    Nxtdigital, Thaicom ink strategic partnership to deploy satellite broadband services in India

    Mumbai: Nxtdigital and Thaicom have signed a deal to form a strategic partnership to enter broadband-over-satellite (BoS) market and related services in India.

    The two companies have signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

    The partnership includes deployment of BoS systems on India-focused capacity, which could be enhanced to provide future additional capacity on a state-of-art software define high throughput satellite; augmenting the existing IPSTAR-1 which is the first broadband satellite in the world and operational over India for several years.

    Thaicom and Nxtdigital will look to provide BoS services immediately in IPSTAR-1 focusing mainly on the rural footprint in India, comprising 60 per cent of Nxtdigital customers through the only HITS (headend-in-the-sky) platform in India.

    “The BoS service will focus on providing cost-effective and quality broadband and will give a tremendous boost to delivering education, information, entertainment, health and other services to these markets,” said the statement.

    The details of partnership elements are being discussed and will be documented in definitive agreements between Thaicom and Nxtdigital.

    “We have always taken our commitment to the government’s digital India mission very seriously,” said Nxtdigital managing director and CEO Vynsley Fernandes. “With HITS, we now cover over 4,500 pin codes across India with a significant presence in not just rural India but also areas where terrain poses challenges to connectivity. Through this engagement with Thaicom, a global leader in satellite technology, we will look to facilitate digital inclusion across education, healthcare, information & entertainment – by extending satellite-based broadband connectivity and services to our customers there and also to the underserved and other poorly connected markets.”

    The two companies will also develop and offer digital solutions for the government that Thaicom has already developed and deployed elsewhere in the world including satellite artificial intelligence solutions comprising space-based data technologies for agriculture, disaster relief & natural resource management public WIFI systems and drones for augmenting rural digital solutions.

    “With India’s significant dependence on agriculture and the incumbent challenges of crop management – the satellite-based AI will help by providing mission-critical data on tap,” said the statement.

    Both companies will also set up a Centre for Excellence to develop new satellite and related digital-based technologies through artificial intelligence and analytics – leveraging deep-tech research and development.

    Mumbai: Warner Music India has announced a strategic partnership with Vishesh Films to distribute the music of Bollywood films under the studio’s banner. As part of this partnership, Warner Music India will be releasing two iconic soundtrack albums—”Awarapan” and “Dhokha”—across all local and global streaming platforms, and radio and television broadcasters.

    “Warner Music India hopes to expand the soundtracks albums’ existing significant fan base and younger audiences to experience the rich music in them,” said the statement.

    “We are delighted to partner with Vishesh Films, a name synonymous with chartbusting music,” commented Warner Music India and SAARC managing director Jay Mehta. “With this partnership, we aim to re-create the musical magic of their super-hit songs by taking them to the newer and younger audiences of today.”

Songs from the film “Dhoka” such as “Kab Tujhe” and “Roya Re” hit the right chord and have been equally loved by a huge audience.

    Binance announces strategic partnership with SM Brand Marketing

    Mumbai: Blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure platform Binance has signed a MoU to build a comprehensive partnership with SM Brand Marketing (SMBM), a subsidiary of a South Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment.

    As part of the comprehensive partnership, Binance and SMBM will establish a global Play-to-Create (P2C) ecosystem. The partnership will begin with cooperation in the NFT sector and the creation of a joint eco-fund.

    Conceptualised by Soo-Man Lee, the music executive of SM, P2C allows users to reproduce content using IP. “By using the tools and IP provided within the e-commerce and metaverse platforms, users can recreate content and products in the forms of games, music, dance, and goods,” said the statement.

    Within the P2C ecosystem, these contents and products can be converted into NFTs, allowing users to earn profits while also gaining recognition for their originality. The P2C ecosystem is a step forward from the existing Play-to-Earn (P2E) model, it added.

    “Binance is happy to be working with SMBM to advance the current P2E ecosystem into a P2C ecosystem,” said Binance NFT global head Helen Hai. “We would like to provide SMBM with the robust technology that can support the numerous Kpop global fans who enjoy recreating content based on their favorite Korean celebrities and want to earn passive income through their hobbies.”

    With the strategic partnership, Binance and SMBM will collaborate to create an ecosystem where global creators can easily participate in recreation using IP and profit from their original content and projects in a transparent manner. The P2C ecosystem created through recreation will also enhance the creative culture within the K-pop industry. Fans, artists, and companies are brought together to join forces on these e-commerce and metaverse platforms, the statement said.

    Binance and SMBM will be working jointly on the blockchain mainnet, NFT, and eco-fund to establish the P2C ecosystem. Binance will also provide the technology infrastructure for the overall blockchain and NFT ecosystem. Meanwhile, SMBM will provide the vast IPs managed by SM, including EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, and more, and support with content planning and platform construction, it added.

    “By combining together SM’s production capabilities, SMBM’s e-commerce platform capabilities, and Binance’s technology infrastructure, we expect this comprehensive partnership will bring great innovation in the establishment of the P2C ecosystem and expansion of businesses in the blockchain industry,” stated SMBM CEO Sung-su Lee. “It is also an opportunity for fans to build a new participatory creation culture through recreation and to gain economic benefits by being on the blockchain.”

    MUMBAI: Home interiors company, HomeLane has entered into a  three-year strategic partnership with Mahendra Singh Dhoni as an equity partner and brand ambassador.
