McDonald’s India launches new TV campaign for festive season

Mumbai: McDonald’s India (West and South) has kick-started this festive season by launching a new film under the campaign titled “Festivals Make Families.” The new heartwarming digital-forward brand film captures the festive celebrations of a family with various moments that bring them all together.

This slice-of-life film was released on YouTube and other social platforms in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Shot in a single take, the film showcases a young member of the family (the protagonist) who records various moments of fun, excitement, and rib-tickling chaos in the house during the celebration. The protagonist is seen narrating the level of enthusiasm among each member of the family, young and old alike. From greeting guests to providing finishing touches to decorations, from the choice of flowers to dance moves to the same old music, from attires to cracking the same old jokes, nothing has changed, yet the enthusiasm is always at its peak. However, festivals are the only time when families come together and enjoy special moments over a McDonald’s meal that are cherished. It is one of those special moments that makes the protagonist realise the importance and beauty of festivals.

Overall, the film highlights that the essence and the memories of festive celebrations never fade away, even if they appear the same every year.

Speaking of the campaign, McDonald’s director – marketing and communications Arvind R.P said, “Festivals and McDonald’s have one thing in common, they bring families together to celebrate joyous occasions. Through this brand film, we intend to capture how McDonald’s Meals play a pivotal role in making family times memorable. We at McDonald’s India constantly work on strengthening the meal proposition for our customers, especially families, so they can relish their favourites and make McDonald’s an integral part of every celebration. We believe this campaign strikes the perfect chord with families and strengthens their trust and love towards our brand.”

Talking about the creative side, DDB Mudra creative head – West Pallavi Chakravarti said, “What makes festivals the most eagerly awaited events ever? If you’ve seen one, haven’t you seen them all? Then what gives? McDonald’s set out to explore this train of thought in a festive campaign that is an ode to families across the country – or the world, for that matter.”

  • Hrithik reminisces “#GoldenDiwali” in Ferrero Rocher’s latest ad film

Hrithik reminisces “#GoldenDiwali” in Ferrero Rocher’s latest ad film

Mumbai: Ferrero Rocher launched a new ad film to celebrate Diwali as part of the campaign “#GoldenDiwali,” which features Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan.

Designed by Big Bang Social, the campaign aims to further strengthen their brand recall amongst consumers and promote Ferrero Rocher across the digital space as part of its campaign.

This Diwali campaign is intended to fortify the positioning of Ferrero Rocher as a premium brand and establish the proposition that Ferrero Rocher is “precious like the people we love.”

The digital film opens with Hrithik reminiscing about his past Diwalis with his family. He is sitting inside his house, which is decked up with Diwali decorations.

He talks about how his family needs everything to be festive and decorative to keep up with the new cultural festivities that crop up every year. However, one thing that remains constant for each Diwali is his family’s love for “Rocher”—the Roshan’s love for Rocher. He is then seen indulging in the delectable taste of the presence of hazelnuts in Ferrero Rocher and ends by wishing everyone an elegant and “#GoldenDiwali” with Ferrero Rocher.

Commenting on the occasion, Ferrero Rocher marketing head Pralines Zoher Kapuswala said, “Ever since we introduced Ferrero Rocher, a lovingly crafted chocolate speciality in India, it has witnessed exponential growth by offering consumers an indulgent experience through high quality ingredients. We believe that our digital campaign featuring Hrithik Roshan will help in leveraging the premium imagery that Hrithik Roshan carries and further strengthen our positioning as a premium brand which revolves around style and elegance.”

  • Ogilvy unveils new campaign ‘Pulsar unleashing its Mania’ for Bajaj Pulsar

Ogilvy unveils new campaign ‘Pulsar unleashing its Mania’ for Bajaj Pulsar

Mumbai: Bajaj Pulsar has launched its latest motorcycle, the Pulsar N160, with the most sedate advertisement on television.

The ad is an extremely clever way of getting a nod of approval from audiences, who often sat up and took note of “Pulsar unleashing its Mania” on national television.

In all its glory, and absolutely unlike the Pulsar advertising of two decades ago, this video showcased a stationary motorcycle. The intrigue comes from one clear instruction: scan the QR code on screen to watch the most thrilling Pulsar video ever!

The QR takes the viewer to YouTube, where the real advertisement will be played for the true enthusiast. The rider is seen on the all-new Pulsar N160, displaying breath-taking riding control while performing jaw-dropping stunts set in a city maze, all happening to the beats of an addictive music track.

Furthermore, this QR code has been seen all over many Indian cities and towns—in public spaces, public transport, youth-centric spaces, from college notice boards to cafes and so on. Essentially, branding the most mundane and boring pieces of our day as opportunities to become the most thrilling moments of the day.

Speaking on the campaign and how they were convinced that this is “the” way, Bajaj Auto head of marketing Narayan Sundararaman said, “Brand Pulsar is all about action and thrill. For its new avatar as the Pulsar N160, we had to deliver a communication package that would talk about the category-first feature of Dual Channel ABS. In this cluttered media environment, we thought our best chance would be to involve the viewer and nudge them towards a thrilling film… Do they want to watch an ‘uncensored’ ad of eye-popping motorcycle action? It’s great to see that the answer is a resounding yes!”

Speaking on the collaboration with Bajaj, Ogilvy chief creative officer Sukesh Nayak said, “Pulsar is the most thrilling motorcycle on the road, so we took its communication a notch higher on thrill. How? We got their attention twice! We made an ad in an ad. First, we made a censored Pulsar ad for TV and released it with a QR code. The film invites die-hard Pulsar fans to scan and watch the most exciting ‘Uncensored Pulsar ad’ of all time. The ‘Uncensored Pulsar QR code’ will make not just the TV ad but every ad thrilling – newspaper, outdoor, and even posters. Let the thrill take over.”

  • PhonePe unveils new brand campaign on motor insurance renewals

PhonePe unveils new brand campaign on motor insurance renewals

Mumbai: PhonePe has launched an integrated multi-media brand campaign focused on tension-free motor insurance renewals. The campaign drives awareness around the benefits of renewing motor insurance tension-free on PhonePe.

The campaign was designed by The Script Room agency and is produced by Zig Zag. It highlights real, everyday problems that consumers face with sales pitches that have now become an unpleasant purchase experience.

It is a pan-India campaign that will be launched in a phase-wise manner with eight ad films in total.

Focused on category creation and driving consideration for motor insurance renewals on the PhonePe platform, this campaign inspires consumers to question the way bike and car insurance are traditionally sold to them. It uses creatives specially crafted for Hindi-speaking audiences in the north markets, starring Aamir Khan and Alia Bhatt, while for the south markets of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, the campaign features Dulquer Salmaan.

The light-hearted series of films highlights how, with PhonePe, consumers don’t have to settle for unwanted sales calls, unnecessary add-ons, and other limited options. Both bike and car insurance products on the platform come with a wide range of options that empower consumers to choose the best price.

It also gives potential buyers the power to choose any add-ons rather than setting them as defaults. Once done, the insurance is renewed instantly, does not need an in-person inspection, and is available at affordable prices. This conscious brand stance makes the purchase experience simple, easy, and tension-free while also setting PhonePe apart in this category.

Speaking on the launch of this new brand campaign, PhonePe director of brand marketing Ramesh Srinivasan said, “Based on our recent consumer research, we have been able to identify some of the current challenges in the insurance industry. The results highlight a general discontent from a consumer point of view with unwanted sales calls or unnecessary add-ons. We have built our latest motor insurance campaign sharply on these consumer insights to invest in our audience’s needs. At PhonePe, we have eliminated the problem of consumers facing unsolicited sales calls, thereby keeping up the product promise of ‘tension-free insurance’ on the platform. We have also continued with our brand approach of driving localised connect with our audiences with not one but two separate campaigns for the north and south Indian markets with a full 360 media mix.”

  • Apollo Tyres partners with Wunderman Thompson to launch new TVC

Apollo Tyres partners with Wunderman Thompson to launch new TVC

New Delhi: Apollo Tyres has unveiled its latest television commercial for its off-roading motorcycle tyres- Apollo Tramplr.

The TVC was launched in partnership with Wunderman Thompson.

Through this power-packed commercial, Apollo Tyres is set to create a distinct spot for itself in the crowded all-terrain tyre market where every brand claims to offer true-blue off-roading tyres.

This TVC is created to strike a chord with the adventure loving bikers who want the best tyres for their motorcycles.

Conceptualised by Wunderman Thompson, the TVC is based on a unique and interesting observation. When it comes to off-roading adventure, every brand has the same thing to say and show to prove their point- the same mountains, the same trails and the same obstacles. There is nothing new. It is time to challenge the sameness. It is time to tell the world that adventure isn’t about visiting the same place, taking the same turn or following the same road taken by millions.

Thus ‘Go Beyond Sameness’ was born. It is a call to every adventure lover to find new routes, challenge the limits, and discover something the world has never seen before. Because the real adventure begins when you go beyond sameness.

Commenting on the launch, Apollo Tyres president- Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa Satish Sharma said, “Apollo Tramplr is designed for both on and off -road applications. The product is designed to give confidence to the rider to go beyond the usual terrains. Tramplr’s design is inspired by the legendary off-roading capability of ibex. The tread design of this tyre is derived from ibex hoofs for stronger grip, better control, and superior manoeuvrability. We have tested this product over some of the toughest of terrains before bringing it out for our customers.”

Commenting on the TVC launch, Wunderman Thompson senior vice president and managing partner Joy Chauhan said, “Love for adventure is only second to the love for newer adventures for today’s youth. Brands which vibe with the thinking, culture, and aspirational values of the young and restless take up their mind space. Apollo Trampler is designed to fulfill the youth’s desire to challenge the sameness and go beyond to discover new experiences. This digital first campaign has all the right ingredients to support our adventure loving youth in their journey to greatness. Let the true adventure begin where sameness ends.”

Sharing his thought on the TVC, Wunderman Thompson vice president and ECD Sundeep Sehgal said, “The idea of sameness comes from consumer behaviour. We observed sameness is the biggest enemy of discovery. It’s like a loop. The commercial is a reflection of every rider/adventure seeker who is somewhere stuck in that loop. They want to go on an adventurous journey but have forgotten the idea of going beyond. The idea was to nudge and make them go beyond their comfort zone, go beyond sameness.”
