    Mumbai: Despicable Me 4 is set to make its debut on JioCinema Premium on 5 November. The latest installment returns with characters and new adventures, streaming in seven languages— English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Bengali— on JioCinema Premium.

    Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) faces a fresh challenge as he welcomes a new member to his family—Gru Jr. (voiced by Tara Strong). However, their peaceful life is disrupted when Maxime Le Mal (voiced by Will Ferrell) escapes from prison and vows revenge on Gru. As chaos ensues, Gru must team up with his family and the ever-adorable Minions to thwart Maxime’s sinister plans while navigating the ups and downs of fatherhood.

    Directed by Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage, Despicable Me 4 features a voice cast that includes returning favorites such as Kristen Wiig (Lucy Wilde), Miranda Cosgrove (Margo) and Pierre Coffin (the Minions). This animated adventure continues to explore themes of family, friendship and the importance of standing together in the face of adversity.

    MUMBAI: “A coach is a father. Coach is a mentor. Coach has great power on an athlete’s life,” says John Du Pont, the coach of team Foxcatcher.

    Sony Le Plex HD is all set to unfold critically acclaimed and award winning film Foxcatcher on 4 December at 1pm and 9pm time slot.

    Based on the real events surrounding wrestling enthusiast John Du Pont’s recruitment of Olympic gold medalist wrestler brothers Mark and Dave, and the succeeding murder, Sony Le Plex HD will showcase the Indian television premiere of the film in their slot Le Premiere.

    Directed by Bennett Miller, the film revolves around multimillionaire John du Pont (Steve Carell), who runs and funds a training academy after being unable to make a mark as a wrestler himself, due to family pressure.

    Along with nominations in five categories at Academy Awards, three in Golden Globe, and a nomination for the prestigious Palme d’Or, Bennett Miller won the Best Director Award for the film at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

    Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell cast in ‘The Big Short’

    MUMBAI: In a casting coup of sorts, Paramount Pictures’ has roped in Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell to star in The Big Short.

     

    The movie is being produced by Paramount Pictures along with New Regency and Plan B Entertainment. It will be directed by Adam McKay. The film also stars Melissa Leo and Marisa Tomei. 

     

    The film’s screenplay is written by McKay, from a script by Charles Randolph, based on Michael Lewis’ bestselling non-fiction book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine

     

    The Big Short is the remarkable true story of the genius contrarian investors who, recognizing just how insane the housing bubble had become, figured out how to “short” the market prior to the financial collapse of 2008.

     

    Rounding out the cast is Tracy Letts, Hamish Linklater, John Magaro, Byron Mann, Rafe Spall, Jeremy Strong and Finn Wittrock.

     

    Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will produce the movie via their Plan B Entertainment banner.  Production has begun in New Orleans.

    Britain does well at Rose d’Or awards nominations

    MUMBAI: British television shows and stars fared well at the nominations announced for the Rose d’Or Best Performance Awards.

    The awards, which take place in Switzerland on 29 April, recognise work in the comedy, sitcom, soap opera and game show genres. Britain got 10 out of the 21 nominations.

    Funny man Steve Carell stars in the American version of The Office, that got a nomination in the sitcom categeory. He will face off against Peter Capaldi for The Thick of It and Germany’s Bastian Pastewka.

    Ricky Gervais who created the sitcom will receive an honorary Rose d’Or Award. Stephen Fry is nominated for his role in hosting BBC Four’s show QI quiz. Extras and The Office are competing for best sitcom.

    The awards aim to reward originality, quality and creativity in entertainment programming from around the world.
