    Blue & Blues aims to be a Rs 50 crore brand

    KOLKATA: Blue & Blues, an Italian leather products brand, plans to expand its presence to other Asian and Middle East markets by the year 2015, apart from setting up new trends in leather accessories.

     

    It aims to build Rs 50 crore brand within next one and a half year.

     

    The brand was created by two Italian fashion visionaries – Francesco Lanzaratto and Fulvio Rovaris, but after the death of Lanzaratto, Kolkata headquartered leather good exporting company, Unique International, joined hands with Rovaris, to bring the brand to India.

     

     “Our aim is to create a distinct mark of tradition in this lifestyle brand vertical. We are looking at tapping other Asian and Middle East, US and UK markets by the year 2015 for expansion. We aim to build Blue & Blues as a Rs 50 crore brand in the next one and half years,” says Blue & Blues Fashion (India) director Praveen Agarwal.

     

    On the various marketing initiatives undertaken to promote the brand, he says, “The company undertakes various point-of-purchase activities to promote the brand and through different strategies they always highlight a factor which is ‘value proposition’.”

     

    Highlighting some strategic campaigns like ‘coloured leather is all about coloured skin’, Agarwal informs that Ogilvy & Mather is the communication partner.

     

    All Blue & Blues products are styled in Italy. Instead of the conventional black and brown leathers, it uses original leathers in vibrant colours like red, orange, yellow , blue, pink, golden, silver, just to name a few.

     

    When asked about the availability of the leather products, he said that the brand is available at premium MBO’s like Shoppers Stop, Landmark, Central, Lifestyle, Ritu Wears, Witco and in select boutique stores apart from standalone showrooms in Kolkata and Gurgaon. “Internationally, it has its presence in countries like Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, and Belgium among other places,” says Agarwal.

     

    The company also plans to open stores in Delhi followed by Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad within the next year, concludes Agarwal.

    Shoppers Stop to up ad spends to Rs 500 mn next fiscal

    BANGALORE: Fashion and lifestyle large format department store chain Shoppers Stop plans to spend around Rs 500 million towards marketing and communications.

    This fiscal the chain has planned spends of Rs 450 million. The thrust will be mainly through online social media, newsprint and some outdoor, revealed Shoppers Stop Ltd customer care associate and marketing director Govid Shirkande to www.indiantelevision.com.

    Shirkande was in Bangalore for the launch of the brand’s 50th store in India and its sixth store in Bangalore. Shoppers Stop is also looking at television for mass media communication.

    Over the next two years Shoppers Stop plans to increase the store count to around 65 at the rate of about eight stores per year as well as enter tier-2 towns in India. It has planned spends of Rs 2.5 billion towards expansion. At present it is present in 22 cities and towns in the country.

    Overall across the various retail formats such as HomeStop, Crossword Book Store, Mothercare & Early Learning Centre and Hpercity, the group has around four million square feet of retail space. Over the next two years this will go up to about five million square feet.

    Shoppers Stop also is targeting the woman consumer since the business for women oriented products has been going up.

    “Once we enter the smaller towns and cities over the next two years, we plan to use television for mass media communications. At present, we create the awareness across the newsprint in the cities and towns that we are present in for a better connect with our customers,” revealed Shirkande further.

    Shoppers Stop has a huge fan following on facebook with the number of fans nearing two million. “Over the next few days, we should cross the two million fan mark on facebook,” said Shirkande. The brand is also present across 200 bill boards in the towns that it has outlets.

    MUMBAI: Flash Media Limited has associated with the premium retail giant Shoppers Stop for installing and managing Imedia (Dynamic Digital Signage) in all its stores across the country.

    Flash Media’s IMedia is a network of digital signage components like LCD/Plasma panels playing audio visual commercials. According to the agreement, Flash Media has installed over 350 wireless LCD/Plasma screens in the 19 stores of Shoppers stop across the country with an average of 20 screens in each store. The screens have been installed behind cash counters and major focal points in the store to ensure maximum consumer attention, informs an official release.
