    Mumbai: Puma India has partnered with popular Indian singer Harrdy Sandhu. The new association comes as part of Puma’s decisive commitment towards connecting with youth culture and strengthening the brand’s geographical relevance.

    With this, Harrdy joins Puma’s roster of ambassadors such as Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Yuvraj Singh, MC Mary Kom, Avani Lekhara, and Dutee Chand.

    Under the partnership, Harrdy will engage with Puma’s large base of customers and create exclusive content poised to further cement the brand’s market leadership position in India. He will endorse the brand’s footwear, apparel, and accessories, including select collections.

    Speaking of the association, Harrdy Sandhu said, “I am extremely excited about my association with Puma, a brand known for being at the forefront of all things sports and lifestyle.     Mumbai: Discovery Network’s television sports channel Eurosport India has unveiled a fresh new look inspired by its mission to ‘Unlock the Power of Sport.’ This distinctive new identity will consolidate the overall look of Eurosport across platforms.

    Alongside the new visual identity, the brand is also launching a dynamic soundtrack inspired by a thumping heartbeat that depicts the raw human energy and emotion of sport for fans and athletes alike. This has been used to create a rhythmic on-air sound to accompany the new visual design.

    “Eurosport India continually strives to present its content to fans in the most compelling and engaging way. The distinctive new visual identity celebrates the unique events which are broadcast and streamed while taking audiences through the viewing experience,” said Eurosport in a statement. “The redesign will be implemented across platforms where Eurosport is available to ensure viewers continue to enjoy a consistent experience wherever they are watching.” 

    Eurosport India has several premium new sports properties lined up for its viewers in 2022. These include the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, MotoGP, Euro League, Dutch League, All Elite Wrestling, PFL, PGA Tour, Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Asian Tour among others.

    Having expanded digitally, Eurosport India can now be streamed on the discovery+ app.

    Mumbai: Global sports brand Puma has appointed Smita Balram as head of corporate communications for the India business. 

    In her new role, Balram will further build Puma’s communication strategy and efforts while driving the PR narrative for the brand, said the statement.

    “Smita brings with her a wealth of rich and diverse experience in the field of media,” said Puma India and Southeast Asia managing director Abhishek Ganguly. “Her creative vision and strategic bent of mind coupled with her strong background in business and lifestyle journalism will add a fresh perspective to Puma India’s brand story.”

    Balram comes with over 16 years of deep and extensive experience across print and broadcast journalism. In her previous role, she was associated with The Economic Times, where she covered the retail eco-system and tracked multinationals and large Indian conglomerates. In the past, she has contributed to prominent media houses such as TV Today Network, Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd, and Deccan Herald where she primarily reported on fashion and lifestyle.

    “As a former journalist with experience in tracking lifestyle consumption, Puma is the perfect brand fit for me with its narrative around fashion and sports,” said Balram. “The team has laid a strong foundation for the company in India which I hope to build on and deliver on our business objectives.     ASICS India launches new campaign to kickstart upcoming sports season

    MUMBAI: As the world’s most-awaited quadrennial sporting event commences on 23 July, Japanese multinational sports equipment brand, ASICS launched its ‘Celebration of Sport’ campaign.

    Featuring youth icons and ASICS brand athletes who are representing India at the Tokyo Olympics – Manika Batra, Bajrang Punia, Ravindra Jadeja, Sakshi Malik, Karman Kaur Thandi, Rohan Bopanna, T. Gopi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, apart from actor Tiger Shroff, the campaign attempts to build on the brand’s belief of achieving ‘Sound Mind In A Sound Body’. 

    Designed to defy convention and inspire today’s youth to choose well-being above anything else, Celebration of Sport is a series of three short films and highlights athletes celebrating the power of sports in the brand’s newly launched collection.     Ritu Phogat joins Under Armour’s list of elite athletes

    Mumbai: American sports equipment company Under Armour has partnered with Indian mixed martial arts athlete Ritu Phogat. The brand said it aims to further its mission of engaging, empowering, and inspiring athletes everywhere.

    Phogat, who is popularly known as the Indian Tigress in the MMA fraternity, joins the brand’s exclusive list of athletes that includes Stephen Curry, Tom Brady, Anthony Joshua, Jordan Spieth, Michael Phelps, and Dwayne Johnson among others.
