    Xiaomi India names Alvin Tse as new GM & Anuj Sharma as CMO in leadership rejig

    MUMBAI: Smartphone and smart TV brand, Xiaomi India announced on Friday various organisational changes for the next phase of growth. Alvin Tse will now spearhead the company’s India operations as its new general manager, while Anuj Sharma will rejoin Xiaomi India as the chief marketing officer.

    Tse will replace Manu Kumar Jain, who was previously the managing director of Xiaomi India. Jain moved to a larger role as a global vice president for Xiaomi last year, after seven years in India. Jain is currently responsible for international strategy including international marketing and PR.

    Tse is a Xiaomi global founding team member. He is also a Poco founding member and the former general manager of Xiaomi Indonesia. The company stated that Tse will join hands with current India’s leadership team.

    Sharma was previously the country director for Poco India after the company was announced as an independent brand in 2020. In his role, Sharma will spearhead the overall brand and marketing strategy for the India division and will play an instrumental role in bolstering Xiaomi’s reach with consumers across the nation.

    Since the transition of Manu Jain, Xiaomi India leadership team i.e., chief operating officer Muralikrishnan B, chief business officer Raghu Reddy, and chief financial officer Sameer BS Rao have been leading  India’s business independently and will continue to be a strong driving force behind the brand, the company said in a statement.

    Mumbai: Smartphone brand Vivo on Thursday released a new brand film in India titled ‘Live the Joy.’ The two-minute video sheds light on the purpose of Vivo as a technology brand.

    “With this digital film, Vivo hopes to help consumers recognise moments of joy in their lives and cherish these moments as they’re meant to. The core message of the film is that there is joy in the world all around us – be it through self-expression, connections with our loved ones or in the multitude of things all around us if we look at it through the right perspective,” said the brand in a statement.

    Backed by a strong narrative, the DVC communicates how one can find Joy in every moment in their lives as long as we look at it from the right perspective. The film further elaborates on this point by depicting beautiful instances such as the simplest moment of an interesting looking shadow or the craziness of the peak of a roller coaster ride, the simplest exchange of messages or a grand public gesture of love, sharing your laughter with hundreds on stage or giggling to yourself while scrolling through social media.

    Vivo, as a technology brand having started its journey in India in 2014, has seen tremendous growth reaching a market leadership position since Q4 2019 and holding on to it ever since.     OPPO India ropes in Ranbir Kapoor to play messenger in latest campaign

    MUMBAI: Global smart devices brand, OPPO announced the launch of its latest campaign with Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor as he gets set to dribble up some excitement for customers across India.

    As a part of the #SayItWithRanbir campaign, starting 5 July, the Bollywood star would be all out to sweep fans off their feet as he delivers curated messages to their families, friends, and dear ones. The chosen messages would be recorded using the industry-first ‘bokeh flare portrait video’ feature of the soon-to-be-launched 5G super phone Reno6 Pro 5G and the Reno6, stated the brand.

    OPPO has opened the campaign for fans to share the messages for their loved ones through Instagram using the hashtag #SayItWithRanbir for the next seven days. Among all the requests received, four select messages will be chosen via lucky draw to be delivered by the Bollywood actor on OPPO’s Instagram channel as part of the campaign.
