    Star Sports launches Hero U-17 Women’s Championship Campaign #GroundsKnowNoGender

    The Hero U-17 Women’s Championship 2019, organized by Football Sports Development Limited will get underway from Monday, November 11, 2019 in Kalyani, West Bengal. The tournament was announced earlier this year by FSDL Chairperson Smt Nita Mukesh Ambani while addressing the Indian Super League (ISL) club owners' meet, which was also attended by All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Praful Patel.

    Aimed at helping India select its players for the 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, to be held in the country, the 7-day tournament will have 4 teams competing against each other. The four-teams – Panthers, Tigresses, Lionesses and Cheetahs, will face each other once in a round robin format. A total of 73 players will be pitted against each other as part of the 4 teams, with each team having a 5-member support staff consisting of a Head Coach, Asst Coach, GK Coach, Physio and Team Manager.  Coached by India’s national U-19 women’s team coach, Alex Ambrose, the Lionesses will certainly pose a threat to the other teams along with a great learning experience. However, basis sheer prowess on paper, Cheetahs are expected to be boosted by Indian football legend and Arjuna Awardee, Oinam Bembem Devi. There will be no lack of experience and expertise as Tigresses and Panthers will be coached by former U-14 women’s team coach Priya and former India national team member Subhash Chakraborty. Organised under the aegis of the All India Football Federation, the tournament final will be played between the top 2 sides on Sunday, November 17, in Kalyani.

    MUMBAI: The ‘Men in Blue’ have embarked on their quest to bring the ICC T20 World Cup Trophy home next year, beginning with the home season of cricket on Star Sports with South Africa tour of India that started on September 15th. Mission 2020 will showcase all India matches as they prepare for the ultimate championship in Australia, 13 months from now, where they will fight their hardest to bring the ICC T20 World Cup trophy home which they last won 13 years ago.

    MUMBAI: Star India will be launching its next sports regional offering in the form of Star Sports Marathi. The sports channel is set to launch on 15 July.

    Viewers who wish to opt for the channel can get it for Rs 19.

    A tweet shared by the company's official handle said: "Star Sports 1 Marathi will launch on July 15. Please contact your service provider regarding its availability." 

    A while ago, Star Sports received clearances from the ministry to launch its regional sports channels. 

    Soon after it renamed Star Movies Kids and Star Movies Kids HD as Star Sports 1 Bangla and Star Sports 1 Marathi. Star Sports 1 Bangla was launched on 5 March with an a-la-carte price of Rs 19.

    Going regional has been a strategy that Star India has adopted, especially for its sports channels. Now it has a total of six regional channels including Tamil,

    MUMBAI: Star Sports, India’s leading sports broadcaster has announced the launch of the national campaign for Season 7 of VIVO Pro Kabaddi League. Depicting Kabaddi as a tough sport, the campaign highlights key aspects that players build over the course of the season which include strength, agility and absolute brute power. The campaign is conceptualized and created by the in-house creative team at Star Sports and was launched during the most anticipated clash between India and England at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Sunday across TV and Digital mediums.

    The first TVC in the series stars Telugu Titans ace defender Vishal Bharadwaj. The other films that follow, feature kabaddi heroes such as ‘The Showman’ Rahul Chaudhari and Siddharth ‘Bahubali’ Desai.

    Siddharth ‘Bahubali’ Desai, star raider of Telugu Titans who features in the campaign said, “The journey of being a kabaddi player is extremely tough; it involves intense practice to become highly skilled at the sport. I have battled it hard to get back to my fittest self after the injury I sustained last season.
