    Sony MAX to air world television premiere of ‘Marjaavaan’ on 29 February

    MUMBAI: Sony MAX is all set to feature the World Television Premiere of the month – Marjaavaan. The action drama featuring Siddharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria will be showcased on 29th February 2020 at 8PM.

    The film revolves around the love story of a local goon, Raghu (Siddharth Malhotra) and Zoya (Tara Sutaria), a mute music teacher whose world is turned upside down due to the villainous acts of Vishnu (Riteish Deshmukh), the son of an infamous gang leader The film takes a series of heart wrenching twists that results in the death of Zoya. Raghu avenges her death while Vishnu continues to destroy everything Raghu lives for.

    Speaking about his role as Raghu, Siddharth Malhotra says, "Milap, Me and my team first decided to change the physical aspect of Raghu – trying longer hair, a bandana, the matches, tougher, bigger and broader look including the tattoos of every religion in India. I found it cool and really enjoyed it. I've never done something like this before."

    Speaking about her role as a mute Kashmiri Music teacher, Tara Sutaria says, "I spent a couple of months before we started filming to learn the sign language as I wanted it to be 100 percent right. I believe if you're doing something unique like this, you need to do justice to the role. I am really grateful to Milap Sir and to everyone that I could learn this language."

    MUMBAI: One of 2019’s biggest and most critically acclaimed films, ‘Section 375’ gets ready for its World Television Premiere on India’s leading Hindi Movie channel Sony MAX. Starring Richa Chhadha and Akhshaye Khanna, the courtroom drama will be showcased on 25 January 2020 at 8PM.

    The film revolves around the case of a celebrated Bollywood director Rohan Khurana being accused by a female member of his crew, Anjali Dangle of physical harassment. With a gripping plot twist, the movie ends in a series of tumultuous case hearings that further leads to a mystery, one that leaves the audience yearning for the truth.

    Ahead of the World Television Premier of Section 375 on Sony MAX, Akshaye Khanna has called for all the Bollywood fans to watch the movie and has said, “Section 375 deals with the rape laws in India and also brings to our notice an alarming trend in our society, which treats an accused in a fashion that pronounces him guilty even before a trial has commenced. As a team we have made a sincere effort to educate and entertain the audience by presenting the current scenario keeping in mind the sensitivity the subject commands."

    MUMBAI: Sony MAX is all set to bring to you the World Television Premiere of Arjun Patiala on November 30, 2019 at 8 PM. The movie starring Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Sharma and Kriti Sanon will be the 6th World Television Premiere on Sony MAX this month after Romeo Juliet, Rowdy, MLA No.1, Diljale Khiladi, Badshah Pehelwan and Khaandani Shafakhana.

    Arjun Patiala’s story revolves around sub-inspector Arjun (Diljit Dosanjh) and his partner-in-crime Onida Singh (Varun Sharma) embarking upon a mission to sweep away crime from the city. Their lives take a dramatic turn when a journalist Ritu Randhawa (Kriti Sanon) enters the scene.

    The man with the charming voice Diljit has teamed up with the actor who is loved for his comic timing Varun Sharma for the first time ever promising a journey full of laughter. The dynamic duo has been supported by the lovely Kriti Sanon who shines as the pretty journalist with her own hidden agenda.

    Directed by Rohit Jugraj and co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan, Arjun Patiala is one of the most loved comedy movies of the year. The music for the movie has been composed by the rhythmic duo Sachin-Jigar, Akash D and Guru Randhawa.

    MUMBAI: Sony MAX presents ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’ as its World Television Premiere this November. The film starring Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and popular singer Badshah will help break the taboo around the topic of fertility clinics in small town India. The film will premiere on 22nd November 2019 at 8PM only on Sony MAX.

    Produced by T-Series and Sundial Productions and directed by Shilpi Dasgupta, Khandaani Shafakhana is the story of a woman, receiving the ownership to her uncle’s fertility clinic. Despite the social pressures she faces to repurpose the clinic into a business venture more befitting of a young woman, Babita ‘Baby’ Bedi (Sonakshi Sinha) takes on the business with a firm outlook on making it prosper and breaking the taboo around it with the help of Gabru Ghataak (Badshah). Playing the fool, her brother, Bhooshit Bedi (Varun Sharma) adds his quirky remarks along the way to get the kind of popularity his sister now enjoys.

    Speaking a bit about preparing for the role and getting close to his co-stars, Badshah adds, “I had been reading a couple of scripts at the time. Sonakshi has played a very important role in the decision making. She read the script first and immediately had recommended my name. And when I spoke to her, she just made me go for it. They were also extremely patient with me in pulling up the correct shot. Honestly, I did not have to prepare much for the role. I had a certain image of Gabru in my mind from the moment I heard the script and I was just going with the flow. I definitely have a lot of new found respect for film makers and actors after this experience though. I think the whole process was a lot of fun.”

    Speaking about his experience shooting for the film, Varun Sharma reminisces about his experience on why he chose the film, “I was really thrilled when I received this opportunity, because it was interesting as a film and had a very important message and it was about breaking certain taboos. So, I instantly jumped on to it and I wanted to be a part of it. The experience working with Badshah and Sonakshi was fantastic – we connected over music and other conversations, we have become thick friends now. Every day was a lot of fun, one of the tastiest incidents was going to Amritsar for Amritsari Chole and while talking about it now, I recall the taste of it.”

    MUMBAI: Sony MAX, Hindi movie channel to air the world television premiere of Game Over starring Taapsee Pannu on 4 October 2019 at 8pm.

    The psychological thriller also stars Vinodhini Kalamma and Sanchana Natarajan. What began as a hobby for Swapna (Taapsee Pannu), a budding videogame designer turned into her worst nightmare. Suffering from PTSD and living in seclusion, Swapna has to survive the attack of a serial killer who had committed several interconnected murders. The movie delves into the horrors she faces and the gruesome series of events that she encounters in a video game format.

    In a recent interview with IMDB Taapsee says “An interesting fact about the movie is that it was initially titled Mario and I am a huge fan of Mario myself, I played the game a lot while growing up. The script had a portion where I had a Mario tattoo on my wrist instead of the joystick.”

    MUMBAI: Sneha Rajani, Head of Sony Pictures Networks (SPN’s) film production division, Sony Pictures Networks Productions (SPNP), has decided to move on, after an illustrious career of 20 years with the organisation.

     Sneha’s contribution to the organization has been immense. The line-up of her illustrious achievements is long. She has been instrumental in launching Sony MAX, which is India’s leading movie channel, revolutionizing the content of Sony Entertainment Television(SET) with shows like Bade Acche Lagte Hai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Parvarish etc., and then propelling a multitude of Hindi movie hits with the production of Piku, Azhar, Mubarkaan and Soorma.

    She has also led some of the industry’s firsts like the iconic cricket wrap-around show ‘Extraaa Innings’ with a female presenter for the first time ever and created television history not only with the ratings but how cricket began to be consumed in this country. In addition, Rajani has played a valuable role in shaping the diversity agenda of SPN, enabling an inclusive work environment.

      “At an organizational level, Sneha’s contributions have been game changing. Gearing up to be Sony MAX’s World Television Premiere, Kabir Singh, Bollywood’s biggest blockbuster of the year will premiere on Sony MAX on 29th September 2019 at 12pm. Kabir Singh starring one of India’s biggest heartthrobs Shahid Kapoor and actress Kiara Advani, is the highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2019 and will premiere on Sony MAX this month.

    The movie encapsulates the heartening love story of Kabir and Preeti as they embark on a tumultuous journey and face various obstacles in their love life.  Written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu hit ‘Arjun Reddy’. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, the film gets into the flaws and impact of a rough relationship and an aggressive young man. 

    The film takes the audience through the lives of a house surgeon of Delhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and a first-year student, Preeti Sikka (Kiara Advani) who fall in love. Their love blossoms over the years but Preeti’s father (Anurag Arora) is against the relationship. He forcefully tries to get Preeti married to someone else which sends Kabir on a downward spiral of alcohol and drug abuse threatening his career, life and love. Will Kabir and Preeti be able to be together? Or will their love story remain incomplete?
