    Network18’s Palki Sharma to make comeback with a new show?

    Mumbai: News personality and Wion’s ex-managing editor Palki Sharma, who recently joined Network18 Group for an upcoming project, is likely to be back with a new show soon.

    In a conversation with ANI’s managing editor Smita Prakash on her podcast, Sharma hinted at her return, hopefully, with a better show.

    In the recently announced teaser of the episode by ANI, Sharma was recalling the reason why she left her previous channel, Wion: “… left because I thought that whatever I wanted to do there, I had done there…”

    Moreover, she also shared that she did not enjoy everything that she was doing there and didn’t like the direction they were taking.

    Acknowledging the curiosity of the fans and their desire to know about her return, Sharma said, “A lot of people write to me, and every time I put a photo on Instagram, people are like, yeh toh theek hai par show kab ayega? which is nice, but I want to tell you and everyone else that… I will be back, and it will be a better show hopefully…and I want to do the show when I am ready, when I know it is going to work.”

    Sharma has over 21 years of experience across several media, including the ITV Network, Network18, Doordarshan News, and The Hindustan Times.

    She was the host of Gravitas, a popular prime-time English news programme, as well as the highly regarded digital programme Gravitas Plus on Wion. Additionally, she conceptualised and oversaw the Wion Global Summit, a channel event held annually in Dubai.

    In a career spanning over two decades, Sharma has interviewed several national and international heads of state. She has also covered important stories and events on the ground, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the Quad Summits in Tokyo and Washington DC, and many others.

    At Network18, Sharma will launch a new multi-platform video project for the group. This will be her second stint at Network18, where she has earlier worked in different capacities.

    The video project to be built and led by Sharma will straddle all formats of news reporting and presentation. The new product will aim to capture a new generation of audiences for the group.

    Mumbai: One Take Media Co. has announced its “New Week, New Drama” return with popular drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo this week for its audience.

    This show has a lovely couple in the lead, Lee Song-Kyoung and Nam Joo-Hyuk, playing Kim Bok Joo and Jung Joon Hyung, respectively. A coming-of-age story about a group of college athletes who are fighting for their dreams, experiencing and finding love in the process, and growing every step of the way. 20-year-old Bok Joo is a weightlifter who is pursuing her dream of winning a gold medal, but she then finds romance for the first time in her life. The characters in this drama are elite athletes in weightlifting, swimming, and rhythmic gymnastics who work hard to achieve their goals in life. Watch this space next week for new show updates.

    One Take Media Co. is set to bring its all-popular Korean dramas dubbed in Hindi and in their original Korean language with English subtitles. Also, as informed recently, they have launched their OTT app, Playflix.

    According to a recent Netflix study done in India, the number of Indians watching Korean dramas has surged by 370 per cent and BTS (Bangtan Boys), a South Korean boy band formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment, is India’s fourth most streamed, according to Spotify’s 2020 data.

    ‘Indian Idol’ set to return with season 13 from 10 September on Sony

    Mumbai: Sony Entertainment Television is all set to launch season 13 of its flagship singing reality show, Indian Idol. The show will premiere on 10 September and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 p.m.

    This year’s campaign “Phir saath aane ka bahana hai, ab mausam musicana hai” brought alive the celebration of music and togetherness.

    The show will be hosted by Aditya Narayan and the ultimate trio – Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani – will reprise their roles as judges once again. The channel noted that they are here to make the ‘mausam musicana!’

    SET head-programming (non-fiction), channel Sonal Yadav said, “Indian Idol is a revolutionary show that has set a precedent since its launch.     News9 Plus launches new OTT series ‘Duologue with Barun Das’

    Mumbai: The first season of four mini-episodes for TV9 Network’s latest OTT series, Duologue with Barun Das, has been released.

    TV9 Network MD & CEO Barun Das introduces an exchange of ideas not prompted by headline management, but rather to evolve emancipated influencer conversations on the Network’s newly launched OTT video magazine, News9 Plus.

    The show made its debut with “Liger” actor Vijay Devrakonda. Das and Devrakonda discuss not only the Telugu boom in Bollywood but the lives and times of both as they exchange hitherto unknown experiences and perspectives.

    Next in line on Duologue with Barun Das, Das engages with the UK’s former prime minister David Cameron, who made history by becoming the country’s youngest leader in two centuries, forging unrivalled ties with India. Cameron speaks about India’s role in the emerging global order.

    Speaking on the philosophy of Duologue, Das said, “Duologue is a cerebral conversation with a legend or a legend in the making. That’s the profile the show will feature.     Mumbai: Sony SAB is all set to bring the Alibaba folk tale to the small screen, but in a never-seen-before avatar. Sony SAB’s new show Alibaba-Dastaan-e-Kabul promises viewers the opulence and grandeur they have never witnessed before on Indian television.

    Produced by Peninsula Pictures, the show is set against the backdrop of the enchanting city of Kabul. The stellar ensemble cast in the lead roles includes debutant Sheezan Khan as Alibaba and Tunisha Sharma in the role of Mariam.

    The outdoor scenes of the show have been shot in the exotic locales of Ladakh. It is set to air its premiere on Sony SAB from August 22nd, at 8 p.m., every Monday to Saturday.

    The show is a tale of a charismatic young man, Alibaba, with undeterred optimism and mesmerising charm. He is the custodian of five adorable orphans.     Mumbai:  “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it” – based on this simple yet impactful poem by Rumi, Zindagi announces the Indian television premiere of its romantic short film, “Guddu Engiineer.” 

    Setting the perfect vibe for a Sunday binge fest, “Guddu Engiineer” is a story that will nudge your hearts and leave you ecstatic and wanting more. 

    Produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani (Emmay Entertainment) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises chief creative officer – special projects Shailja Kejriwal and directed by the versatile Nikkhil Advani, featuring talented actors Prabuddh Dyma (Guddu) and Pranali Ghogare (Sonia) in the lead, the film is set to premiere on Zindagi’s DTH platforms Tata Play, Dish TV and D2H on 10 July at 8 pm.

    “Guddu Engiineer” traces the story of three friends living at a hostel in Varanasi. Guddu, the primary character, who can’t speak, falls in love with Sonia. To celebrate her birthday, he makes a list of her favorite things and makes an attempt to fulfill all her wishes. However, a certain turn of events causes him to make a choice between love and hate, which in turn alters everything around him. 

    Talking about his film, director Nikkhil Advani said, “I believe films and stories inspire people and bring to them a different perspective of things each time. Great stories help connect to a larger audience and rise above all kinds of barriers.  A film like “Guddu Engiineer” is like a warm hug and speaks volumes about love in its own little way.
