Star World Premiere HD to air MasterChef US Junior season 4

MUMBAI: Star World Premiere HD will be airing the fourth season of the culinary show MasterChef U.S. Junior. Season 4 will kick start from 19 December, 2015 and will air every Saturday at 8 pm.

This season’s jury comprises gastronomic connoisseur Gordon Ramsay, and culinary expert Christina Tosi who return with professional and renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi to judge this season.

The fourth season will witness 24 home cooks aged between 9 and 12 receiving their aprons from the chefs. The show will see the small hands creating delectable dishes that will not only leave the audiences with their mouths wide open but also the talented and recognised judges completely stunned.

Star World & Star World HD to air Season 1 of The Odd Couple

MUMBAI: Starting 18 December 2015, Star World and Star World HD will air the first season of one of American comedy series – The Odd Couple. The series stars Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon who are joined by an ensemble cast including Lindsay Sloane, Wendell Pierce and Yvette Nicole Brown.

Perry, who is not only starring, but is also an executive producer and co-wrote the pilot says, “I was a huge fan of the movie. I was too young to have seen the play, but I was a huge fan of the movie and then a gigantic fan of the TV show. Oscar and Felix are two of the most seminal characters of all time, so to bring it back and then be lucky enough to find Tom Lennon who plays Felix – and he is Felix, like he is exactly like the character – is fortunate.”

Lennon, who is also a huge fan of the original show said, “Most shows like the great show “Friends” are a pairing of either two or more people who for some reason are disjointed and don’t quite go together and we are so lucky that we had the actual title from the Neil Simon (version).”

The Odd Couple follows a multi-camera set up and is produced by CBS Television Studios. This is the sixth screen production of the play.

Season 1 of The Odd Couple starts on 18th December and will air from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm exclusively on Star World and Star World HD.

Star World & Star World HD to premiere the fourth and final season of ‘Revenge’

MUMBAI: Star World is all geared up to premiere the fourth and final season of the immensely popular drama series Revenge on 1 December 2015 at 11 pm.

Season 3 had ended with Victoria discovering the truth about Emily and she planned revenge against her for Pascal’s death. Daniel was framed for the death of a young girl by Margaux’s brother, who wished to take over Daniel’s position. Charlotte recognized that Jack was involved in her kidnapping and got the authorities to arrest him. Conrad was denied bail and returned to jail, but was released due to the benevolence of a mysterious benefactor. However, on his apparent road to freedom, his escape ride turned out to be none other than David Clarke, who promptly confronted a stunned Conrad and killed him. Aiden was killed when he was unwittingly lured into a trap set by Victoria. Angered, Emily retaliated by knocking out Victoria and having her committed to a mental health facility, fully completing her revenge.

Season 4 focuses on the revelation that David Clarke is alive. The continued feud between Emily and Victoria played by Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe respectively gets sharper here. Victoria would finally get to know Emily’s true identity and would seek her own revenge. As David returns to the Hamptons, the two women would fight to position him against the other.

Star World & Star World HD to premiere ‘UnREAL’

MUMBAI: Star World and Star World HD is all geared up to premiere UnREAL, an American dark comedy and reality dating series. The entire series will premiere on 19 and 20 December 2015 at 12 pm on Star World Weekend Binge, where viewers can watch the show uninterrupted. The series stars Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer in the lead role. The entire series will be aired on a single weekend for the binge viewers.

The provocative drama series will offer behind-the-scene glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a fictitious dating competition show titled as Everlasting, which happened to be a big hit with the audience. The series, co – created by Marti Noxon and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, will find a young producer Rachel Goldberg, played by Shiri Appleby, whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with and among the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer Quinn King, enacted by Constance Zimmer, demands.

Speaking about the new show, Sarah Gertrude Shapiro asserted, “It’s anyone who’s ever had a job really. I mean, it’s sort of about growing up in the world. I think it’s truly a quandary that most people can relate to, is how do you stay yourself and respect your morals as you become an adult.”

UnREAL also stars Craig Bierko, Chet, Freddie Stroma and Adam Cromwell. The plot of the show would have Josh Kelly playing the character of Jeremy, a cameraman who is Rachel’s ex-boyfriend. Siobhan Williams enacts the character of Lizzie, Jeremy’s current fiancée and on-set makeup artist. Everlasting’s contestants include Grace played by Nathalie Kelley, who is seen winning Adam’s heart in the show. Anna played by Johanna Braddy is shown as classy and shrewd with her eye on the prize. Faith, a sensitive and vulnerable tomboy from the South is portrayed by Breeda Wool and Mary is played by Ashley Scott, a gorgeous single mom who has been unlucky in love. Arielle Kebbel will guest star as Courtney, a contestant who has no filter and isn’t on Everlasting to make any friends.

Get ready for the Season 4 of Once Upon a Time with Star World and Star World HD

MUMBAI: Star World and Star World HD is back with a new story-line for Season 4 of Once Upon a Time. Once Upon a Time is a unique show where fairy tale legends collide with some characters from the earth. The show will premiere on 21 November 2015 at 12 pm and will be telecasted on 22, 28 and 29 November 2015.

Expect more magic and excitement this season, with elements from the movie Frozen and new characters like Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff, the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Little Bo Peep and Poseidon.

The channel also offers the audience to watch the Season 4 at one go, on Star World Weekend Binge.

The show has added two new adventurous elements to it for this season. The first half of the season will portray characters from the movie Frozen uniting with people in the world while the second half will observe an exiled Gold with Ursula, Cruella De Vil and Maleficent. The anti-heroes will be seen entering Storybrooke to get the happy ending that has eluded them since long.

Speaking about the show, Jennifer Morrison, who plays the role of Emma Swan says, “I need you to believe in Magic! We talk about magic in a very literal way on the show and part to what people relate to on the show is that in certain moments magic means love and in certain moments magic means adventure and in certain moments magic means loving your child or discovering your passion in life. I think we all sort of deal with magic in a metaphorical sense because I think it represents bigger things in life on Once Upon a Time whereas in the real world it wouldn’t be the same.”

BARC Week 45: Sun TV remains the forerunner across genres, Star World and Star Plus dominate English and Hindi GEC

MUMBAI: Sun TV remained at the pole position across all genres. Star plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GECs) genre. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd’s (Zeel) free to air (FTA) channel Zee Anmol bagged the second place this week also. Color gained a place to the third spot whereas Zee TV fell to fourth place in week 45 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India all India (U + R) data. In the English GEC genre Star World continued to lead.

Hindi GECs:

Star Plus led the Hindi GEC genre with 748197 (000Sums), while Zee Anmol bagged the second position with 717923 (000Sums). Colors secured third spot with 656542 (000Sums), Zee TV fell to fourth position with 638475 (000Sums), followed by STAR Utsav gaining one spot and rising to fifth place with 499228 (000Sums).

Life Ok fell to sixth place with 441912 (000Sums). FTA channel Sony Sab stood at the sixth spot with 337535 (000Sums), whereas Sony Pal slipped to seventh position with 306217 (000Sums). Sony Entertainment Television climbed down to eighth spot with 301587 (000Sums), while Rishtey remained at the tenth slot as in previous week with 282623 (000Sums).

English GECs:

Star World bagged the first position with 174 (000Sums) followed by Comedy Central with 165 (000Sums). AXN slipped to third position with 158 (000Sums). Zee Café came down to fourth position with 146 (000Sums) whereas Colors Infinity SD stood at fifth position with 97 (000Sums)

Regional Channels:

Zee Marathi lead in the Marathi channels genre with 135219 (000Sums), while the second spot was bagged by Colors Marathi with 67544 (000Sums). The third spot was gained by Zee Talkies with 64649 (000Sums) followed by Star Pravah with 47330 (000Sums) at fourth position. The fifth place was bagged by Maiboli with 24298 (000Sums).

In the Tamil Regional channels genre, Sun TV retrained the first spot with 1108892 (000Sums). KTV bagged the second spot with 360611 (000Sums) followed by Star Vijay on third spot with 208399 (000Sums). Fourth and Fifth spots were bagged by Polimer with 110618 (000Sums) and Jaya TV with 103161 (000Sums).

Star India set to up Kevin Vaz, Gaurav Banerjee

MUMBAI: In a major shuffle of roles, Star India is all set to promote two of its senior employees with extended roles.

Star India business head – English cluster, Star Jalsha, Jalsha Movies and Channel V Kevin Vaz is all set to take additional responsibility of the network’s Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs). With this, Vaz will now also head Star Plus and Life OK in addition to FX, Fox Crime, Star World, Star World HD, Star World Premiere HD, Star Movies, Star Movies Action, Star Jalsha, Jalsha Movies and Channel V. The total number of channels under him now tot up to 12. It may be recalled that Channel V fell into Vaz’s portfolio only earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Star India executive vice president – content strategy Gaurav Banerjee has been upped as the deputy chief creative officer – content studio.

Confirming the development to Indiantelevision.com, a source said, “It’s just a reward to their respective contribution to the network.”

Vaz joined Star India in the mid 90s, while Banerjee was roped in by his mentor Star India CEO Uday Shankar in 2008 to kick-start the broadcaster’s regional news channel business.

At the time of filing this story, Vaz and Banerjee were unavailable for comment.

BCCC raps Star World for homosexual content in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

MUMBAI: The self-regulatory body for non-news entertainment channels, Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC), has pulled up Star India’s English entertainment channel Star World for airing, what it calls “objectionable” content, in its popular medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.

The scene exhibits homosexual encounter in the broadcast, which was reported objectionable by the regulatory body in the month of June.

The notice followed complaints from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB).

The BCCC has filled a report over a scene in which one of the characters in the series asks her male colleague to teach her how to satisfy her partner sexually by demonstrating it.

Grey’s Anatomy follows the lives of surgeons in a fictional setup and has been on air for over a decade.

MUMBAI: It’s that time of the year when giving your nerves a jolt of terror feels like the right thing to do. It’s the time when the moon becomes a brute and black cats are seen. FX has upped its creepy ante by airing the American Horror Story: Hotel with it’s Halloween special episode 4, Devil’s Night. The episode showcases some gruesome incidents influenced by the supernatural that take place within the walls of Hotel Cortez. It will see devils at play, vampires continue to feast and the eeriness of Hotel Cortez goes up a notch. The special episode will air on 31 October 2015 at 11 pm.

Star World

Tune-in to the channel for a spookier ride this Halloween by watching episodes 13 – 18 of Sleepy Hollowseason 2 airing on 31 October at 12 pm. The show is a thrilling, mystery adventure drama series spanning two and a half centuries, in which a resurrected Ichabod Crane pairs up with a present-day cop to save the enigmatic town of Sleepy Hollow and the world from unprecedented evil.

AXN

AXN will premier the episodes of Penny Dreadful season 2 all night long this Halloween. This season of the second part horror-thriller will intertwine the lives of men and monsters. It opens with Vanessa Ives and her allies finding themselves locked in epic battle against an unholy evil. The episodes will air 12 am onwards on 31 October.

Comedy Central

The channel will air Deadbeat all night this season from 12 am. The series revolves around a lazy slacker and a medium for hire, who attempts to solve various ghosts’ unresolved issues, so that they can move on to a final resting place, occasionally with the help of his best friend and drug dealer.

Comedy Central gains in BARC week 42

MUMBAI: Comedy Central secured leadership position in the English general entertainment channel (GECs) genre in All the India (Urban + Rural) market. On the other hand, Zee Café, which was leading last week, stood at number three according to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data in week 42.

Comedy Central led the English GEC genre with 195 (000Sums) followed by AXN in the second slot with 144 (000Sums) followed by Zee Cafe with 124 (000Sums).

Star World with 94 (000Sums) and Colors Infinity SD with 70 (000Sums) bagged the fourth and fifth berth respectively.
