GroupM sports report: Cricket leads in online buzz, but Olympics and Football are flexing their muscles

MUMBAI: India’s digital sports scene is a proper riot, with cricket still the undisputed king, but other sports are making a right racket too, according to GroupM ESP’s  Sporting Nation report for 2024. According to the data, a whopping 74.70 per cent of online sports conversations revolve around cricket, proving it’s more than just a game; it’s a national obsession.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) takes the crown for sporting event chatter, accounting for a staggering 56.65 per cent of all online discussions. It’s a two-month T20 spectacle that keeps fans glued to their screens and keyboards.

But the Paris Olympics also made a significant splash, grabbing 24.46 per cent of the online conversation. It seems India’s medal hopes in shooting, wrestling, javelin, and badminton whipped up a proper frenzy. And while the T20 World Cup saw a 15.17 percent share of discussion, the Olympics still pipped it to the post.
Football, meanwhile, trails behind at 12.62 per cent, showing a more “nuanced but demographically concentrated following.”

It’s not just the Indian Super League (ISL) getting tongues wagging; global events like the FIFA World Cup and European leagues are also part of the digital discourse.

When it comes to individual athletes, cricket’s Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli dominate, accounting for over two-thirds of all athlete-related discussions. Rohit’s T20 World Cup victory and Kohli’s “generational talent” debates keep them firmly in the spotlight.

Outside cricket, wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s Olympic disqualification sparked a wave of online sympathy, placing her third in athlete chatter. Neeraj Chopra, Manu Bhaker, Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, and chess champ Gukesh Dommaraju also made their mark, capturing the nation’s imagination.

Team-wise, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lead the IPL pack, while Mohun Bagan Super Giant reigns supreme in the ISL.

The data reveals that Indian sports fans are a passionate bunch, shaping narratives and amplifying their voices through digital platforms. They’re not just spectators; they’re active participants in the sporting drama. And with increased media penetration and improved streaming, their voices are louder than ever. It’s a proper digital sports carnival.

  • IN10 Media’s Ishara resumes shooting, set to bring fresh content

Mumbai: The IN10 Media Network’s general entertainment channel, Ishara, has resumed the shooting of its original shows, which remained suspended for weeks due to the second wave of the pandemic.

The shows Agni-Vayu, a romantic thriller, Paapnaashini Ganga, a mythological show, and family drama, Janani have begun shooting for new episodes while adhering to all the government rules to protect its cast and crew, the channel announced on Friday.

“The pandemic hit us hard, and like many other industries, the media and entertainment sector was no exception. With shoots getting cancelled, the broadcasters had to make do with reruns of existing shows or bring back older popular shows to the small screen,” said the channel in a statement.

Launched on 1 March, Ishara, is known for its version 2.0 of Indian soap operas. The shows cater to the changing mindset of the audiences while keeping the Indian culture and traditions intact.

Ever since the restrictions were announced on 14 April, television producers and broadcasters in Maharashtra had been struggling to run daily shows and bring fresh content. One of the worst-affected states, Maharashtra has now shown a consistent slowdown in the number of new infections in June, following which the state government began easing its strict rules in stages.

“With the situation improving and the government easing the restrictions, the GEC is ready to once again entertain the audiences with new plots & twists,” it announced on Friday.

  • No more TV & film shoots in Goa, govt enforces 15-day lockdown

No more TV & film shoots in Goa, govt enforces 15-day lockdown

New Delhi: With one of the highest rate of Covid2019 infections in the country, Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday announced a state-wide curfew in the state from 9 May to 23 May.

According to government data, Goa has recorded a positivity rate of 41 per cent, which has surpassed the infection rates in Delhi as well as Mumbai. “The positivity rate and death rate are increasing in the state. There is no shortage of oxygen and medicines in the state. A detailed order regarding the state-level curfew will be released by 4 pm on Saturday,” said Sawant.

The announcement comes hours after the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) cancelled all permissions granted for film and television serial shootings in the state in the wake of the raging pandemic. The ESG is Goa government’s nodal agency empowered to give permission for commercial shootings in the state.

Several film and TV serial makers from Mumbai and Chennai had recently shifted their sets to Goa after strict restrictions were imposed in Maharashtra and other states.

“We will not allow any shooting of films or television serials in public or private properties till the Covid2019 situation in the state comes under control,” ESG vice president Subhash Faldesai told PTI.

All those currently shooting films and serials in Goa have also been asked to wind up their schedules. The ESG said it will review its decision only after the situation is under control.

On Thursday, Goa reported its highest daily tally so far with 3,869 Covid2019 cases that took the count of infections to 1,08,267.

  • IFTPC proposes Bio-Bubble plan before Maharashtra Govt

IFTPC proposes Bio-Bubble plan before Maharashtra Govt

MUMBAI: Film and TV land juddered to a halt on Wednesday after the Maharashtra government imposed a ban on filming for a period of two weeks owing to the skyrocketing cases of Covid2019 in the state.

The new order is part of the Break The Chain guidelines, that states all shoots of films, television and advertisement will be put on hold from 14 April to 1 May. Until this order, production had been taking place with restrictions like avoiding filming scenes with large crowds or background dancers and no shoots during the weekend lockdown.

As the television and film industry gears up to brace the impact of the two-week-long restrictions in Maharashtra, several entertainment bodies and broadcasters met on Wednesday and decided to appeal to state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray to allow certain production-related activity by following Covid2019 safety protocols.

Television producer and Indian Films & TV Producers Council (IFTPC) chairman TV wing & web JD Majethia has said that while the entire fraternity supports the government in its fight to curb the spread of Covid2019, they have decided to approach Thackeray to allow shoots to go on with stricter measures.

“We are writing to the CM for a few exemptions during the next two weeks. People look forward to entertainment and fresh content while being confined to their homes during such a trying time,” said Majethia.

He also mentioned that the production houses who have created a bank of upcoming episodes will sustain and those who do not have fresh episodes in the pipeline will have to air repeat telecasts.

“Some film and television producers are also mulling over plans to shift productions to locations outside Maharashtra like Goa or nearby places to commence the shooting,” said Swastik Productions MD Rahul Kumar Tewary, who is currently shooting in Gujarat. “They are also changing the track of the shows to current times. The whole industry is facing a very challenging time despite following all the Covid2019 protocols the situation is uncontrollable and unpredictable. Broadcasters are also planning whether they want to air original content or repeat telecasts.”

The new restrictions could impact the shooting of around 90 TV shows, 50 Hindi movies, and 40 Marathi films. Apart from these, the production of a large number of web series will also be impacted.

While echoing the sentiment, Majethia mentioned that rather than changing locations, it would be easier for a fiction show to alter its storyline. However, it can be extremely difficult for a non-fiction property to create a whole new infrastructure, he highlighted. “Moving the entire cast and crew to a new location is a possibility but what will we do if the situation gets worse over there as well? A lot of shootings were happening in Madhya Pradesh but the government soon announced a lockdown, due to which ongoing shootings were immediately halted. These kinds of situations can happen anytime,” the producer said.

With the double-edged sword of rising caseloads and production shutdown at any time hovering over their heads, representatives of several producers’ bodies have decided to propose creation of bio-bubbles to the state government.

“This week, along with other stakeholders of the industry, we will present our plan on bio-bubble to the government. Through this move we are trying to build a confidence among government officials that if shooting gets resumed, we have a protected environment where we can shoot,” Majethia explained.

He also expressed fears that if the lockdown continues and fresh content dries up, it could be difficult to retain existing viewers, who may migrate to online streaming platforms for good.

Elara Capital research analyst Karan Taurani said TV shows will be most impacted by the shutdown, specifically Marathi and Hindi fiction and non-fiction shows.

Meanwhile, broadcasters and producers are working in tandem to tackle the situation. There is no penalty on late delivery of content and discussions are underway on extending the budget in case of outdoor shoots.

“TV broadcasters generally have a buffer of 10-15 days before a fresh episode is shown, hence the impact will be minimal if this restriction stays for 15 days, however in case of any extension, it will have a negative impact for broadcasters," pronounced Balaji Telefilms CEO Karan Taurani.

Bollywood is also feeling the heat. Films like Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan, Salman Khan-led Tiger 3 and Amitabh Bachchan’s Goodbye that were filming under these restrictions are now in limbo. Moreover, the industry is bearing losses as spot boys and other daily wagers have returned to their hometown due to no work.

“We support lockdown, but there has to be a way for us. The government talks about others but not daily wagers in our industry,” said the president of the All Indian Cine Workers Association.

  • IFTPC urges producers to follow Covid2019 guidelines to check spread

IFTPC urges producers to follow Covid2019 guidelines to check spread

MUMBAI: India on Thursday recorded its highest single-day addition of Covid2019 cases in 2021 so far — total cases rose by 35,871, which is the highest daily rise since 6 December 2020. On the other hand Maharashtra, on the same day, reported 25,833 new Covid2019 cases, the hightest one-day spike since last March when the first Sars-Cov-2 infection was detected. Various stakeholders of the Indian entertainment industry have taken measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

In view of the epidemic spread of Covid0919 virus throughout the world, including India, an urgent meeting by IFTPC held on 18 March 2021 had advised all production houses to strictly abide by all the Covid2019 protocols.

IFTPC CEO Suresh Amin said in a letter addressed to all the producers: “Last year exactly on this date the industry had ceased shootings unilaterally as a precaution against the Covid2019. Today the industry is functioning to near capacity. Unfortunately, fatigue and carelessness has crept into our system rather exponentially which needs to be rectified immediately.”

He further mentioned that the growing cases recently are not only worrisome, but have pushed the state government on the back foot and there is talk in the administration to take some drastic measures to hold back the spread of the virus. Amin feared that the media and entertainment industry will be the first target.

To thwart the possibility of a crackdown, IFTPC at a producers meeting held yesterday has decided to start a special drive to implement the government guidelines with renewed vigour. It is advised that all the producers should personally visit their sets and ensure that SOPs are implemented meticulously.

    Below are the guidelines:

    a.       Please avoid outdoor shoots immediately

    b.       Restrict the number of junior artists and avoid shooting scenes requiring large crowds.

    c.       Do not fall to pressures of the creative team to include extravagant scenes

    d.       Producer shall visit the sets personally in the next two days and send photographs of the set to IFTPC

    e.       Follow the SOP meticulously without making any exceptions

    f.        Ensure that all crew members are insured as directed earlier.

    g.       Restrict the crew size to 33 per cent as prevailing in July 2020.

Amin shared, “Today we are at the September 2020 situation and the wrath of the virus continues. We urge you to kindly ensure the implementation of the above in right earnest and oblige.”

MUMBAI: Indian Film & TV Producers Council (IFTPC) today held its twenty-ninth AGM and re-elected  Sajid Nadiadwala as president for the year 2020 2021. Nitin Vaidya is the new incumbent.

Nadiadwala addressed IFTPC team for restarting the shooting by engaging the government in continuous dialogue. He also praised the media and entertainment industry for generously helping cine workers and labourers. The new president complimented the IFTPC Team for working relentlessly in providing monetary aid and supplying food items to the industry workers. Nadiawala appreciated the effort for standing as a united body in times of difficulty to help the industry.  He mourned the sad demise of many industry stalwarts such as Rishi Kapoor, Irfan Khan and P.Balsubramanium.

IFTPC chairman TV wing JD Majethia in his address complimented the Maharashtra government for acting fast to restart the industry. He congratulated TV Producers for conducting the shoots very smoothly without any major mishaps. Majethia also mentioned the first-ever death Insurance of Rs 25 lakh provided to the workers had raised their confidence to attend their duties. He also said that when pessimism prevailed in the industry it was IFTPC that was confident and worked relentlessly to restart the industry.

Bollywood producer Ramesh Taurani, David Dhavan, indiantelevision.com group founder CEO & editor in chief Anil Wanwari, producer Rajan Shahi, Lalit Sharma, Bobby Arora, Sandeep Jain and Goldie Behl also attended the Indian Film & TV Producers meeting among others.

  • Film & TV shoots resume around the globe under Covid2019 protocols

Film & TV shoots resume around the globe under Covid2019 protocols

MUMBAI: The Covid2019 pandemic has had a substantial impact on the film and television industry, shutting down or delaying production of movies and programmes in many countries, with consequent negative ripples on revenues (through rights and advertising sales) and employment. But now, as countries across the globe gradually lift restrictions, filmmakers are heaving a sigh of relief.

Let’s take a look at how film and TV production is faring in key markets as the media and entertainment industry slowly comes back to life.

    New York

New York City, one of the most densely populated states in the US, was one of the epicentres of the Covid2019 outbreak. As shoots restarted, New York state has implemented various regulations to ensure film and television productions could be conducted safely.

In October, the state introduced a three-tier rating system under which locations based on the infection rates are assigned red, orange or yellow colours. With red notifying the highest rates and yellow being the lowest, different restrictions are placed on the production set based on what colour area the studio is located in.

Although filming has resumed, increased costs of sanitisation during the pandemic have led to small projects making up a large portion of ongoing productions. Bigger projects like Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel are in pre-production stage until the beginning of 2021.

Producers in New York can still benefit from a tax credit program to incentivise the creation of shows in the state. The program gives eligible production companies credit for 25 per cent of production costs. An additional 10 per cent credit is available in certain counties.

But Gotham soundstages such as Silvercup and Kaufman Astoria are reporting more bookings. And New York City is seeing such series as Blue Bloods, and new series The Equalizer, NBC’s Manifest and New Amsterdam, Showtime’s City on a Hill, and Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost back in the shooting process.

    California

In March, all approved projects under the California film and TV tax credit program requested force majeure, meaning that their status for receiving tax credits won’t be affected. Ten, including TV series The Orville, Animal Kingdom and Good Girls. The films include King Richard and Macbeth, have resumed production since June. But projects that had been disrupted by the pandemic are still working on stricter timelines.

    Greece

Although there was a sudden surge in the number of Covid2019 cases in Greece, which pushed it towards a second lockdown on 7 November, production has continued since early summer, with the government putting out safety protocols to ensure cameras continue to roll on despite the pandemic.

Woody Harrelson-starring Triangle of Sadness, directed by Oscar-nominee and Palme d’Or winner Ruben Östlund, wrapped its shoot on 13 November. The Lost Daughter, written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and starring Olivia Colman and Dakota Johnson, wrapped just days earlier. It is an adaptation of the Elena Ferrante novel.

The film commission and the ministry of culture have worked together to introduce strict guidelines for all film and TV shoots, while the Greek government this summer raised the cash rebate from 35 per cent to 40 per cent. A new 30 per cent tax relief for incoming film and TV productions has also been finalised, it can be used in combination with the rebate.

    Italy

Italy, initially hit hardest by the deadly pandemic, is responding to the second wave well with film and TV production churning out relatively more content with adherence to safety protocols and government incentives.

Culture minister Dario Franceschini has allotted a good sum of money to support production, upping resources to fund the Italian tax rebate from €400 million ($474 million) to $652 million for 2021; while raising the incentive’s cap from 30 per cent to 40 per cent of a local production’s budget (for international productions, Italy’s cash-back rebate remains capped at 30 per cent, which is still attractive). The tax rebate provided by the government is Italy’s main tool which has helped it to combat the rise in economic costs.

Meanwhile, Paramount’s Mission: Impossible 7 shot in Italy for several weeks in October and November.

    South Africa

After partially lifting travel restrictions in early October, South Africa is now fully open for business, with international film and TV productions resuming in time for the southern hemisphere. As the country went into semi-lockdown, shooting kicked off on the sets of Nudes, and Wild Bunch TV’s first Italian production.

The new guidelines allow entry for all foreign travellers who are tested Covid2019 negative within 72 hours of departure. Domestic production was given the green light as early as May, allowing the industry to prepare necessary health and safety measures for international shoots to return.

Moonlighting restarted production in early October and is currently in pre-production on an international TV series that will begin shooting early next year.

Recently, South Africa has emerged into one of the world’s leading hubs for international film and television shoots, with the help of financial incentives, skilled English-speaking crews and a spectacular range of locations. Foreign productions can claim a 25 per cent cash rebate on all qualifying local spend, while the rebate for South African co-productions starts at 35 per cent. For productions that meet the requirements for the emerging Black filmmakers incentive, the rebate rises to 50 per cent.

Recent projects that have started in the country include Good Omens, Bloodshot starring Vin Diesel, and Sony’s fantasy action film Monster Hunter.

  • Film shoots resume in Madhya Pradesh under Covid2019 norms

Film shoots resume in Madhya Pradesh under Covid2019 norms

MUMBAI: Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to permit film production post the unlock. The state is taking all necessary measures to ensure shooting takes place safely. The government has come out with a set of standard operating guiding principles that need to be followed at film sets and by the crew at all places where filming takes place.

Moreover, Madhya Pradesh is a predominantly Hindi speaking state, making it more viable and manageable for Bollywood movies. The availability of production facilities, line producers, artists, local crew etc, makes it much more economical to shoot in.

Till now, more than 200 projects including feature films, TV serial/series, TVCs and reality shows have been shot in Madhya Pradesh, such as Stree, Sui-Dhaga, Kalank, Manikarnika, Luka Chhupi, Padman, Toilet ek Prem Katha, Bajirao Mastani, Paan Singh Tomar, Lion, C, Aarakshan, and Raajneeti, to name a few.

Recently, actors like Anupam Kher and Bhumi Phednekar have wrapped up filming in Madhya Pradesh for their movies. And a few shoots with actor Vidya Balan are in the pipeline around the last week of November.

Anupam Kher said, “It is picture wrap for our movie #TheLastShow!! What an amazing, creatively satisfying and courageous journey it has been. We will miss this time together. But I think we have created something, the memories of which will last us for a lifetime. ‘Thank you’ is a small expression to express our gratitude. But we couldn’t have created this gem without the help of #MPGovt, local authorities and people of #Bhopal. Especially @mptourism dept. Jai Ho to you all.  #Film #PassionAndPaseenaFilms.”

Madhya Pradesh Tourism department is liable to coordinate with the different concerned departments for shoot permission on behalf of filmmakers. The state is working on a Film Tourism Policy to simplify the process of securing permission for shoots.

The vision of this policy is to make Madhya Pradesh a major filmmaking hub and generate a number of employment opportunities in the state.

MP tourism provides the following facilities to producers/directors:

    •      Dedicated film facilitation cell shall work as a nodal agency to ease out the shooting permissions through single window clearance system.

    •      Authentic shooting locations

    •      Film friendly authorities and strong government support

    •      Easy permissions

    •      Modern infrastructure and omnipresent hotels

    •      Favourable law and order condition

    •      Cost-effective infrastructure, crew, local talent and other skilful workforce

    •      Hindi speaking people, food/cuisine flexibility and ideal climate

    Comfort of filming in MP:

    ·        A dedicated online film web portal shall be created to provide a single-point interface and time bound clearance mechanism for filmmakers intending to shoot in Madhya Pradesh.

    ·        All the applications shall be received through online mode by the film facilitation cell and action shall be taken in coordination with the concerned department for permission.

    ·        The portal shall also act as a platform for information dissemination related to film tourism policy and shall also act as a forum for the dissemination and the rules, regulations, also provide information on grants and other utility services.

  • OTT platforms gear up to resume production

OTT platforms gear up to resume production

KOLKATA: The Covid2019 crisis struck India in March and the entertainment industry came to a standstill. While TV production resumed in July, shooting for film and original content remained on pause for a lot longer. The industry, which lost six months of valuable production time, is slowly limping back to sets and studios.

More people may have switched to over-the-top (OTT) platforms during the pandemic, but on the flip side, it has inflated the audience’s appetite for content. These streaming services have maintained a steady click of new releases so far but the constrain of shooting large scale projects is a major concern.

Experts predicted that the pandemic would affect the pipeline of long-format premium originals till the first half of FY22. Although most major players have resumed filming, no one is certain how soon full-fledged production will be back on track.

Netflix co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos said during the recent ET Global Business Summit Unwired 3.0 that getting back to production safely tops the organisation’s list of priorities. This, however, has been particularly challenging in India, he said.

    Read more news on OTT

Not surprising, considering the country is leading the highest number of daily positive cases; this problem is further compounded by the strict rules and guidelines imposed by the Maharashtra government on film production. But Netflix fans, fear not; more than ten Netflix India productions are scheduled to start in November.

    Desi OTTs

The homegrown players are also stepping up their efforts to keep the content flow alive. MX Player already has one show on the floor and will be pushing a few more projects into production by end of October, chief content officer Gautam Talwar said.

“Given the pandemic, audiences are spending more time online and OTT platforms including ours have seen a sharp increase in engagement, emerging as the preferred choice for content consumption. To cater to this rising demand, we’ve launched over 27 shows from March until now. We still have a couple of shows in the pipeline that we have shot which are currently in post-production; you should see those releasing over the next quarter,” Talwar added.

ALTBalaji has also resumed filming some of its shows with minimum staff and in restricted places with appropriate permissions. ALTBalaji CEO and Balaji Telefilms group COO Nachiket Pantvaidya assured that they are diligently following all the requisite standard operating procedures.

“We recently launched ten episodes of Bebaakee on ALTBalaji. Shooting is ongoing for the show and we will release more episodes soon. October onwards, audience will see a host of shows, including Mumbhai, Bicchoo Ka Khel, Dark 7 White, LSD, Who’s Your Daddy Season 2, Kahin to Milega to name a few,” Pantvaidya stated.

Amid regional players, Bengali OTT Hoichoi started production back in August since West Bengal initiated Unlock prior to most other states. Hoichoi co-founder Vishnu Mohta revealed that the platform has already completed shooting for seven projects. Two of the post-pandemic shows are already streaming on Hoichoi while others will be gradually made available to users.

    Despite production challenges, hope remains

Even as India’s Covid2019 tally is flirting with the 70 lakh-mark, stakeholders in every segment of the industry remain hopeful while adjusting to the new normal. Hoichoi’s Mohta said they are trying to restrict the shoots as much as possible to indoor locations, and make sure to sanitize the entire set very carefully before starting work. Despite all the constraints, things are looking up; it has become easier to get schedules and dates of famous actors and directors, he divulged.

ALTBalaji’s Pantvaidya admitted that since production has to abide by a number of precautionary measures, the work is going slower than before. Nevertheless, with shooting gradually resuming, he is optimistic that viewers will have a handful of shows to look forward to in the coming months.

A leading producer who wished to remain unnamed commented that safety measures and longer timelines are stretching already-limited production budgets.

Pantvaidya expressed the view that shooting at a full-fledged scale is still going to take some time due to the current situation. He said that the platform’s focus is making sure everything works out smoothly, with the safety of cast and crew being top priority.

“We’ve all started by putting our best foot forward – keeping in mind precautionary measures and complying with social distancing norms etc. To my mind, full-fledged production as of right now looks like it will only start by January 2021, when multiple shows can be put on the floor, hopefully without too much worry,” MX Player’s Talwar said.

  • Roadies Revolution resumes shoot in Mumbai

Roadies Revolution resumes shoot in Mumbai

MUMBAI: The seventeenth season of adventure reality show Roadies started earlier this year in Rishikesh and moved to Himachal just before the lockdown put a grinding halt on all outdoor shoots. However, with all the standard operating procedures issued by the I&B Ministry, the rest of the shoot of Roadies Revolution has resumed in Mumbai starting this month.

Cast and crew members, on the set, are strictly adhering to protocols starting from social distancing norms to sanitization. It is mandatory to wear masks, face shields and hand gloves. There is stay over facilities for contestants and crew. The contestants who are travelling for the show have been following the necessary quarantine procedures and will be stationed at one place from start to end of the shoot. Also, Covid2019 tests have been done for all the members on the set.

For an adventure show like Roadies, which requires intense on-ground activity, MTV is ensuring that all shooting locations are equipped with proper medical facilities including an ambulance that would be available on the set at all times. Instead of having a buffet system, all the contestants and crew will be provided with packed food, that would first run through a UV sterilizer.

The high-intensity tasks on the show will now be conducted in a safe environment under the supervision of professionals, specializing in safety, to ensure that all safety measures are implemented.

With a daily dose of action and drama, Roadies Revolution is keen on increasing the entertainment quotient for its fans. As the shooting has resumed, the show aims to raise awareness and prioritize safety and well-being to fight against the global pandemic.

Strict sanitisation procedure presumably began after Rapper Raftaar, who is one of the mentors on Roadies Revolution, along with Rannvijay Singha, Neha Dhupia, has informed that he has tested positive for the Covid2019. He shared the news on 9 September. Raftaar is currently home quarantined. "I wanted to give you an update. I had to go for Roadies and before that, I had to test for Covid2019. Two of my tests were negative, but the result which came today was positive. BMC has asked me to self-isolate," said Raftaar on his Instagram Story.
