After melting hearts with its viral ‘Doda’ film, Škoda Auto India and Publicis Groupe India’s bespoke unit Team Drive are back with a cheeky new chapter in the ‘Fans Not Owners’ campaign and this time, the action unfolds in a schoolyard.

    Titled ‘Recess’ and creatively helmed by BBH India, the film captures children flaunting their families’ Škoda cars like badges of honour. From specs to features, the showdown escalates until a young girl drops the ultimate mic line: her Škoda can fly to Jupiter. With that rocket-fuelled claim, she hops into her Kushaq and drives off, leaving her peers gaping.

    The spot wraps up with a montage that celebrates not just the features of Škoda cars but the sheer pride and joy they inspire among fans staying true to the campaign’s core message that Škoda owners don’t just drive their cars, they adore them. With ‘Recess’, Škoda once again proves that when it comes to storytelling, it’s not just about horsepower, but heart power.

More than just a car commercial, the campaign is a celebration of bold ambition, resilience, and European engineering that’s now within reach for a new generation of Indian consumers.

    As Škoda’s first-ever ‘Brand Superstar,’ Ranveer Singh takes centre stage in the film, embodying the spirit of those who refuse to settle. The ad follows individuals chasing success athletes striving for greatness, artists creating magic, and families shaping young minds all set against a backdrop of stunning visuals, stirring narratives, and, of course, the Kylaq as the ultimate companion for the driven and determined.

    Mumbai: Leading visual communication design company Trip Creative Services have been instrumental in designing the launch campaigns for Skoda Auto India’s new car launches, the ‘Skoda Kushaq’ and the ‘Skoda Salvia’ with event partners 70EMG.

    Trip was involved at multiple stages of the launches from the very beginning as part of the PR and communications team initiative of Skoda Auto India. Content design, social media marketing and execution for multiple campaigns from the naming film, to the covered drive content, videos, photos, and teasers to the world static premiere which also included content for a hybrid live and online virtual conference, to the market launch online premiere of the Kushaq. With shoots in the Czech Republic, and various cities across India, the deliverable not only included multiple films across various formats, platforms and events but also the launch websites with WebGL, AR filters for Instagram and Fb, VR modules, Infographics, Car 3D renders, VFX and much more. The world static premiere of the Slavia was the most-watched online car event in the history of Indian Car launches on youtube and Instagram garnering over one lakh live audiences with over 15 million views in the first 24 hours along with #SkodaSlavia was a trending number one in India on Twitter during that day.

    The AR filters for the Skoda Slavia, which won first place in the Cult Critic Movie Awards 2022, while Skoda Kushaq won the Web & New Media Outstanding Achievement Award at the Black Swan International Film Festival in February 2022.

    An investment of multiple crores across launches was made by Trip to make this project successful with 70EMG and Skoda Auto India. Currently, the automaker is clocking numbers over 5000 units sold per month, a major boost for the company. The models sold in India include the Kushaq, Slavia, Octavia and Superb.

    Mumbai: Car brand Škoda Auto India has unveiled an integrated ad campaign to promote its new offering, Škoda Kushaq.

    Conceptualised and executed by its creative partner Publicis India, the campaign highlights the unique advantages that come with the car and rides on the idea of how choosing what really matters makes a difference in one’s life.

    The campaign is built on the core proposition of ‘Choose What Really Matters,” which is a part of the auto brand’s overarching philosophy of ‘We Make What Matters.” It depicts how one always has choices and what one chooses determines the kind of memories and life they make. The SUV in the film is presented as a facilitator of those choices- a companion that helps people accomplish their desires which they will go on to cherish.

    “The intent of the campaign is to move away from the usual hyperbole that dominates most of the communications in the category and focus on simple and human truths,” said Škoda Auto India head of marketing Tarun Jha. “The Škoda Kushaq is a consummate and confident SUV, which lends itself to an authentic and credible positioning. The campaign aims to capture this simplicity.”

    The ad film begins with the protagonists enjoying all the things that matter to them, whether it is the simple joys of going shopping or watching a film or watching a sunset with a close one or just going on a long drive. It then goes on to underline that whatever the experience, one remembers only those things that really matter to us. The ad signs off on the message that what we remember depends on what we choose today.

    “It’s only when we see through the lens of retrospection that we’re glad about some of our decisions and not so glad about some. And in terms of communication, we were really excited about this insight. And what we have tried through this communication, is to encourage people to make the right choice today and have lesser regrets tomorrow,” affirmed Publicis India national creative director Vikash Chemjong.

    “On that note, I so wish I hadn’t bought a car a few months before the fabulous Kushaq was launched. Otherwise, I would have had the privilege of not only working on it but also driving to work in it,” he added.

    The campaign is being pushed across all essential mediums, including television, print, outdoor, radio, digital, social media and will run through the oncoming festival season in India.

    Meant for both current owners of Skoda vehicles and for prospective buyers, the WhatsApp Chat service provides easy and convenient access for customers in need of information. The service also ensures that consumers can avail of automated customer-care on a 24*7 basis. This tool is not only expected to boost overall customer engagement and improve communication, but it will also strengthen marketing via automation.

    Tarun Jha, head of marketing at Skoda Auto India said, “In times like these, it’s important to turn to innovative, new solutions every day. With the WhatsApp Bot, we want to reassure our customers that we are always available and easily accessible for any query they may have. In light of the lockdown, it has become essential to provide customers with alternative avenues of communication and our on-demand customer support offering is going to do just that.     MUMBAI: ŠKODA AUTO India announced the commencement of its unique cricketing talent scouting programme – ŠKODA 'Single Wicket' – for the young and aspiring players in the ‘Under 12’ and ‘Under 14’ age categories. The first edition of this tournament will be organized between July 2019 and January 2020, and stands to witness the participation of 100,000 students, from 5,000 schools, across 50 cities nationwide.

    ŠKODA Single Wicket is a six-ball/one-over cricket tournament played between two players alternatively, that is, each participant will get a chance to bat, bowl, and demonstrate their skill set to an independent panel of jury members/selectors during the ‘City Trials’. The top eight performers, from each category, would advance to the ‘City Finals’ whereas all the participants will take home the official ŠKODA Single Wicket jerseys. Meanwhile, the parents and the guardians accompanying their loved ones will be able to experience the Czech marque, at specially designed ŠKODA AUTO engagement zones.

    The shortlisted 100 individuals, in the U-12 and the U-14 categories, will travel along with their parent to Mumbai, Maharashtra for the ‘National Finale’. Here, the national champions, across the two categories, will be awarded ₹ 10 lacs each while the runners up will take home ₹ 5 lacs each. An incredible pool of talent, technique and potential, the ‘City Winners’ from across the nation, will be awarded prizes worth ₹ 15,000 each.

    In the TVC, we see a daughter trying hard to convince her strict dad to buy the latest Rapid Onyx, but in turn receives an unexpected surprise reaction from him. The film captures the many features of the new car including the reasonable price tag it carries, and why it is a family winner all the way.
