    Star Bharat experiments with early morning slot

    MUMBAI: Star Bharat is all set to experiment with weekend morning slot by launching a three-hour programming band from 5 August. The channel won’t air original programming but will broadcast its library content. The channel will telecast three mythological shows. The new time band will start at 7 am with Siya Ke Ram, followed by Mahabharat at 8 am and Devon Ke Dev Mahadev at 9 am.

    Siya Ke Ram and Devon Ke Dev …Mahadev were produced by Nikhil Sinha under the banner of Triangle Film Company. The former presents the epic Ramayana from Sita’s perspective. It was originally aired in November 2015 and went off-air in November 2016. Mahadev originally premiered on 18 December 2011 and was one of the longest-running shows on Life OK (now Star Bharat). It was dubbed into several languages and ran until 14 December 2014 for a total of 820 episodes. The series revolves around the legend of Lord Shiva.

    Swastik Productions’ Mahabharat originally aired from September 2013 till August 2014. The mythological television drama series was based on the Sanskrit epic with the same name.

    Star Bharat replaced Life Ok from 28 August 2017 with the launch of five new shows besides Life OK’s Savdhaan India. During its launch, the channel had three hours of fictional programming on the weekday and an hour of weekend programming.

Dangal TV and Zee TV swapped their sixth and seventh positions in the rural market while all the top 10 channels retained their positions as compared to the previous week in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol and Zee TV retained their first and second positions with 651719 impressions (000s) sum and 577951 impressions (000s) sum respectively. Sony Pal jumped to the third position from fifth position as compared to the previous week with 551727 impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Bharat, Colors, Star Utsav and Star Plus stood at fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh positions respectively with 541652 impressions (000s) sum, 538323 impressions (000s) sum, 504288 impressions (000s) sum and 493095 impressions (000s) sum.    

    Rishtey, Sony Sab and Sony Entertainment Television retained their eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 429347 impressions (000s) sum, 410532 impressions (000s) sum and 407029 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Hindi Rural GEC

    Zee Anmol, Sony Pal, Star Utsav, Rishtey, Star Bharat retained their first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions with 503347 impressions (000s) sum, 377659 impressions (000s) sum, 346199 impressions (000s) sum, 306527 impressions (000s) sum and 285042 impressions (000s) sum respectively.   

    Dangal TV and Zee TV swapped their sixth and seventh positions respectively with 244443 impressions (000s) sum and 232042 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    MUMBAI: Viacom18’s free to air (FTA) channel Rishtey witnessed a drop of five places, from second to seventh, as compared to last week in Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data for week 23 of 2018 in the Hindi GEC (U+R) market. While Sony Pal and Rishtey exchanged their second and third positions in the rural market, Colors secured first position by overtaking Zee TV in the urban segment.

    Hindi GEC (U+R)

    Zee Anmol maintained its top spot with 803634 impressions (000s) sum. Sony Pal moved up from fourth to second with 651390 impressions (000s) sum, while Zee TV retained its third position with 599049 impressions (000s) sum.

    Star Bharat, Colors and Star Utsav were placed fourth, fifth and sixth with 555751 impressions (000s) sum, 547437 impressions (000s) sum and 520461 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Rishtey slipped to the seventh from second this week with 506821 impressions (000s) sum, with Star Plus in eighth position with 458688 impressions (000s) sum.

    Sony Sab and Sony Entertainment Television retained their ninth and tenth positions with with 385499 impressions (000s) sum, 344248 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

    Star Bharat and Sony Entertainment Television retained their fifth and sixth positions with 267446 impressions (000s) sum and 260522 impressions (000s) sum respectively.

While there were no changes in the rural markets, Sony Sab and Colors exchanged their third and fourth positions in the GEC urban market this week.

    Zee Anmol and Rishtey retained their first and second positions with 821672 impressions (000s) and 665332 impressions (000s) respectively. Zee TV and Sony Pal swapped their third and fourth positions with 592858 impressions (000s) and 577214 impressions (000s) respectively.
