    Damyant Singh Khanoria is Oppo India’s new CMO

    NEW DELHI: China-based global smart device brand Oppo has announced the appointment of Damyant Singh Khanoria as its new CMO for India operations. In his new role, Khanoria will be spearheading the marketing operations and will be reporting to Oppo India president Elvis Zhou.

    Khanoria comes to Oppo from Apple India where he was the marketing communication lead. He is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience and has worked across marketing portfolios. His experience in building and optimising go-to-market strategy for technology brands will be instrumental for the brand.

    Zhou said, “I am confident that his experience of connecting customer desires with business needs will help propel OPPO India to greater heights during its next phase of growth. On behalf of our entire team, I extend a warm welcome to Damyant.”

    Earlier this year, Oppo India VP of product and marketing Sumit Walia had put down his papers after a year-long association. He had joined Samsung post his exit. 

    He has also worked at Adidas, DDB Mudra, Hakuhodo, Bates India and Capital Advertising.

    NEW DELHI: Oppo India VP of product and marketing Sumit Walia has put down his papers. Walia joined the company last year April.

    Prior joining to Oppo India, Walia spent around nine-year stint at Samsung. He had joined the in 2010 as a product manager and left the organisation in 2019 as director.

    He has overall 15 years of experience and has worked with brands like Tata Tele Business Services, Huawei Technologies, LG Electronics, and Videocon Services.

    OPPO partners with Instagram for the ‘Challenge Yourself’ campaign for OPPO Reno 2

    MUMBAI: OPPO India announced the launch of a new marketing campaign, ‘Challenge Yourself’, in partnership with Instagram, to challenge GenZ and millennials to visually imagine the unthinkable with the OPPO Reno2. The campaign aims at highlighting the revolutionary OPPO Reno2 features such as the 20x Zoom, Ultra Dark Mode and the Ultra Steady Video, that empower people to discover new perspectives in photography.

    For years, people have stood in front of the Taj Mahal and got their pictures clicked in the same way. People click the same pictures of airline wings or the sunset or of feet on the beach. OPPO’s ‘Challenge Your Perspective’ campaign and the Indian version ‘Challenge Yourself’ campaign is built on this insight. OPPO has partnered with Instagram for the campaign to drive awareness and share the campaign message in a creative and authentic way.

    The campaign leverages the power of influencers to best represent the creativity and authenticity desired by the campaign. A #ChallengeYourself contest has also been initiated on Instagram to crowdsource meaningful consumer engagement. To participate, users need to visit the nearest OPPO store, capture creative content from Reno2 and upload it on OPPO’s Instagram handles using #OPPOReno2 and #ChallengeYourself. The best entries will stand a chance to win a new OPPO Reno2 EVERY HOUR! As an additional reward, few lucky winners will also have an opportunity to attend an Instagram mentoring session by Facebook India.

    Dedicated to pushing the boundaries in smartphone photography, the OPPO Reno2 comes equipped with 20x zoom quad camera that provides a full focal length imaging system; offering a 5x Hybrid Zoom with Optical Image Stabilization.     MUMBAI: OPPO India recently announced the appointment of Sumit Walia as vice president, product & marketing to further strengthen OPPO's product offering and establish a stronger connect with Indian consumers.

    In his new role, Walia will be spearheading the localisation efforts in product and marketing at OPPO India. Strategically appointed, he will be leading the India market and will be focussing on building and growing the OPPO brand in the highly competitive mobile handset space in India.

    Speaking on the appointment OPPO India CEO and OPPO South Asia president Charles Wong said, "In-line with OPPO India's localisation approach, we are happy to have Sumit Walia on-board with us.
