    Star Plus leads urban market chart in BARC week 39

    MUMBAI: ZEE Anmol continues to lead the Hindi (U+R) genre in Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data for week 39 of 2018. Star Bharat and Dangal TV again interchanged their respective positions in the rural market. Colors dropped to third place as Star Plus occupied the first place in the urban market. Star Bharat and Sony Pal climbed three slot each in Hindi (U+R) market.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol continued its leadership and remained on the first place with 775521 impressions ‘000s. Star Utsav also maintained its second position for another week with 730938 impressions ‘000s. Lifting off from the fifth place, Star Plus took the third position with 674836 impressions ‘000s replacing Colors which fell down to the sixth place with 634604 impressions ‘000s.

    Star Bharat and Sony Pal climbed three slots each to the fourth and fifth place with 652806 impressions ‘000s and 645457 impressions ‘000s, respectively. Zee TV dropped by three spots to the seventh position with 613238 impressions ‘000s followed by Sony Entertainment Television which dropped two slots to eighth place with 594293 impressions ‘000s. Sony Sab and Rishtey are at ninth and tenth position with 456625 impressions ‘000s and 449926 impressions ‘000s after interchanging their positions.

    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol, Star Utsav and Sony Pal held on to their top three positions with 626235 impressions ‘000s, 510571 impressions ‘000s, 456799 impressions ‘000s, respectively.

    Rishtey also retained its fourth position with 345575 impressions ‘000s. Star Bharat at fifth place with 339485 impressions ‘000s and Dangal TV at sixth place with 325235 impressions ‘000s again interchanged their positions. Colors with 189131 impressions ‘000s moved to the tenth place as Star Plus occupied the ninth place with 212907 impressions ‘000s. Zee TV at seventh place with 235368 impressions ‘000s and Big Magic at eighth place with 223175 impressions ‘000s hold on to their positions as last week.

    Hindi Urban GEC

    Star Plus occupied the first place with 461929 impressions ‘000s in the urban market replacing Colors which went down to the third position with 445474 impressions ‘000s. Sony Entertainment Television climbed one slot to take the second spot with 445792 impressions ‘000s.

    Zee TV was at fourth place with 377869 impressions ‘000s, Sony Sab at fifth place with 336108 impressions ‘000s, Star Bharat at sixth place with 313321 impressions ‘000s and Star Utsav at seventh place with 220367 impressions ‘000s.

    Sony Pal was at eighth place with 188659 impressions ‘000s and Zee Anmol at ninth place with 149286 impressions ‘000s have swapped their positions. &TV is at tenth place with 134300 impressions ‘000s.

    MUMBAI: Star Utsav emerged as the leader by dethroning Colors in Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data for week 31 of 2018 in the Hindi GEC (U+R) market. Star Bharat and Rishtey swapped their fourth and fifth positions in the rural market while Star Plus pushed Colors to the second position and emerged as the leader as compared to the previous week in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Star Utsav emerged as the leader by dethroning Colors with 672028 impressions (000s) sum. Zee TV stood at second position with 662938 impressions (000s) sum. Zee Anmol climbed to the third position from ninth position as compared to the previous year with 652641 impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Bharat, Star Plus, Colors, Sony Pal, Rishtey, Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Sab stood at fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 638043 impressions (000s) sum, 629941 impressions (000s) sum, 602352 impressions (000s) sum, 582609 impressions (000s) sum, 526501 impressions (000s) sum, 498865 impressions (000s) sum and 456529 impressions (000s) sum respectively. 

    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol, Star Utsav and Sony Pal retained their first, second and third positions respectively with 512949 impressions (000s) sum, 476194 impressions (000s) sum, and 404831 impressions (000s) sum. Star Bharat and Rishtey swapped their fourth and fifth positions with 388943 impressions (000s) sum and 322204 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Dangal TV, Zee TV, Big Magic, Colors and Star Plus retained their sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 307573 impressions (000s) sum, 261511 impressions (000s) sum, 198768 impressions (000s) sum, 184927 impressions (000s) sum and 179438 impressions (000s) sum respectively. 

    Hindi Urban GEC

    In urban GEC, Star Plus pushed Colors to the second position and emerged as the leader in 450504 impressions (000s) sum. Colors stood at second position with 417425 impressions (000s) sum.

    Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Sab, Star Bharat, Star Utsav, Sony Pal and Zee Anmol retained their third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth positions with 401427 impressions (000s) sum, 365339 impressions (000s) sum, 345253 impressions (000s) sum, 315840 impressions (000s) sum, 195834 impressions (000s) sum, 177778 impressions (000s) sum and 139693 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Rishtey emerged as the new entrant by dethroning &TV from the tenth position with 137558 impressions (000s) sum.

    ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ season 2 to return on Star Plus

    MUMBAI: One of the love sagas by Ekta Kapoor, Kasauti Zindagi Kay is all set to hit the small screen after 17 years. The third longest running show from the K-series is back again on Star Plus. Produced by Balaji telefilms, the show successfully ran for seven years with Shweta Tiwari as Prerna, Cezanne Khan as Anurag Basu and Ronit Roy as Mr Bajaj.

    Recently, the first promo of Kasautii Zindagii Kay was released. The promo features Erica Fernandes as Prerna in the show, while the male lead will be played by Parth Samthaan.

    On this, Ekta Kapoor used social media to convey that “Love never dies!!! When you think it’s over, it returns! Here it is Kasauti Zindagi Kay!”

    Kasauti was one of the most successful shows, not just for Balaji Telefilms but also Star Plus. The channel, which is currently facing a hard time owing to low ratings, has been brainstorming on ideas to get its audience back. It may be difficult to imagine new faces in these roles. But as hinted by Ekta in the post, the rebooted version will also be an emotional drive and audience will love this season as well.

While no changes were observed in the rural market, all the top 10 channels retained their positions as compared to the previous week in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol and Zee TV retained their first and second positions with 719829 impressions (000s) sum and 614367 impressions (000s) sum respectively. Zee TV, Star Bharat, Colors and Sony Pal stood at second, third, fourth and fifth positions with 582960 impressions (000s) sum, 565587 impressions (000s) sum, 564746 impressions (000s) sum and 540331 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Sony Pal, Colors, Star Bharat, Star Utsav and Star Plus stood at 552330 impressions (000s) sum, 552010 impressions (000s) sum, 545871 impressions (000s) sum, 508738 impressions (000s) sum and 487574 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Rishtey, Sony Sab and Sony Entertainment Television retained their eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 445400 impressions (000s) sum, 401353 impressions (000s) sum and 362280 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    No changes were observed. While  Rishtey and Star Utsav swapped their third and fourth positions in the rural market,  Zee TV and Star Plus exchanged second and third positions in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Zee TV, Star Bharat and Colors retained their first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions with with 745706 impressions (000s) sum, 599068 impressions (000s) sum, 572708 impressions (000s) sum, 568791 impressions (000s) sum and 556889 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pal, Zee Anmol, Star Utsav and Rishtey retained their sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with  240238 impressions (000s) sum and 179237 impressions (000s) sum, 175355 impressions (000s) sum,148298 impressions (000s) sum and137718 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

While Star Utsav and Rishtey swapped their third and fourth positions in the rural market, Star Plus and Zee TV exchanged second and third positions in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Zee TV, Star Bharat and Colors maintained first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions with with 772625 impressions (000s) sum, 616233 impressions (000s) sum, 552159 impressions (000s) sum, 544769 impressions (000s) sum and 529007 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    MUMBAI: Viacom18’s free to air (FTA) channel Rishtey witnessed a drop of five places, from second to seventh, as compared to last week in Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data for week 23 of 2018 in the Hindi GEC (U+R) market. While Sony Pal and Rishtey exchanged their second and third positions in the rural market, Colors secured first position by overtaking Zee TV in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol maintained its top spot with 803634 impressions (000s) sum. Sony Pal moved up from fourth to second with 651390 impressions (000s) sum, while Zee TV retained its third position with 599049 impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Bharat, Colors and Star Utsav were placed fourth, fifth and sixth with 555751 impressions (000s) sum, 547437 impressions (000s) sum and 520461 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Rishtey slipped to the seventh from second this week with 506821 impressions (000s) sum, with Star Plus in eighth position with 458688 impressions (000s) sum.

    Sony Sab and Sony Entertainment Television retained their ninth and tenth positions with with 385499 impressions (000s) sum, 344248 impressions (000s) sum respectively.
    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol continued to dominate up top with 613371 impressions (000s) sum. Sony Pal and Rishtey exchanged their second and third positions with445464 impressions (000s) sum and 363250 impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Utsav, Star Bharat Zee TV, Big Magic and Dangal TV retained their fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth positions respectively with 362717impressions (000s) sum, 288306 impressions (000s) sum, 236887 impressions (000s) sum, 200328 impressions (000s) sum and 199370 impressions (000s) sum.

    Colors andf Star Plus swapped their ninth and tenth positions with 164420 impressions (000s) sum and 137157 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    In urban GEC, Colors secured first position this week edging out Zee TV with 383017 impressions (000s) sum. Zee TV stood at the second position with 362163 impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Plus and Sony Sab were at third and fourth places with 321530 impressions (000s) sum and 287745 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Star Bharat and Sony Entertainment Television retained their fifth and sixth positions with 267446 impressions (000s) sum and 260522 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Sony Pal, Zee Anmol, Star Utsav and Rishtey were at seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 205926 impressions (000s), 190263 impressions (000s), 157744 impressions (000s) and 143572 impressions (000s)  respectively.

While there were no changes in the rural markets, Sony Sab and Colors exchanged their third and fourth positions in the GEC urban market this week. 

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol and Rishtey retained their first and second positions with 821672 impressions (000s) and 665332 impressions (000s) respectively. Zee TV and Sony Pal swapped their third and fourth positions with 592858 impressions (000s) and 577214 impressions (000s) respectively.  

    Star Bharat, Star Utsav, Star Plus, Colors, Sony Sab and Sony Entertainment Television retained their fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions with with 536573 impressions (000s), 490206 impressions (000s), 447354 impressions (000s), 391757 impressions (000s), 387189 impressions (000s) and 340834 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Sony Sab and Colors exchanged their third and fourth positions with 287594 impressions (000s) and 281435 impressions (000s) respectively.

    Star Bharat and Sony Entertainment Television retained their fifth and sixth positions respectively with 260743 impressions (000s) and 258833impressions (000s).

    Rishtey, Sony Pal, Zee Anmol and Star Utsav stood at seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively with 197019 impressions (000s), 193766impressions (000s), 187629 impressions (000s) and 143857 impressions (000s).
