    FoodFood bags four awards at 7th Golden Star Awards

    MUMBAI: It’s time for celebrations at FoodFood. The 24×7 food lifestyle channel bagged four awards at the 7th Golden Star Awards 2015.

     

    The channel was awarded as the ‘Most admired food brand of the year’, ‘Best celebrity host – Chef Amrita Rai Chand’, ‘Best on-ground food brand promotion event’, ‘Maa ki Daal’ and ‘Best event manager – Suman Chandra’.

     

    Speaking about the wins, Turmeric Vision CEO SK Barua said that ever since FoodFood changed its stance towards laying greater emphasis on the element of food lifestyle, the channel has been able to broaden its horizons and create a greater reach with its audience.

     

    “We are elated that FoodFood has been recognised by the Golden Star Awards for our work in the Hospitality sector and our efforts in bringing people closer to food. Gaining recognition from Golden Star helps us validate our work of going in the right direction,” Barua added.

     

    Going forward, the channel aims to create more such content that provides viewers with thought-provoking and insightful looks into how eating habits and traditions are inextricably linked to personal identity, lifestyle and history.

    FoodFood ropes in Ruchir Joshi to head content

    MUMBAI: FoodFood, food lifestyle channel, has got on-board a creative media professional Ruchir Joshi to head the content of the channel. Joshi’s role will be to conceptualise and execute the cutting edge content that speaks to a global audience.

    FoodFood CEO SK Barua believes that he comes with a proven track record of leadership and the company is pleased to have a content head with his experience to drive the channel’s growth and profitability. “We are extremely happy to have attracted a talented executive like Ruchir for programming, overlooking on air promotions and supporting new media. We look forward to his success in this new role.”

    Joshi, who comes with a 17 years experience, stated that the opportunity to head the channel content interested him. He feels the key is to discover what food lifestyle means in its cultural context and then be able to make original content that is not a poor ‘me too’ of the west.

     
    Prior to this, Joshi was a co-founder and promoter of ‘Via Earth’ that made TV shows that have aired on broadcasters like BBC, CNN and Discovery. He has also done shows for channels such as Zee Cafe, Star One and Filmy. Having a vast experience of over 17 years, he has led all aspects of programming including acquisition, commissioning, syndication, scheduling and production.

    FoodFood launches ‘K for Kids’

    MUMBAI: A majority of kids don’t know French fries come from potatoes! Or that ketchup is made from tomatoes. Many children even don’t have a basic understanding of where food comes from. But if they are inspired to step in to the kitchen and cook a meal from start to finish, they will discover that some of their favorite foods come from fruits, vegetables and other “real” products.

     

    K for Kids– A brand new show especially created for kids’ launches on FOODFOOD, India’s No 1 food lifestyle channel, every Sunday, at 1.00 pm. An innovative cooking show, jointly with Kissan, is based on health and nutrition, created for the kids, by the kids and of the kids, in the age group of 7 to 10 years. The show will help children develop cooking skills, while demonstrating how to make easy, irresistible, delicious recipes. The show, anchored by Chef Shipra Khanna, the winner of MasterChef 2 India, will have a bunch of enthusiastic kids, each week, featuring different original recipes that children will learn to make themselves.

    “This specially created kiddies’ show has taken a more mischievous and scientific approach to things. What sort of food makes you fat? What turns you  green? What is the nutritious value of leafy monsters? This is the sort of stuff that children thrive on, opening up their enquiring little minds. Hopefully, these kids, by the end of each episode, will know how to cook; and realize just how much fun cooking can actually be,” said SK Barua of FOODFOOD.”

    Against the backdrop of a bright vivid cafe kitchen sets, Chef Shipra and her entourage, will cook up very, very simple food for those eternal fussy eaters. Imagine enjoying a yummy Ragi roll with a delicious fruit spread! In between cooking there’s going to be a lot of rhyming, singing and bizarre fun and masti.

    While cooking for adults and with adults seems a passe on TV, cooking along with kids and for kids, their favorite food, seemed to be a lot more uplifting and encouraging. Sure there will be some precocious flourishes here and there, but that’s a part & parcel of a kid’s world!

     

    Chef Shipra in her pristine and proper appearance is absolutely comfortable being surrounded by children. With her little battalion, voicing their likes and dislikes, she teaches them that simple art of making their favorite dishes. The focus on nutrition and healthy eating is laudable for sure, and there’s a lot for mothers too!

    K for Kids is sure to help budding little chefs realize   just how much fun cooking can actually be. The show is bound to inspire your children to get in the kitchen.

    MUMBAI: FoodFood, the food lifestyle channel which has recently announced several senior level appointments, launched international shows and most recently, a renewed positioning for the channel, has brought in Vaibhav Vishal as its creative head to sizzle up the channel.

     

    “We are extremely happy to have attracted a talent like Vaibhav who brings with him a rich background in creative, marketing and media. Vaibhav spearheaded the new repositioning campaign for the channel and we are confident that through the new shows he has clearly articulated the brand vision and desired positioning to lead the network into the next level. With him on board we are sure he will give new impetus to his experience in programming and related areas,” said SK Barua.

Starting out with advertising, he has been an AVP – creative and content at MTV, the national creative head at Red FM, taking care of its entire national network and a brand strategist for several independent consulting projects.
