    Pepsi introduces simon fuller’s new group now united to india

    MUMBAI: For generations, PEPSI has had an intrinsic connection with music, working with legendary artists and discovering and supporting emerging talents. The iconic brand today announced a partnership between Simon Fuller’s new project, global pop group NOW UNITED, and BADSHAH, one of India’s favorite rappers. Badshah, managed by Sony Music India and the group comprised of 14 singers and dancers from all across the globe will record a song titled “[ How We Do It]” that will be released [November 29th.] Pepsi will also support Now United’s first trip to India beginning November 26th. The group will visit Mumbai, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, sharing their experiences with their fans in India and around the world as they go.

    With pop-culture at its heart and a finger on the pulse of trends, Pepsi has always created experiences that connect with consumers in the most relevant ways. For decades, Pepsi has harnessed the power of music to connect with generations of fans and elevate rising artists. The collaboration between Badshah and Now United for a new song is part of this aim to provide emerging artists with a powerful stage to promote their stories, share their art and connect with new and existing fans.

    The collaboration has been curated by One Digital Entertainment, India’s leading creator and video network that also manages Badshah’s digital ventures and is also enabling the distribution of the song across various digital, TV and radio platforms.

    Introduced in 2017 by Simon Fuller, the creator of the popular American Idol series, pop group Now United is comprised of 14 rising singers and dancers from across the world, including India, Brazil, Philippines, Finland, Senegal and the United States of America, amongst others. 17-year-old sensation Shivani, who hails from Udaipur, represents India in the pop group.

    Echoing his thoughts, rapper Badshah said, “Over the years, Pepsi has created powerful platforms which allow artists to connect with their fans in unique ways. By collaborating with Now United, I am getting a chance to perform in a different way than I ever have before. They are an incredibly talented group of artists and I am really excited about the chance to perform with them. They’re going to be in Mumbai soon and we have some exciting things planned. I cannot wait for my fans to see what we have in store. ”

    Simon Fuller said, “I first worked with Pepsi with the then unknown group, Spice Girls. Here I am, many years later, working with Pepsi again continuing to push the boundaries with my new global pop group, Now United. Thanks to Pepsi we have been introduced to the extraordinary Badshah, an artist with huge respect and popularity. His collaboration with Now United on the song ‘How We Do It' is an incredible combination.  I can’t wait for our Indian journey together to begin!”

    MUMBAI: Soccer icon David Beckham is joining British pay TV service provider Sky as an ambassador work to support grassroots sport and encourage participation across Britain and Ireland.

     

    During this long-term partnership, Beckham will also feature in ads to promote sport and services offered by Sky.

     

    In his role as a Sky ambassador, he will help to use the power of sport to change lives through the Sky Sports Living for Sport initiative. Now in its tenth year, this free initiative uses the stories and expertise of athlete mentors to inspire young people to learn new skills and improve their lives. Around 30,000 young people a year participate in the programme, which reaches one third of all secondary schools in Britain and has just launched in Ireland. Beckham is managed by Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment.

     

    In joining Sky, Beckham teams up with other sporting icons part of the company’s support for British sport and grassroots participation. They include Olympic gold medalist Jessica Ennis CBE, who became an ambassador for Sky Sports last year; Sir David Brailsford, Principal of Team Sky and the architect behind the exceptional performance of British Cycling; and Sir Bradley Wiggins, five times Olympic gold medalist and first ever British winner of the Tour de France.

     

    Beckham said, “Sky have followed my career since I broke into the Manchester United first team. They have done a huge amount to promote and encourage involvement in sport in Britain and I am delighted to be joining them. I have always been passionate about the importance of sport in the lives of young people. It is not all about winning – just getting involved in sport gives you confidence and skills for life.     NBC to look at the Posh life of Victoria Beckham in reality show

    MUMBAI: Football star David Beckham’s better half Victoria Beckham who was formerly known as Posh Spice has signed a deal with US broadcaster NBC for a new reality series from Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.

    It will give viewers an exclusive inside look at Beckham’s glamorous life as she makes the move across the pond from London to Los Angeles. The six, half-hour episodes are slated to premiere this summer.

    NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly says, “The series will give viewers a glimpse into what makes Victoria so popular and admired as one of the most glamorous women in the world. She makes news wherever she goes and our audience can now become insiders in this fascinating personal view of what being ‘Posh’ truly represents.”

    Beckham says, “I am so excited to be making this show for NBC with Simon Fuller. He has so much success around the world with his TV shows and the respect and trust of everybody he works with. This show is really something different, it’s pushing the boundaries and I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people.”

    Fuller says, “For the past few years, I’ve been inundated with requests to make a show based on Victoria’s real life. After much thought, we have finally decided to do it. NBC will be our partners. Both Kevin Reilly and Craig Plestis have been extremely supportive in allowing us to do something a little different. This show will cross all genres and hopefully will pleasantly surprise a few people!”

    Beckham burst onto the scene as a member of the pop group The Spice Girls. Known around the world as “Posh Spice,” the group sold millions of albums worldwide before it disbanded in 2001.

    American Idol Hicks signs with 19 Recordings

    MUMBAI: The 2006 winner of American Idol Taylor Hicks has signed a recording deal with Simon Fuller and 19 Recordings Limited, in conjunction with legendary music man Clive Davis, chairman of BMG US and Arista Records.

    The finale on 24 May was the most successful season of American Idol with over 35 million viewers tuning into the finale.
    The 29 year old Alabama native, joins the ranks of other idols that have gone on to have outstanding music careers under the guidance of Davis. Previous Idol winners and runner ups have sold a staggering 33 million records, which includes music from Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, Ruben Studdard and Bo Bice.

    The first single from Hicks includes the original Idol composition, “Do I Make You Proud,” sung during the final round of voting and again during the finale. The single also includes his rendition of the Doobie Brothers classic, “Takin’ It To The Streets,” from the American Idol season five encores CD. The single will be available in-stores and through digital outlets on 13 June.

    Hicks’ legion of loyal followers dubbed the “soul patrol” and fans all across the country can expect a full length album from Hicks later this year.
