    Burger King India has teamed up with Phantom Films for the much-awaited Gen Z rom-com Loveyapa. Starring debutants Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan, this fresh take on modern relationships hits theatres on 7 February 2025. With a blend of quirky humour and painfully relatable breakups, this movie promises a ride as satisfying as a Whopper.

    In true Burger King style, the brand has rolled out a special menu item to celebrate the film: the “Loveyapa Combo”. This indulgent set features a Whopper Jr. with cheese, saucy fries, and a chocolate thickshake. Whether you’re sharing it with bae or devouring it solo while scrolling memes, this combo is here to soothe your soul (and stomach).

    UMBAI: Mumbai’s legendary New Excelsior Mukta A2 Cinemas set the stage for the highly anticipated trailer launch of Loveyapa, a film that is already making waves with its captivating title song and intriguing trailer.
    The grand theatre, celebrated for its historic legacy and grandeur, provided the perfect backdrop for an evening filled with nostalgia and excitement. 

    Known for its massive screen and impressive seating capacity of 596, New Excelsior Mukta A2 Cinemas holds a special place in Indian cinemas history, having hosted the premiere of Aamir Khan’s debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak in 1988. This symbolic connection added a layer of significance to the event as Loveyapa marks the theatrical debut of Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan.

    The trailer was unveiled in front of an enthusiastic audience of over 300 special guests, including members of the media, influencers, and students. Attendees were treated to a first look at the chemistry between Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, who star in the film. The relatable themes of trust, relationships, and the challenges of modern love resonated deeply with the young crowd.

    Loveyapa tells the story of Gucchi and Bani, a young couple whose relationship is tested when Bani’s father challenges them to swap phones to prove their trust. As secrets are uncovered, the couple’s faith in each other faces its ultimate trial.

    Adding to the fun and engaging atmosphere of the evening, a unique collaboration with Burger King saw all attendees served a special Loveyapa combo, enhancing the event’s casual and relatable vibe.

    Srishti Behl Arya takes over as Phantom Films CEO

    Mumbai: Film production company Phantom Films has appointed Srishti Behl Arya as its new CEO. She has moved from Netflix India as director – international original films, after a three-year-long stint, that ended in May last year.

    During her tenure with Netflix, Srishti played a key role in building the platform’s original film bouquet including more than 35 original films like “Guilty,” “AK vs AK,” “Bulbbul,” “Serious Men,” and the first Tamil and Telugu films “Paava Kadhaigal” and “Pitta Kathalu,” respectively. Prior to this, she was an independent producer in the Indian film and television industry.

    Founded by Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena, and Vikramaditya Motwane, Phantom Films has produced landmark Bollywood films like “Queen,” “Masaan,” “Lootera,” “Udta Punjab,” among others. The company was launched in 2012 in a 50 per cent partnership with Reliance Entertainment.

    Netflix hires Shrishti Behl to build original Indian slate

    MUMBAI: For some time now, Netflix has, slowly and steadily, been building its India team. Now the latest to be roped in is veteran content creator Shrishti Behl in the critical position of director for international originals. Both Behl and Netflix were not available for a response but her hiring was confirmed by a source close to the development to Indiantelevision.com. 

    Behl’s joining date has not been announced but she has been charged with helping creating global quality original content out of India, working closely with Indian producers. It is expected to invest close to $100 million  in originals from India to start with over the next couple of years.

    She was to the film industry born. Daughter of producer Ramesh Behl and sister of filmmaker Goldie Behl who is married to Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. Behl has been an independent go-getter since her teenage days when she jumped into the marketing world at the tender age of 15. It was the sudden demise of her father that compelled the young Behl and her brother Goldie Behl to shoulder the responsibility of their production house Rose Movies.

    The spunky lady has made a name for herself on the small screen when she floated Rose Audiovisuals in partnership with Goldie. With thousands of hours of programming delivered across all channels namely Star Plus, Life OK (Star One), Sony, SAB TV, Colors, ZeeTV, Zoom, Star Gold, Channel V and EPIC. Behl was the brain behind Star Plus’s mega mythological show, Aarambh.
