    It’s Sunny on ‘Star Giraftaar’

    ETC Music is bringing the tough Jat of Hindi film industry, Sunny Deol on Star Giraftaar for the May 'Sunny' month. In an interesting interview, with the anchor Suresh Menon on 4 May at 7:30 pm.

    In the half an hour chit -chat show the artiste will talk about their professional achievements, tender memories, pasand, napasand, childhood, family and friends, besides songs and scenes from his forthcoming film Jo Bole So Nihal.

    MUMBAI: etc’s got a makeover done. Adopting the philosophy of change being the only constant and permanent force, the music channel went shopping to adorn a fresh face with a lot of zing.
     

    The outcome of that was one, a brand new channel ID. Two, more Bollywood centric and three more contemporary to films and music. Another key change that the channel has incorporated are new Bill Boards. Star Giraftaar, Once More and Pop Ki Aandhi have all been propped up with new and trendy designer labels, the channel claims.

    Besides the labels of various shows ETC has also added a fresh show Guest Appearance to the channel’s kitty. One feature that the channel claims is that it has kept their power packed programming blend of film and music intact.

    According to the company release, Tam data states that the average of six months period (25/1/2004 to 26/6/2004, All India Market, 15 minutes + and age 4+) Channel Share of ETC music is 28 per cent, MTV is 23 per cent, Channel [V] is 15 per cent, B4U is 8 per cent, CMM is 5 per cent, and Zee Music is 21 per cent. Hence showing that ETC reigned supreme during this period.

    Amongst the 15 to 34 years SEC ABC (27/06/2004 to 3/07/2004) ETC says Tam data states that the channel led with a market share of 35 per cent while competition, that is MTV was 22 per cent, Channel [V] was 17 per cent, B4U was 8 per cent, CMM was 2 per cent and Zee Music was 16 per cent.

    Commenting on these changes and innovations ETC Networks CEO Jagjit Singh Kohli says, “We have brought in this change for a fresher, slicker and smarter look. New channel promo is certainly more vocal of its content and focus. New packaging is something that the viewers can relate still better with etc and its programmes. This is in synch with our commitment to Hindi films and music.”

    Etc would be bringing Abhishek Bachchan as Star Giraftaar for April, capturing him in a candid conversation on the channel on 28 April 2004 at 7.30 pm.

    The star will discuss his journey from his first film Refugee to the latest Run in a bindaas and animated conversation with etc anchor Suresh Menon, in the etc studio garden.

    With his forth coming movies Yuva and Run to hit the screen soon, Bachchan junior will chat about his previous films, his joys, his highs in life and his disappointments, his family and the industry in general with uncanny honesty.

    "I don't know why this film is called Run. I am really not running anywhere in it," he tells Suresh with a laugh about his latest film. He further adds, "My co-star Bhumika is so natural and so shy that it was refreshing to work with her. She was also like my buffer with the rest of the unit because I didn't know the language."

    Star Giraftaar is a monthly slot where etc presents popular Hindi film personalities in its half an hour special show . Besides this, etc also shows the songs and scenes from the star's forthcoming film throughout the month. Etc also telecasts few special capsules called Its My Pasand where the star talks about his likes and dislikes in very witty style.

    The show will be repeated on Thursday 29 April at 1.30 pm.

    etc is bringing Aftaab Shivdasani in a frank and witty conversation with Suresh Menon on Star Giraftaar all of February.

    Aftaab Shivdasani will appear on etc in Chit Chaat on 11 February at 7.30 pm with a repeat telecast on 12 February at 1.30 pm. He will talk about himself and his career. etc will also telecast special capsules called Its My Pasand where he will disclose interesting facets of his personality.

    Star Giraftaar is a special slot on etc in which an established Bollywood star appears on the channel to allow the viewers a peek in their life in Bollywood. The star also unfolds some unknown aspects of their personal life. Besides telecasting special half an hour show with the star, etc also plays songs and scenes from their forthcoming film for the entire month.

    A versatile artiste, Aftaab is playing the character of Super Fashion Designer in his forthcoming venture Muskaan. "Basic story of the film has so many twists, thrills and lots of love. But my role is not the stereo type. No one can say that this is a character that I have played earlier. I have consciously decided to take assignments that can offer me variety,” he explains while talking about this film, interesting experiences during the making of the film, his vibes with co stars and his role to Menon.

    Talking about his development as an artiste and how he allows the director to take control of actor within him he says, "I never interfere or give suggestions. That is the job of my director. I prefer to act."

    Raveena ‘Giraftaar’ on etc next week

    Joining the bandwagon of Bollywood based shows, Star Giraftaar a special slot on etc, seeks to give its viewers a peek into the private and professional lives of actors and actresses.

    In the first of two episodes, to be aired on 20 September at 8:30 pm, the viewers will get to meet the vivacious Raveena Tandon and learn about her comeback through her latest films 'Soch' and 'Agnivarsha'. The show will trace her journey into the film world and discuss issues close to her heart.

    The show anchored by Tarana, will be telecast on 20 September at 8:30pm with a repeat on Saturday at 1:30 pm. The second episode featuring Raveena will be aired on 26 September at 7:30 pm.
