    Star Utsav leads Rural HSM while Star Plus continues to no. 1 in Urban HSM

    MUMBAI: In week 21 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, Star Utsav toppled Sony Pal this week to claim number one position in Rural Hindi Speaking market (HSM) whereas Star Plus continued to lead the Urban HSM.  

    Rural HSM Data

    Star Utsav garnered the first position with 369244 Impressions (000’s) followed by Sony Pal with 344698 Impressions (000’s) and Zee Anmol with 320136 Impressions (000’s) stood at number three.

    Zee Networks’ Hindi GEC channel Zee TV bagged the fourth spot with 232232 Impressions (000’s) while another FTA Rishtey grabbed fifth spot with 228257 Impressions (000’s).

    Star Plus stood at sixth spot with 219739 Impressions (000’s) followed by Colors at number seven with 216100 Impressions (000’s) and Big Magic at number eight with 157418 Impressions (000’s).

    In rural data, Life OK stood at number nine with 154986 Impressions (000’s) and Sab TV with 104568 Impressions (000’s) grabbed tenth spot.

    Urban HSM data

    Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GECs) with 429608 Impressions (000’s) followed by Colors with 428420 (000’s) on second slot and Zee TV with 291806 Impressions (000’s) at third place.

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Channel bagged fourth, fifth and sixth position with 270565 Impressions (000’s), 240562 Impressions (000’s) and 233351 Impressions (000’s) respectively.

    Sony’s free to air channel Sony Pal grabbed seventh spot with 121712 (000’s) and pushed &TV down to eighth spot with 109531 Impressions (000’s).

    Star Utsav stood at number ninth berth with 108359 Impressions (000’s) while Zee Anmol grabbed tenth place at 91176 Impressions (000’s)

    MUMBAI:  Sun TV continued its run a the top position in week 21 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data, followed by last week second place holder Sony Max. The first five positions from week 20 remained unchanged in week 21.

    The last five saw movement, a new entry and an exit. Star Utsav moved up a place to sixth from last week’s seventh. Zee Anmol exited the list. Maa TV entered the list at tenth place, with its peer in the Telugu space Zee Telugu moving up to eighth place from the tenth place it held in the previous week. The list covers the top 10 channels across all genres.

    Placed at the top slot, Sun TV reported higher ratings in week 21 at 965644 Impression (000s) as compared to 950618 Impression (000s) in week 20. Sony Max with a score of 884251 Impression (000s) as compared to 881515 Impression (000s) week 20 retained second position.

    Star Plus also retained the number three slot in week 21 with a slightly lower 701975Impression (000s) in week 21 as compared t0 702036 Impression (000s) in the previous week. Colors also retained fourth place with 679907 Impressions (000s) as compared with 668837 Impressions in week 20

    MUMBAI: Week 20 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data has been seeing the pendulum shift back and forth as the IPL season 9 backed Sony Max was again relegated to second spot by Sun TV and by a substantial margin at that. Star Utsav moved up to seventh from the tenth position in week 19, while Zee Telugu, the only other regional channel among the top 10, returned to tenth place from the previous week’s ninth slot. The list covers the top 10 channels across all genres.

    Returning to the top slot once again, Sun TV reported 950618 Impression (000s) in week 20 as compared to 944626 Impression (000s) in week 19. Sony Max lost ratings with a score of 881515 Impression (000s) from 944851 Impression (000s) in week 19 to fall back to second place.

    In the ding dong battle between third and fourth spots, Star Plus once again climbed to number three in week 20 with 702036 Impression (000s) as compared to 664177 Impressions (000s) in week 19. Colors was fourth with 668837 Impressions (000s) as compared to 703707 Impression (000s) in week 19

    Zee TV retained fifth space in week 20 with lower ratings of 627367 Impressions (000s) as compared to 639647 Impressions (000s) in the previous week. Sony Pal remained at number six with 497247 Impressions (000s) as compared to 503774 Impressions (000s) to the previous weeks ratings

    Star Utsav moved up to seventh place while pushing down Zee Anmol in week 20, with 461430 Impressions (000’s) as compared to 453454 Impressions (000’s) in week 19

    Life OK also retained eighth spot with 456716 Impressions (000s) as compared to the previous week’s 471354 Impressions (000s).

    Zee Anmol moved down two places to ninth place in week 20 with 451646 Impressions (000s) as compared to 500101 Impressions (000s) in week 19.

    The only other regional channel in the list of top ten channels across genres, Zee Telugu, returned back to tenth spot in week 20 with 432613 Impressions (000s) as compared to 46866 Impressions (000s) in week 19.

    MUMBAI: Channels run on their popularity and reach more than anything else, and BARC is the ladder to measure that. Week 19 of BARC rating has yet again delivered a game-changing data break-up by dividing ratings into rural and urban categories. 

    In week 19, Broadcasters’ free to air channel (FTA) have madetheir its presence in top five channels across Rural Hindi speaking market (HSM) where Zee Networks’ FTA Zee Anmol topped the chart. 

    Rural HSM Data 

    Zee Anmol garnered the first position with 397738 Impressions (000’s) followed by Sony Pictures Network’s free to air channel Sony Pal with 386861 Impressions (000’s) and Star India’s FTA channel Star Utsav with 355620 Impressions (000’s) stood at number three. 

    Zee Networks’ Hindi GEC channel Zee TV bagged the fourth spot with 283082 Impressions (000’s) while another FTA Rishtey grabbed fifth spot with 282625 Impressions (000’s). 

    Colors stood at sixth spot with 233354 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus at number seven with 202257 Impressions (000’s) and Life OK at number eight with 170238 Impressions (000’s). 

    In rural data, Big Magic stood at number nine with 139427 Impressions (000’s) and Sab TV with 109515 Impressions (000’s) grabbed tenth spot. 

    Urban HSM data 

    On the other hand, in Urban HSM, Colors lead the Hindi general entertainment channel (GECs) with 431346 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus with 413580 (000’s) on second slot and Zee TV with 311583 Impressions (000’s) at third place.

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Channel bagged fourth, fifth and sixth position with 287442 Impressions (000’s), 241700 Impressions (000’s) and 207012 Impressions (000’s) respectively. 

    On the other hand, &TV made its entry in top ten channels across Urban HSM with 119686 Impressions (000’s) at number seven while Sony’s free to air channel Sony Pal grabbed eighth spot with 115399 (000’s) and Zee Anmol at ninth with 101704 Impressions (000’s). 

    Star Utsav  stood at number ten with 95186 Impressions (000’s)

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Channel bagged fourth, fifth and sixth position with 287442 Impressions (000’s), 241700 Impressions (000’s) and 207012 Impressions (000’s) respectively. 

    On the other hand, &TV made its entry in top ten channels across Urban HSM with 119686 Impressions (000’s) at number seven while Sony’s free to air channel Sony Pal grabbed eighth spot with 115399 (000’s) and Zee Anmol at ninth with 101704 Impressions (000’s). 

    Star Utsav  stood at number ten with 95186 Impressions (000’s)

    MUMBAI: The race of being a number one channel in Hindi general entertainment channels keep continues and week 18 witnessed Colors replacing Star Plus to be the leader in the space in the HSM market. On the other hand Sony’s The Kapil Sharma Show exited the top five programmes list while Colors’ Naagin continued to dominate the segment. 

    Colors  garnered the leadership position  in the HSM market with 656335 Impressions (000’s) and pushed down Star Plus to second slot with 646994 Impressions (000’s).

    Zee TV regained its third position with 598251 Impressions (000’s) followed by free to air channels Sony Pal on fourth and Zee Anmol on fifth spot with 533928 Impressions and 506203 Impressions respectively. 

    Star Utsav bagged sixth slot with 464727 Impressions (000’s) followed by Life OK which stood on seventh with 458127 Impressions (000’s). Rishtey bagged the eighth spot with 378935 Impressions (000’s). 

    Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television, both witnessed a fall  in ratings this week. Sab TV was at the ninth  with 345464 Impressions (000’s) against  359899 Impressions (000s) in week 17 whereas Sony TV stood at tenth with 297283 Impressions (000’s) against  347921 Impressions (000s).

    In the top five programmes of Hindi GEC, Colors Naagin continued  to dominate the genre with 17650 Impressions (000’s) while Zee TV’s prime time show Kumkum Bhagya bagged the second slot with 12954 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus’ prime time show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya at third and fourth slot with 10612 Impressions (000’s) and 10257 Impressions (000’s) respectively. Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar grabbed the fifth slot with 9101 Impressions (000’s).

    MUMBAI: In Week 17 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) All India data, Star Plus regained its leadership position across Hindi general entertainment channels(GEC) while free to air (FTA) channel Sony Pal replaced Zee TV at third slot. On the other hand, Sony’s The Kapil Sharma Show made its entry in top five programmes of Hindi GEC.

    Star Plus garnered the leadership position  with 692202 Impressions (000’s) and pushed down Colors to second slot with 679642 Impressions (000’s). 

    Sony Pal climbed up and replaced Zee TV at third spot with 548932 Impressions (000’s) while Zee TV secured fourth spot in the list with 533468 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Utsav on fifth spot with 482952 Impressions (000s) and Life OK stood at number six with 478240 Impressions (000s). 

    Zee Anmol bagged the seventh  position with 474113 Impressions’ (000s) followed by Rishtey at number eight with 411338 Impressions (000s). 

    SPN’s Hindi GEC channels Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television, both witnessed a hike in ratings this week. Sab TV grabbed the ninth  with 359899 Impressions (000s) whereas Sony TV stood at tenth with 347921 Impressions (000s) against 278738 Impressions (000s) in previous week.

    The Kapil Sharma Show made its entry in top five programmes of Hindi GEC, while Colors’ Naagin continued to lead the list followed by Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV and Saath Nibhana Saathiya on fourth spot.
