    Mumbai:  Stan platform organised “Stanfest 2024” on 24 November in Phoenix Palassio mall, bringing together India’s top 200+ creators, 30,000+ attendees, gaming enthusiasts, and fans in a one-of-a-kind gaming and creator event.

    The event witnessed top creators and their die-hard fans (Stans), concluding on a high note and making Lucknow the new star in the gaming industry.  The Stanfest witnessed a footfall of 30,000+ Fans and brought together top creators and gaming enthusiasts under one roof creating a sense  of excitement. Among the key highlights was the participation of popular gaming and lifestyle creators and social media influencers, like Ashish Chanchalani, Fukra Insaan, Round2Hell, UK07 Rider, Mortal, Anurag Dwivedi, Shayar, Chill Gamer, Achanak Bhayanak Gaming and many gaming influencers, and more.

    At Stanfest, CEO Parth Chadha revealed that the platform has now empowered over 500,000 creators. He also highlighted that the app’s early monetization features have enabled creators to collectively earn over $1 million in just the past six months.     The event enabled the fans to meet their favourite creators, interact, capture moments and create unforgettable memories.     Mumbai: A report by Thornton Bharat and the E-Gaming Federation, titled “Guardians of Safe Play: Ethical Gaming for Vibrant Bharat,” revealed that India now boasts 442 million online gamers, making it the second-largest gaming market globally, just behind China. The industry is anticipated to grow by 20 per cent by FY25, reaching Rs 253 billion. This report showcased the importance of a strong code of conduct and self-regulation for the sustainable development of the gaming sector.

    The real money gaming (RMG) segment is highlighted as a major revenue driver, with users spending an average of 8.5 hours per week in FY22. Despite facing challenges in 2023 due to the government’s 28 per cent GST implementation, investor sentiment in the RMG sector remains positive.

    The report mainly dug deeper into the regulatory framework governing the real money gaming (RMG) sector, clearly distinguishing between games of skill and games of chance. It offers an overview of key legislative milestones, such as the Public Gambling Act and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code), which have influenced current RMG policies. This highlights the pressing need to update laws and create clear, cohesive guidelines to effectively manage the complexities of the RMG sector.

    Despite the challenges faced by the government’s implementation of a 28 per cent GST, which resulted in the closure of several niche gaming startups last year, the gaming industry has experienced significant growth. To understand the reasons behind this surge, Indiantelevision.com reached out to STAN CEO & founder Parth Chadha who provided detailed insights.

    He explained, “The Indian gaming industry has stood firm despite the challenges posed by the 28 per cent GST on the real money gaming sector. Several factors contribute to this boom:

    MUMBAI: Globally acclaimed series The Tourist is winging its way to India, courtesy of producer Banijay Asia and distribution giant All3Media International. The two have signed a deal under which the former has acquired the rights to produce the Indian adaptation of the series created by Two Brothers Pictures.

The Tourist offers a unique blend of mystery and suspense which we believe will resonate deeply with our viewers. We are ecstatic to bring an adaptation of such a gripping and internationally celebrated series to Indian audiences,” said  Banijay Asia and  Endemol Shine India group chief development officer Mrinalini Jain. “Collaborating with All3Media International allows us to maintain the high standards set by the original while infusing it with a distinct Indian touch.”

    Starring Jamie Dornan, the original series was written by Harry and Jack Williams, the creators of Rellik and Boat Story, and was produced by Two Brothers Pictures and Highview Productions. Distributed internationally to over five continents by All3Media International, it has aired with production partners BBC One in the UK, Stan in Australia, and ZDF in Germany, with further territories including the USA, Canada, Latin America, South Korea and the Nordics.

    The plot of the groundbreaking series revolves around an Irishman who wakes up in an Australian hospital with amnesia after a car crash. Seeking answers, he encounters a local woman who remembers him and volunteers to help him rediscover his identity. What few clues he can find hint that he has a dark past from which he must escape before it catches up with him.

    Banijay Asia has successfully delivered a number of hit scripted adaptations including The Night Manager, The Trial and Call My Agent Bollywood, alongside successful originals like Dahan, Matsya Kaand, Bombay Begums and Trial By Fire.

    Mumbai: Stan, a blockchain-based fan engagement platform, had successfully hosted a first-of-its-kind fanfest that united various gaming creators, fans, and esports players beyond the virtual space and in person.

    Stan Fanfest was a component of Dreamhack 2022, which took place from 4-6 November 2022, at the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad.

    The fanfest was a truly immersive event that brought together over 30,000 gaming enthusiasts from across the country to the destination.

    DreamHack, a gaming event unlike any other, is all about the massive BYOD (bring your own device) LAN party, paired with a plethora of competitive tournaments and international esports competitions.

    The Stan fanfest, which was hosted in collaboration with Wings, a gaming earphones manufacturer, gave fans an immersive experience by introducing them to the many activities, including the offline version of the NFT Trump game, which was the star attraction of the fan area. Having designed one of the most intriguing arenas and booths inside DreamHack, the visitor footfall at Stan Fanfest was recorded to be the highest throughout the three days. The fanfest was well-received by online gamers and influencers, with over 30.000 attendees and over 80 influencers present over the three days. Interestingly, for the first time, Free Fire creators and Omegle creators also graced the meet and greet event.

    The key gaming influencers participating in the event were Uk007 Rider, for whom over 10,000 fans turned up at the venue, Mortal, Gyan Gaming, Lokesh Gamer, AS Gaming, Thug, Goldy, Raj ‘Snax’ Varma, and Tanmay ‘Scout’ Singh. Industry leaders including S8UL founder Thug (Animesh Agarwal), 8bit creatives Goldy (Lokesh Jain), and NODWIN Gaming managing director & co-founder Akshat Rathe marked their presence at the event. Comedians and leading gaming creators Samay Raina and Tanmay Bhat also attended the event.
