissan Evalia TVC brings out the proposition of ‘moves like music‘ while driving. The campaign features six musicians – Sunidhi Chauhan, Swanand Kirkire, Anushka Manchanda, Andrea Jeremiah, Shantanu Moitra and Vijay Prakash – who create music while they travel together in the Nissan Evalia.

    Film music composer Clinton Cerejo has composed the number while Shimit Aminhas directed the ad.

    TBWAIndia NCD Rahul Sengupta said, “For Nissan Evalia, we‘ve highlighted its drivability by comparing its movements to graceful musical notes. In casting some very gifted musicians for the new campaign, ‘Moves like Music‘, we were able to show the Evalia as an enjoyable space, moving in a new direction from the conventional ‘show us more of the car‘ in the campaign.”

    The TV campaign will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign including a new print ad campaign. Apart from outdoors and increased visibility at trade outlets, Nissan is also executing a number of demand generation initiatives to reap maximum advantage of the new TVC.

    MUMBAI: In a first of its kind attempt, a radio station will partner with a television news channel to launch a musical show. Big FM and IBN 7 will come together to co produce ‘The BIG SHOW – Crazy Kiya Re’. The show will be broadcast on radio and television and will be hosted by RJ Aniruddh.

    The BIG SHOW – Crazy Kiya Re’ will have 13 episodes featuring musical talent in India in front of a studio audience. The show will premier on IBN 7 on Saturday 27 January at 10 pm with a repeat on Sunday at 7 pm.

    The show will be aired on the Delhi and Mumbai Big FM stations.BIG 92.7 FM is currently running its on-air contests to gather studio audience.

    The hour long BIG show – Crazy Kiya Re is a chat show featuring live performances by talented artists and accompanied by a top music band. The weekly show will see the RJ interact with the singers and get them to perform their favourite numbers. There will be six segments of the show and will have at least six different songs sung by the guest. Some of the guests lined up for the show include prominent singers like Kunal Ganjawala, Sudesh Bhosle and Sunidhi Chauhan.

    Disney’s dance contest ‘My School Rocks’ kicks off in Mumbai

    MUMBAI: Disney Channel’s interschool group-dance competition ‘My School Rocks’ kicked off in Mumbai today with students from over 50 schools in Mumbai competing to enter the semi finals of the contest.

    The performances from Mumbai kids will be pitted against schools from four other cities including Kolkata, Amritsar, New Delhi and Ahmedabad. Bollywood dance queen Saroj Khan will judge the competition and pronounce five schools with the best dancing talent as semi finalists.

    Vignettes of these five semi finalists’ performances will then be aired for audience poll via various voting mechanisms. The school to win the hearts of the viewers will take away the title – ‘My School Rocks’, states an official release.

    In addition, the winning group will star in a special music video which will be choreographed by Saroj Khan and will premier on Disney Channel on 25 December.

    Walt Disney Television International (India) executive director – programming and production Nachiket Pantvaidya said, “Disney Channel reflects real kids’ lives, their aspirations and dreams. ‘My School Rocks’ is all about encouraging kids to express themselves while learning the value of teamwork. As in the movie High School Musical, this contest is about believing in yourself and following your dreams.”

    Drawing inspiration from this year’s Disney Channel original movie High School Musical, particiapnts for My School Rocks were required to choreograph their own dance sequences to the High School Musical song ‘Ho ek hi aim’.
