    MUMBAI: The enchanting songs of ‘Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela.’, which gracefully brought Shri Krishna’s timeless leelas to life in the mega-musical, is now available on all music streaming platforms worldwide. Conceptualised by visionary Dhanraj Nathwani, the soundtracks of the theatrical have been composed by renowned composer duo Sachin-Jigar, and the lyrics have been penned by celebrated lyricist Padma Shri Awardee Prasoon Joshi.

    20 original melodic tracks, which illuminated the auditorium with their captivating lyrics and lively scores, are now available for streaming, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in the magic of the grand musical. The songs elegantly capture the unconditional love between a mother and son, the enchanting love story of Radha and Krishna, and the mischievousness of Balgopal, evoking a wide range of emotions.

    Dhanraj Nathwani said, “Music stirs a rich blend of emotions and leaves a lasting impact on individuals. And Rajadhiraaj’s songs have resonated deeply with the audience across generations, Shri Krishna’s leelas have reached them through music. The enthusiasm we witnessed among the spectators here in Delhi and Mumbai led us to release these soul-stirring songs on the streaming platforms, ensuring they reach a wider audience. Of the 20 tracks, we are releasing 11 right now. We are hopeful that everyone will love them as much as we loved creating them.”

    The composition is a blend of Western symphonic elements from Budapest and Indian classical music, highlighting multiple musical genres such as haveli sangeet, Rajasthani and Gujarati folk, Sapakra, Raas Garba, and Hindustani semi-classical music. To capture the flavours of various regions of India, the musical duo also incorporated local instrumentalists, including tabla, dholak, shehnai, and others. The songs have been sung by renowned singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, Sachin Sanghvi, Parthiv Gohil, Keerthi Sagathia and Jonita Gandhi.

    Revealing the idea behind the creation of the lively composition, music composer Sachin-Jigar said, “It was an interesting as well as quite challenging project for us and we thrive on such experiences. We have grown up hearing the songs and stories of Shri Krishna from our grandparents and this musical was an opportunity to bring the Krishna we know to the audience. To add depth, we blended Western and Indian classical music, while also experimenting with different local instruments to create unique and dynamic melodies. Each song is different from the other, and each one is close to our hearts.”

    After a stellar run at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), ‘Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela.’ — the world’s first mega-musical on Shri Krishna’s life graced Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Auditorium in the last week of November. Executive Producer Bhoomi Nathwani presents the musical masterpiece, which seamlessly blends rich storytelling, stunning visuals, and soul-stirring live music. The show received an enthralling response from the audience in both cities, uniting generations under one roof to celebrate the rich tapestry of art, culture, and tradition. The musical is set to premiere in Dubai in 2025.

    Mumbai: Whisper, feminine-care brand from Procter & Gamble, has created history by launching the nation’s own Period Song, with India’s biggest voices – Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan. Both the musicians created their own versions of the ‘Period Song, launching it today on World Menstrual Hygiene Day.  Whisper has provided period education to over 100 million girls and women till date and are shining the spotlight on the early onset of menstruation among young girls in the fifth edition of its popular Keep Girls in School movement. Through this catchy tune with very relevant, educative lyrics for young minds, the intent is to get every Indian to sing it and believe – Periods is a sign of being healthy.

    Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan created their own version of the period song, through which they taught school children about menstruation, who later joined them by singing along and dancing to the tune.

    “I am so excited to sing India’s own period song, which I hope, will reach every citizen of India and empower young girls to live their lives confidently and without fear – both in school and outside of it. It is shocking that girls are getting periods as early as the age of 8 which makes it even more critical for Whisper’s period song to break societal taboos by educating girls early on and preventing school dropouts. The song is so catchy and joyful that it plays in my mind throughout the day, and I can’t resist humming it. It is a great way to tell all boys and girls that – Periods ka matlab healthy hai aap. It is a song that India truly needed and I’m proud to be associated with it,” said Sunidhi Chauhan.

    “I am honoured to lend my voice for Whisper’s period song. It’s so important to educate young children about periods so that they are prepared and there is no fear. Our effort is to let young girls know that getting their periods irrespective of their age means that they are healthy. Girls are getting their periods as early as the age of 8, and this puts about 26 million girls in India at the risk of dropping out of school without proper period education and products. Kudos to Whisper to taking the initiative and normalising periods by teaching young children about it. I was so happy to create the song in different languages, so it can truly become the song of the nation,” said singer Shreya Ghoshal

    Studies show that one in five girls have been at the risk of dropping out of school due to lack of period education and products*. With girls starting periods at as early as the age of 8 years, this could escalate further. Without period awareness, 26 million girls could be at the risk of dropping out of school^. Whisper’s Keep Girls in School program has been working on normalising periods and providing girls with the right education and period products, so that they don’t have to compromise on their future and can continue staying in school.  Till date Whisper has taught over 100 million girls and women about periods and distributed sanitary pads. Every year, they go to over 50,000 schools to conduct period education sessions.

    Shreya Ghoshal sang the mukhda, or “face of the song,” Periods Ka Matlab Healthy Hai aap in eight different languages including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi and many others: truly making it the song of the Nation on periods.

    ‘The song was originally composed and directed by music director Aman Pant, and via clever use of music, Whisper has given a wonderful tool to society, to educate young girls and boys about periods. With the biggest voices in the country picking this momentum, it can help break taboos and normalise periods as a sign of being a strong and healthy girl.

    Zee TV revamps new season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa; to air from 26 March

    MUMBAI: Zee TV announced the revamp of one of its most popular homegrown talent showsSa Re Ga Ma Pawhich completed 20 years recently. The talent show helped enrich the Indian music fraternity with gems from its homegrown talent pool.

    The channels has roped in Amul as the title sponsor, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is powered by Flipkart’ and driven by Hyundai. Also Zee TV is hoping for another co-powered by sponsor for the show.  Starting from 26 March, the show will be aired at 9:30pm.

    The channel has relaunched Sa Re Ga Ma Pa with new logo and a new concept. For the first time ever, a panel of 30 jury members who are experts from the music fraternity, will closely assess aspiring singers’ right from the audition stage and help the mentors in the selection process.  The jury represents different components of today’s music scene from DJs and music producers to singers, arrangers and lyricists.

    Talking with Indiatelevision.com, Zee TV business head Pradeep Hejmadi said, “The format has grown with the aegis and the engagement of the industry and for the mentors. For us Sa Re Ga Ma Pa doesn’t live for three months, it lives for the ages. Singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Divya, KunalGanjawala, ShekharRavjiani, Bela Shende, Sanjivani, Kamal Khan are the brands for us. This year’s there is very conscious participative opportunity in the show based on ability. For example,a music director will look at things very differently. It’s just not the voice that matters it’s the art of putting all things together that is important. Hence we thought that the jury will be the part of the show as the mentors will be sharpening them and then they will be evaluated by the jury. So that’s the balance we want to keep this time.”

    The channel has also introduced the 100 sec clock in the show.“It’s very important for a person to understand that time is precious. People needs to value time, talent and need to give their best performance in those 100 secs. Times don’t wait for anybody. There will be no retakes or second chance as they get enough time to rehearse,” adds Hejmadi.

    The mentors include the Dabangg duo from BollywoodSajid-Wajid and the affable, endearing and multiple award-winning Pritam Chakraborty who’s known to constantly offer opportunities to young newcomers. Joining them for the very first time on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is the king of Indi-Pop and Bollywood playback, the performer par excellence – Mika Singh. The young and charming Aditya Narayan groomed in a family with great musical lineage, returns to host the upcoming season.

    Sa Re Ga Ma Pa will also be available on its digital platform Ditto TV and OZEE.
    At 9.30pm, the show will be pitched against Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming comedy show with comedy king Kapil Sharma which will go live from 23 April at 9 pm on weekends.

    “India’s Best Dramebaaz has done really well for the channel. Once people get attached to a particular show then they will find time to watch the show. So channels will come and go and some new shows will come but certain shows will always stays. Zee has been the pioneer in this format, its first one to start in the industry and we have a very powerful run,”said Hejmadi further.

    The channel has aggressive promotion plans for one of its most popular shows. “Digital will remain the important part of promotions. We will be unleashing the brand campaign with the core brand of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. After that we will go into the components to showcase what goes in the show and what will be different in the it,” informedHejmadi.

    Zee TV is also planning to take Sa Re Ga Ma Pa international. “Music is a form of expression. In India we recite different kinds of songs and so in any other country. What we intend to do is to showcase some of the fabulous talent and get out in those market and do the local version of Sa ReGa Mas. Every SaReGaMa has to start at very particular level. There is intent to take Sa Re Ga Ma Pa international with a local version rather then bring international participants here, informed Hejmadi.
