    Sifymax inks deal with SET for ‘Bigg Boss’ website

    MUMBAI: Sifymax.com, the broadband portal from Sify Limited, has announced an alliance with Sony Entertainment Television to be the official website of their Indian adaptation of Big Brother, the reality show Bigg Boss. As per the tie-up, Sifymax will feature exclusive footage from each episode, as well as footage not shown on television.

    Sifymax will feature the Bigg Boss show format, profile of the anchor, profiles of contestants who are part of the show, weekly results, chats and message boards. Exclusive podcasts-voice excerpts from the evicted participant and Bigg Boss will be also be aired on a weekly basis.

    “The site is interactive with Bigg Boss fan polls, task ideas, poll feedback, Big Boss blogs and an exclusive Bigg Boss merchandise store. Apart from being the official broadband partner for the program, Sifymax also holds the rights to market the website www.biggboss.sifymax.com, informs an official release.

    Zee TV associates with Sifymax for ‘Cinestars’ auditions

    MUMBAI: Zee TV, which is targeting an October launch of its reality talent hunt property ‘Cinestars’, has associated with Sifymax for the on-ground auditions. The auditions will be held in 154 cities across India using the technology edge of Sify and its 3400 plus iWay cyber cafes.The channel has, meanwhile, kicked off its first phase of the auditions.

    Procedure of an audition: The participant will sit in front of the web camera at the iWay cyber cafe and record his / her talent stint, further to which the same will be uploaded on Sifymax.com. Prior to performing their respective stints, guidelines in the form of tutorials will be given to the participants in the form of audio-video content.

    Says Zee TV marketing head Tarun Mehra on the association, “Zee Cinestars is an all India contest and understandably the auditions requires a lot of hard work. But, with the help of Sifymax, we have simplified the whole process. The technology lessens the load and this helps us to channelise our resources to the other areas of the project.”

    As per the official release, Sify iWays will act as talent hubs for aspiring participants as it will make the audition process simple and comfortable for the contestants by allowing them to come to the iWays, showcase their talent, record and upload it on www.zeecinestar.sifymax.com.

    Mehra adds that, the auditions will conclude by the second week of September, after which the process of shortlisting will begin. “The shoot will begin by mid-September and we expect to launch the show by Diwali,” he says.

    MUMBAI: Broadband portal Sifymax is providing World Cup updates in five different languages – Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

    This initiative is an attempt to enhance the reach and the accessibility to the Fifa World Cup available in “our national language and other south based languages”, according to an official release.

    Besides providing Fifa updates on sify home page www.sify.com, the language channels have also been linked to the city channels namely, www.sifymax.com, www.bangalorelive.in and www.samachar.com.

    Sify is webcasting India-England ODIs

    MUMBAI: Sify, which works in the area of consumer Internet and Enterprise Services in India with global delivery capabilities, is live webcasting the current One Day International (ODIs) series between India and England.

    Sify senior VP interactive services Surya Mantha said, “This is another first in our quest to provide the most exciting India-centric broadband content for Internet users. Cricket in India goes beyond a national passion- its practically a religion! Now broadband users will be able to watch the ODIs from the office, or from Sify iWays in over 149 cities across the country.

    “The live webcast of the first ODI on 28 March at the Feroze Shah Kotla ground in Delhi received an overwhelming response, and confirms our belief that there is a large and growing number of broadband users who are turning to the Net for all their needs. Our intention is to make www.sifymax.in their home on the web with initiatives such as this”.

    SifyMax holds the internet and broadband rights for India for the live webcast of the one day series. So SifyMax users will be able to view each match live, ball-by-ball, as they would on TV.

    For users who are unable to access the live feed due to overwhelming demand, a live video scorecard is also available on SifyMax. The video scorecard provides video clips of the highlights of the game as it unfolds- how 4’s and 6’s were hit, how the wickets fell, catches and run outs.

    The live webcasts can also be accessed from over 3100 iWay cyber cafes across the country as they all have broadband connectivity.

    MUMBAI: Indian broadband content site SifyMax is doing live webcasting of the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) 2006. The event is taking place in Mumbai till 1 April.

    SifyMax is the official Internet partner for the event for the Fall/Winter week, and in September/October for the Spring/Summer week. SifyMax is hosting the Official LFW 2006 site. It is webcasting the event live and hosting exclusive content from the event. SifyMax will also be accessible from several points at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), in downtown Mumbai, the venue for LFW 2006.

    BANGALORE: www.sifymax.in, the broadband portal from Sify Limited, has launched www.bangalorelive.in, the country’s first city-centric broadband website.

    Bangalorelive.in will showcase original Bangalore-centric video content, created exclusively for an online audience. The videos will focus on city news and events, entertainment, celebrities, lifestyle, commerce and politics, anchored by Net Jockeys (NJs), a new concept introduced by Bangalorelive in India. The Net Jockeys will also present daily news bulletins on video, covering the latest happenings in the city extensively.

    The broadband website also features, for the first time in India, live video feeds from traffic web-cams stationed at key junctions of the city including Brigade Road and Hosur Road, states an official release.

    A key aspect of Bangalorelive is the options for users to publish their views, participate in Bangalore-specific discussions and upload their own content in images and videos, the release adds. They can also message greetings through Short Message Service (SMS) to their friends who are using the site that will scroll across the home page on a ticker. The idea is to make Bangalorelive the online resource and home for Bangalore’s citizens, and the perfect way for Banglorian living elsewhere to stay in touch with what’s happening in their home city.
