Undoubtedly, they are the real heroes who dedicate themselves in shaping other’s life and create role models that we look up to. Extending gratitude for their commitment to shaping lives, Sony YAY! celebrates Teacher’s Day with the fourth edition of their marquee initiative, Heroes Behind the Heroes, by honouring the change-makers from different walks of life for their valuable contribution to the society.

    Building on the success of its previous editions, the much-acclaimed initiative has celebrated and honoured champions in the likes of Sania Mirza, Kailash Satyarthi, Subhash Ghai, Anupam Kher, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Mahavir Singh Phogat amongst others.

    This year, the channel acknowledges most legendary icons of education, tech, space-science, sports and entertainment industries.

    5.    Shilpa Shetty Kundra – An actor, fitness enthusiast and entrepreneur, she has been instrumental in fostering the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle amongst young parents and children

    Best Deal TV seeks out women entrepreneurs with #WeRespect campaign

    MUMBAI: Known for its celebrity brand endorsements, Best Deal TV was recently lauded for going ‘people first’ with its notable campaign on women empowerment. Best Deal TV now seeks out women entrepreneurs with the #WeRespect campaign Devised to shout out its new policy that offers women consumers to exclusively become its Direct Channel Agents (DCA), the campaign has already garnered a positive response.
    A DCA’s role is simple. “Their job is to book orders for us from our mobile app or paper catalogue. For every successful order best deal pays a commission to the agent. We will also handle the advertising training for the fulfilment of the order,” informs Best Deal TV, CEO Raj Kundra.
    Elaborating on the concept, Kundra says, “The idea was to empower women who were keen to create an income working from home or as a second job for further financial stability.” Given that the channel’s 70 per cent target group are women, the campaign can also surge up the viewership, Kundra feels.

    When asked how being a DCA for the channel would empower women, Kundra explains that the system works on simple commission basis.  “We pay very good commissions on each successful order and a DCA can build her army of sales personnel under her wing, making a commission even on their sales. The idea is with minimum headache to give maximum benefits to the DCA agents to become financially independent selling our exclusive and innovative products,” he adds.
    Having his wife and company shareholder, actress turned entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra as the face of the campaign also benefits greatly, Kundra admits. “Home shopping as a business runs on trust and credibility so having Someone like Shilpa and Akshay as faces and co-owners in the company makes a huge difference. Cricket and Bollywood are two things that help sell everything in India, and if used properly can be a winning combination, which is the founding thought behind our channel,” says Kundra.
    So far, Best Deal TV has released a TVC starring Shilpa Shetty Kundra titled ‘Women Empowerment’ which has garnered many queries. “The ad was made in house and conceptualised by our channel’s head Manish Dubey and executed by Nazar Abbas.,” Kundra says.

    Further explaining the channel’s marketing strategy, Kundra shares, “We have also done some targeted SMS blasts to our TG and we are using celebrity social media handles to get the message out there. We have allocated a sizeable budget to advertise in the market and create this model.”
    Besides OOH advertising, the channel is also looking at ground activation. “We will look at on ground activation. We have recently ties up with sheroes.in, India’s first female placement agency and have received many leads from them. We do talks at colleges on female empowerment NGO’s,” Kundra elaborates.
    It is interesting to note that while the campaign addresses women, the DCA offer is not restricted to the fairer sex alone. “We are not restricted to just women agents and the idea is to create a battalion of over 10,000 DCA’s across the country. Even if each books one order a day that’s 10,000 orders. My dependency on carriage of my channel is reduced,” Says Kundra further shedding light on his marketing strategy with this new initiative.

    NEW DELHI: The celebrity driven home shopping channel Best Deal TV, launched by Raj Kundra and Akshay Kumar, has associated with Sheroes.in to help connect women with their careers.

     

    The initiative was launched by Shilpa Shetty Kundra with an aim to support women wanting to earn money while working at their own convenience. The rapidly growing market has given women an opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills.

     

    Under this programme, women aspiring to be financially independent can enrol in their Direct Channel Agents Programme. An aspiring entrant will be required to invest a minimum of Rs 10,000 and will be provided the catalogues and demo videos.

    NEW DELHI: Bollywood actress turned producer Shilpa Shetty Kundra says: “I never thought that my first film will be an action-mystery. I always thought that if ever I make a film it would be a comedy or a love story. But I loved the script of Dishkiyaaoon so much that I wanted people to know the story “.

     

    Addressing a press meet here, she said “Harman Baweja and and Ayesha Khanna are both great actors and extremely good looking, so there is bound to be chemistry that shoots through the roof”.

     

    Releasing with the tagline “Aadmi bardha ho ya chhota, koi farak nahi pardhta bas uski kahani bardhi honi chahiye”, the film is about the story of two small men who are on their way to make it big in the world of crime. The story revolves around a gangster Viki Kartoos (Harman Baweja) and action man Lakwa (Sunny Deol).

     

    Actor Sunny Deol who is known for angry ‘avatars’ in Bollywood would be seen as a powerful man with a Haryanvi touch in the film. Harman Baweja would be seen as a gangster in the movie. Though from the first promos the movie looks like any other movie in the action crime genre, Deol’s ‘Haryanvi’ ‘avatar’ makes it different.

     

    Other cast includes Prashant Narayanan and Aditya Pancholi.  The film is directed by Sanamjit Singh Talwaar, the music is by Palash Muchhal. 

     

    Produced by Shilpa Shetty and Sunil Lulla, the film is slated for release on 28 March. The trailer of this Eros International and ESM film has already created a stir on the social media.

     

    Ayesha, stylist turned actress, was discovered by producer Shilpa Shetty Kundra and was initially very hesitant, but got a lot of encouragement from Harman. Ayesha said: “I would take a lot of advice from Harman. He was extremely sweet and patient with me and never once made me feel like I was a newcomer. It was great working with him and I did learn a lot from him and that shows on-screen”. Harman revealed that he had never felt Ayesha was a newcomer.

  • Rajasthan Royals collaborates with Provogue as ‘Official Fan Wear Partner’

    MUMBAI: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals announced the signing of leading fashion label Provogue as the team’s ‘Official Fan Wear Partner’ for the upcoming sixth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

    This is the franchise’s 16th partner. The earlier partner in this category was Puma and that was a four-year deal. The new deal is for a year. The franchise will also announce two more partners in the coming days. Rajasthan Royals and Provogue organised a fashion extravaganza to mark the association.

    Interestingly, one of the franchises co-owners Shilpa Shetty Kundra collaborated with the brand’s designers and has unveiled her creations for Provogue that are specially crafted for the franchises fan community. The collection aims to embody the best of suave and sophisticated yet youthful and fun dressing at the same time.

    Taking a break from their on-field performance, the entire Royals brigade including, Captain Rahul Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane, Shaun Tait, Brad Hogg and Kevon Cooper, walked the ramp displaying Provogue’s range of merchandise adding to the extant oomph factor.

    The high point of the evening for Provogue’s grand collection was Shetty sashaying down the ramp with panache in the fan wear designed by her. Provogue CEO Tim Eynon said, “We are very thrilled to be associated with a team like Rajasthan Royals as Official Fan Wear Partner for this season of the IPL. Tonight we‘ve showcased among the very best in our specially created Spring Summer 2013 collection and we’re sure fans will love the ensembles.     Rajasthan Royals CEO Raghu Iyer said, “Provogue saw that if the IPL was used at a price point there would be a business opportunity for a lifestyle brand like it. There will be a lot of on-the-ground activation in malls. The products will be available initially in Rajasthan, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, and contests will be organised. Provogue’s activities will result in the Rajasthan Royals brand name being hyped. The deal involves a licensing fee as well as revenue sharing. Our aim is to create meaningful connect and excitement with our fans which is how our licensing and merchandising business will grow.
