  • Sony Pal dislodges Star Plus, Zee Anmol surprises in rural genre: BARC week 13

    MUMBAI: Sony Pal vaulted from the third position to the top in BARC week 13 pushing the leader Star Plus to the second slot in the Hindi GEC genre and also retaining its reign in the GEC rural genre. Zee Anmol made a surprise entry in the Top 10 channels in the GEC rural genre, pocketing the second position.

    Hindi GEC (Urban + Rural)

    In BARC India Week 13’s Hindi GEC genre, Sony Pal led with 702603 impressions (‘000s), followed by Star Plus with 681474 and Colors slid to third position with 638786 impressions (‘000s) even as Naagin 2 retained its top show slot.

    Zee TV, Rishtey and Zee Anmol bagged the third, fourth and fifth position with 550619, 498807 and 483395 impressions (‘000s). Sony Sab, Sony Entertainment and Star Utsav were next three in the descending order with 430939, 425621 and 422858 impressions (‘000s). Life OK was on the tenth position with 390161 impressions (‘000s).

    Hindi GEC Rural

    In the GEC rural genre, Sony Pal with 516042 impressions (‘000s), Zee Anmol with 380436 impressions (‘000s) and Rishtey with 376774 impressions (‘000s) pocketed the top three slots in the descending order.

    Star Utsav, Zee TV and Star Plus respectively bagged the fourth, fifth and six positions with 319757, 236545 and 219731 impressions (‘000s). Channels on the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively were Colors, Life OK, Sony Sab and Big Magic with 207754, 143177 142749 and 142112 impressions (‘000s).

    Hindi GEC Urban

    In the GEC urban genre ratings of BARC week 13, Star Plus, Colors and Zee TV were the top three channels in the descending order with 461742, 431032 and Zee TV    314073 impressions (‘000s), respectively. 

    Next in the order of top ratings at the fourth, fifth and sixth positions were Sony Entertainment, Sony Sab and Life OK respectively with 294285, 288189 and 246983 impressions (‘000s). Among the last four of the Top 10 channels rated in the descending order in BARC week 13 were Sony Pal, &TV, Rishtey and Star Utsav with 186561, 141510, 122032 and 103101 impressions (‘000s), respectively.

  • Star Plus & Sony Pal retain respective leadership, Naagin 2 maintains lead

    MUMBAI: Week 12 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India saw no major change in the rankings. Star Plus and Sony Pal continued to lead their respective markets. Zee TV in Hindi GEC Urban market grabbed the third slot, and Sony Entertainment Television slipped to fourth. 

    Colors’ Naagin season 2 remained the undisputed leader in top five programmes of Hindi GEC. 

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus continued to remain the leader of the space, and grabbed the first spot with 728340 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second slot with 630806 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal on third with 603135 Impressions (000s). 

    Zee TV witnessed a hike in ratings this week but remained on number four with 550272 Impressions (000s) against 537768 Impressions (000s) in week 11. Rishtey stood at number five in week 12 with 508839 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol bagged sixth spot with 492092 Impressions (000s).

    Sab TV, Star Utsav and Sony Entertainment Television garnered seventh, eighth and ninth spot with  439697 Impressions (000s), 433212 Impressions (000s) and 429864 Impressions (000s), respectively. Life OK registered 417957 Impressions (000s) on tenth spot.  

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    This week too, Sony Pal garnered the first position with 438102 Impressions (000s) followed by 389971 Impressions (000s). Though Naagin season 2 has been the number one show in top five programmes, the show could not manage to make Rishtey the number one channel this week. The channel grabbed the third position with 381221 Impressions (000s). 

    Star Utsav stood on number four with 322143 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus bagged the fifth position with 243528 Impressions (000s). Zee TV and Colors grabbed sixth and seventh spot with 231431 Impressions (000s) and 209359 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK, Sab TV and Sony Entertainment Television bagged 164765 Impressions (000s), 149431 Impressions (000s) and 133861 Impressions (000s) respectively. 

    Hindi GEC Urban 

    Star Plus led the chart with 484812 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on the second position with 421446 Impressions (000s). In week 12, Zee TV managed to grab the third slot with 318840 Impressions (000s) and pushed Sony Entertainment Television to the fourth spot. The channel registered  296003 Impressions (000s). 

    Sab TV maintained its fifth spot with 290265 Impressions (000s). 

    Life OK stood at number six with 253191 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal,  &TV and Rishtey bagged seventh, eighth and ninth slot with 165032 Impressions (000s), 140559 Impressions (000s) and 127618 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Star Utsav grabbed tenth spot  with 111069 Impressions (000s).

  • Star Plus & Sony Pal continue to dominate GEC market

    MUMBAI: In week 11 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, Star Plus continued to lead both the market Urban and (U+R). Sony Pal maintained its leadership position. 

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus continued to lead the Hindi GEC (U+R) with 744974 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors with 612603 Impressions (000s) on second slot and Sony Pal on third with 574333 Impressions (000s).

    In week 10, Zee TV at number four with 537768 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey stood at five with 503153 Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol bagged number six with 459800 Impressions (000s) followed by Sab grabbed seven spot with 448564 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment Television, Star Utsav and Life OK ranked on the eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 445854 Impressions (000s), 432893 Impressions (000s) and 388575 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    Sony Pal maintained its number one position with 425279 Impressions (000s) followed by Rishtey  with 381798 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol  stood on 362940 Impressions (000s).

    Star Utsav stood on number four with 322965 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus bagged fifth position with 263964 Impressions (000s). Zee TV and Colors  grabbed sixth and seventh spot with 240172 Impressions (000s) and 202985 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Sab TV, Life OK and Sony Entertainment Television garnered eighth, ninth and tenth spot with 155846 Impressions (000s), 151381 Impressions (000s) and 139375 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban 

    Star Plus led the chart with 481010 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 409617 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Entertainment Television grabbed third position with 306478 Impressions (000s).  Zee TV and Sab TV bagged 297596 Impressions (000s) and 292718 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Life OK stood on number six with 237194 Impressions (000s). Sony Pa, &TV and Rishtey bagged seventh, eighth and ninth slot with 149054 Impressions (000s), 142488 Impressions (000s) and 121355 Impressions (000s) respectively.
    Star Utsav grabbed tenth spot with week and registered 109928 Impressions (000s).

  • Star Plus and Sony Pal retain respective genre leads

    MUMBAI: Star Plus and Colors respectively ranked number 1 and number 2 in Hindi GEC (U+R) and Hindi GEC Urban segments in BARC India week 10 ratings. Sony Pal and Zee Anmol retained their respective number one and two positions last week in the GEC Rural segment.

    In the GEC (U+R) segment, STAR Plus led with 756101 impression followed by Colors with 637027 impressions. Sony Pal with 568043 impressions and Zee TV with 518107 impressions stood at third and fourth positions respectively. Zee Anmol with 466508 impressions and Rishtey with 446592 impressions were next in the row at fifth and sixth positions respectively.

    In GEC Rural segment, Sony Pal with 419333 impressions, Zee Anmol with 365835 impressions and Rishtey with 337483 impressions bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively. STAR Utsav with 331056 impressions, STAR Plus with 255923 impressions and Zee TV with 226532 impressions ranked at the fourth, fifth and six positions in BARC week 10.

    In GEC Urban segment, STAR Plus led with 500178 impressions followed by Colors and Sony Entertainment Television with 421815 and 294125 impressions respectively at the second and third positions. SONY SAB with 292006 impressions, Zee TV with 291574 impressions and Life Ok with 241537 impressions ranked on the fourth, fifth and sixth positions.

  • Hindi GEC: Sony Pal leads in rural & Star Plus retains twin titles

    MUMBAI: In week 9 of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India data, Star Plus continued to lead both markets, Urban and (U+R). Sony Pal however replaced Rishtey to claim the leadership position. Apart from the leading channels, this week, Zee TV registered positive ratings which helped the channel figure in top three list of channels.

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus led the genre with an increase in number with 783794 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors with 634917 Impressions (000s) in the second slot and Sony Pal on third with 563212 Impressions (000s).

    In week 9, Zee TV climbed up at number four with 556365 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey stood at the fifth position with 506028 Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol bagged the number six slot with 491557 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Utsav grabbed the seventh spot with 456187 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment Television, Sab TV and Life OK ranked on the eighth, ninth and tenth positions with 431506 Impressions (000s), 423175 Impressions (000s) and 387790 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Hindi GEC Rural 

    Sony Pal replaced Rishtey to claim the number one position with 406831 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 384967 Impressions (000s) and Rishtey stood on 384810 Impressions (000s). 

    Star Utsav stood on number four with 352694 Impressions (000s) and Star Plus bagged the fifth position with 264241 Impressions (000s). Zee TV and Colors  grabbed sixth and seventh spot with 247472 Impressions (000s) and 210727 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television and Big Magic garnered eighth, ninth and tenth spot with 153193 Impressions (000s), 136078 Impressions (000s) and 134005 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Star Plus led the chart with 519552 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on second position with 424189 Impressions (000s).

    Zee TV grabbed the third position with 308892 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment Television and Sab TV bagged 295428 Impressions (000s) and 289649 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Life OK stood on number six with 234596 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal, &TV and Rishtey bagged seventh, eighth and ninth spots with 156381 Impressions (000s), 137506  Impressions (000s) and 121218 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    Zee Anmol grabbed the tenth position this week and registered 106590 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi GEC

    Star Plus continues to lead the Hindi GECs genre this week with 653181 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on the second slot with 648782 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV with 451639 Impressions (000s) bagged the third spot in the Hindi GEC section.

    Sony Entertainment Television maintained its fourth position with 431993 Impressions (000s) and Sony Pal stood at number five with 428522 Impressions (000s) followed by Rishtey on number six with 424356 Impressions (000s) and Life OK on seventh with 395131 Impressions (000s). Zee Anmol garnered the eight slot with 379534 Impression (000s).

    Sab TV and Star Utsav registered 370495 Impressions (000s) and 333564 Impressions (000s) on ninth and tenth spot.

    Rishtey emerged as the number one channel and replaced Sony Pal on the leadership position with 320967 Impressions (000s) followed by Sony Pal on the second slot with 320967 Impressions (000s) and Zee Anmol with 288423 Impressions (000s) stood on number three.

    Star Utsav bagged the fourth place with 253740 Impressions (000s). Star Plus grabbed the fifth spot with 215089 Impressions (000s) followed by Colors on sixth spot with 212457 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV on seventh with 187923 Impressions (000s).

    Life OK, Big Magic and Sony Entertainment Television garnered eighth, ninth and tenth spot with 143226 Impressions (000s), 128898 Impressions (000s) and 123671 Impressions (000s) respectively.

    Colors garnered the pole position again in Urban HSM with 442445 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus on second with 431133 Impressions (000’s). Sony Entertainment Television maintained its third spot with 288979 Impressions (000s) and Zee TV stood at number four with 274263 Impressions (000s).
    Sony Sab was at the fifth spot with 265411 Impressions (000s). Life OK bagged the sixth spot with 232127 Impressions (000s) as &TV retained its number seven spot with 145141 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Sab was at the fifth spot with 265411 Impressions (000s). Life OK bagged the sixth spot with 232127 Impressions (000s) as &TV retained its number seven spot with 145141 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Pal, Zee Anmol and Star Utsav grabbed the last three spots with 113854 Impressions (000s), 99149 Impressions (000s) and 96735 Impressions (000s), respectively.

    MUMBAI: Continuing its reign over the HSM market four weeks in a row, Colors lead Hindi GEC genre across urban and rural markets combined. It also topped the urban-only list.On the other hand, Sony Pal overtook Zee Anmol and became the number one watched Hindi GEC channel in rural India.

    Hindi GEC

    Colors maintained its leadership position with 638344 Impressions (000s) followed by Star Plus on second position with 597790 Impressions (000s). Sony Pal has climbed up to the third spot with 470891 Impressions(000s) as Zee TV slipped to fourth in the list with 435915 Impressions (000s)

    Zee Anmol retained  fifth position with 435662 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment Television takes over the sixth spot earlier occupied by its sister channel Sony Sab. SET has scored 409301 Impressions (000s), while Star Utsav, which follows it at 7th spot has recorded 398716 Impressions (000s).

    Rishtey retained its eighth spot with 380487 Impressions (000s). Life Ok upped one spot to ninth with 376803 Impressions (000s) while Sony Sab dropped drastically to tenth spot with 365226 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi GEC Rural

    Viewers have crowned Sony Pal as the leader in the rural market with 343280 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee Anmol with 331554 Impressions (000s). Star Utsav regained third spot with 305659 Impressions (000s) as Rishtey dropped to fourth position with 290181 Impressions (000s).

    Colors bagged fifth spot with 207719 Impressions (000s).  Star Plus stood at sixth spot in Rural HSM with 196443 Impressions (000s) followed by Zee TV at number seven with 182881 Impressions (000s). Like OK climbed one spot at eighth spot with 137922 Impressions (000s)as Big Magic dropped to ninth with 124137 Impressions (000s). Sony Entertainment stayed at tenth spot with 121574 Impressions (000s).

    Hindi GEC Urban

    Colors was yet again the number one channel in Urban Hindi GECs genre with 433668 Impressions (000’s) followed by Star Plus on second with 401346 Impressions (000’s). Sony Entertainment Television jumped to third spot  with 287727 impressions (000s) and Zee TV stood at number four with 253034 Impressions (000s).

    Sony Sab was at fifth spot with 252499 Impressions (000s). Life Ok  took over the sixth spot with 238881 Impressions (000s) as &Tv retained its number seven spot with 144128  Impressions (000s).

    Sony Pal,  Zee Anmol and STAR Utsav grabbed the last three spots with 127610 Impressions (000s),104107 Impressions (000s) and 93057 Impressions (000s) respectively.
