    Mumbai: Sony Sports Network is delighted to announce that Indian tennis player Sania Mirza has extended her association as the brand ambassador for tennis that includes Roland Garros, US Open & Australian Open amongst other tennis properties from the broadcaster’s sports portfolio. Mirza will next be seen as the expert panellist on Sony Sports Network’s flagship studio show Extraaa Serve during the live coverage of Roland Garros.

    Mirza is one of the most successful Indian tennis players in history with six Grand Slam titles to her name. She is a recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award, Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, Padma Shri as well as the Padma Bhushan. She will be next seen sharing her expert opinions and in-depth analysis for Roland Garros on Sony Sports Network. Along with Sania Mirza, Sony Sports Network will have Olympian & former India No. 1 and Asian Games & Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Somdev Devvarman and Davis Cup player Purav Raja on the expert panel for Roland Garros.

    Played on the toughest surface in tennis, one can expect surprises as the tournament comes into action on 26 May 2024, LIVE on Sony Sports Network. Roland Garros 2024 will be aired in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu from the get-go, raising the excitement levels of the Indian tennis fans.     Considered as the toughest Grand Slam of all, this will be the 128th edition of Roland Garros as the world’s finest tennis players gear up for the clay season’s special. The Spanish maestro missed out the last time due to injury and will be gunning for glory after the long hiatus.

    MUMBAI: Sony Liv has pocketed the exclusive digital rights to the Australian Open for its web and mobile platform. The tournament will be live streamed on Sony Liv for free.

     

    It may be recalled that the satellite rights of the Australian Open vest with Sony Pictures Networks India and ESPN’s joint venture channel – Sony ESPN, which is all set to beam from 17 January.

     

    From 18 – 31 January, the live matches will be available for viewing on the Sony Liv Android and iOS Mobile app as well as on www.sonyliv.com.

     

    For those who miss the match, video on demand capturing key highlights and special moments of every match along with interviews and press conferences will be available on the very same day.

     

    SPN India EVP and head – digital business Uday Sodhi said, “Sony Liv has established itself as the destination of choice for the Indian viewers looking for digital entertainment solutions on the go. As a category, sports are very significant for Sony Liv audiences and hence, we have been increasing our content portfolio to include major sporting events.     The Australian Open is one of the most eminent international tennis tournaments held annually over a fortnight in Melbourne, The year’s first Grand Slam will feature some of the biggest names from the international tennis circuit such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova, among others as well as Indian players Sania Mirza and Somdev Devvarman. Last season’s winners, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams will also return to the court to defend their respective titles this year.

    MUMBAI: Ricoh, a technology company specialising in the office and production printing markets has announced its association with the Aircel Chennai Open 2012 as an official sponsor.

    The tournament will be held from 2 – 8 January, 2012 and will see in action a line-up of Indian and international players including world number 9 Janko Tipsarevic and world number 10 Nicolas Almagro, Somdev Devvarman, Rohan Bopanna and Mahesh Bhupathi, among others.

    Ricoh has had a strong relationship with the sport of Tennis, they are an Official Partner of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals and they also sponsor a host of other ATP Tour events, hence the association with India‘s only and South Asia‘s premier ATP World Tour tennis event is an exciting development and testament to the stature of the tournament.
