    Star-studded and purple-perfect, Zee Cine Awards rolls out fanfare first

    MUMBAI: It wasn’t just the stars who shone this time, the fans had the final curtain call. The 23rd Zee Cine Awards 2025, presented by Maruti Suzuki, turned Mumbai’s NSCI Dome into a pulsating celebration of Indian cinema, where fandom met flair and the purple carpet shimmered with both glamour and gratitude.

    This wasn’t your usual awards night. It was fantertainment, as Zee dubbed it, a grand ode not only to the cinematic hits of the past year but to the people who made them resonate: the audience. With a stage set for celebration, the night transformed into a carnival of charisma, dance, drama and dazzling recognition.

    The purple carpet looked straight out of a Bollywood dream. Kartik Aaryan oozed old-school charm in an all-grey ensemble, while Ananya Panday stunned in a crisp white saree. Rashmika Mandanna and Tamannaah Bhatia set the black-dress bar high, joined by head-turners like Sharvari, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vaani Kapoor, and Shanaya Kapoor. From Tiger Shroff’s street-smart swag to Bobby Deol’s white-suited flair, the fashion parade was nothing short of fabulous.

    And when the lights dimmed, the drama dialled up. Kartik kicked off the performances with Bhool Bhulaiyaa energy, while Ananya, Tamannaah, and Tiger kept the heat alive with high-octane dance numbers. Sharvari, Rasha Thadani, Jacqueline, and Vaani followed suit, bringing a fresh mix of grace and groove. The lively trio of Vikrant Massey, Aparshakti Khurana, and Ravi Kishan took hosting duties to entertaining new highs with sharp humour and seamless banter.

    But the night wasn’t just about razzle-dazzle. It was about recognition with heart, honouring not just the big names but also the behind-the-scenes powerhouses: directors, technicians, debutantes, and everyone who made magic on screen in 2024. And for the first time, the event truly acknowledged the power of the public those who clap, stream, binge, rewatch, and believe in cinema.

    The 23rd edition also delivered poignant moments: fan tributes, heartfelt speeches, and curtain calls that brought cinema’s emotional pulse to the forefront. In a world obsessed with box office numbers, this night was a reminder that cinema is, at its core, about connection.

    Mumbai: Zee5 has announced the digital premiere of ‘Vedaa, Samvidhan Ka Rakshak’ on 10 October. Directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, this action drama features John Abraham, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Ashish Vidyarthi. Inspired by real-life events, ‘Vedaa’ follows the journey of a Dalit girl and addresses caste-based injustices and crimes.

    The story centers on Major Abhimanyu Kanwar (John Abraham), a court-martialed army officer, whose path intersects with Vedaa (Sharvari), a determined Dalit woman seeking justice. Together, they confront societal challenges and oppressive forces, including the village chief (Abhishek Banerjee), who aims to silence them. As they uncover painful truths and fight for redemption, the film presents a narrative of courage and the pursuit of justice.

    Directed by Nikkhil Advani, ‘Vedaa, Samvidhan Ka Rakshak’ masterfully combines intense action with a poignant social message.

    YRF Talent appoints Kanupriya as head of talent film strategy

    Mumbai: YRF Talent, the boutique talent management firm that currently represents celebrities like Rani Mukerji, Anushka Sharma, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sharvari, Sonam Kapoor, Ahaan Panday and Vaani Kapoor to name a few, has appointed Kanupriya as head – talent film strategy.

    Kanupriya, ex-CEO of Colour Yellow Productions, has been a producer working in the Indian film industry for over 15 years. She is recognised for her notable contributions in producing films like Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Tumbbad, Manmarziyaan, Newton and many more. She has shown a strong interest in bringing unique and disruptive stories to life throughout her career.

    In this new role, Kanupriya will be heading the films division within YRF Talent and leading strategic relationships between artists and studios, producers, and platforms for the actors represented by YRF Talent.

    Mumbai: Global women’s fashion brand, bebe, has partnered with Myntra in India. The brand has also roped in young Bollywood diva, Sharvari, as its first brand ambassador in the country.

    Sharvari will endorse the autumn-winter collection and the ad campaign will be visible across regions and various mediums.

    The 34-seconds long ad film, titled ‘Be You’ showcases how bebe allows women to explore their real, fashionable selves and experiment with their fashion choices.

    The campaign will be promoted extensively across social media to reach the brand’s target audience, comprising largely of modern Indian women. The ad campaign highlights the new season collection, centered on the theme- ‘Be you’. The video campaign emphasizes on modern women who wish to be glamorous and bold in their fashion choices, while also expressing their individuality through fashion.

    Sharvari has made a promising start to her acting career with stunning performances in “Bunty Aur Babli 2” and The Forgotten Army.

    With her at the helm of brand promotions, bebe’s new campaign is set to build stronger brand salience with its shoppers and fashionistas across top metros and tier I cities.

    MUMBAI: Marking the launch of much-awaited Amazon Original Series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, Prime Video successfully created a Guinness World Record for The Largest Indian Cinematic Music Band with an iconic live performance of the show’s album. The evening saw 1000 musicians from across the country coming together to perform songs from the series’ album, composed by Pritam. The operatic musical recital served as a prelude, as the country gears up to celebrate its 70th Republic Day.

    Gaurav Gandhi, Director and Country General Manager, Amazon Prime Video India, said, “The Amazon Original Series The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, its music album and this live musical evening is our humble tribute to the Azad Hind Fauj. The show endeavors to bring back to public memory, the long forgotten sacrifice of the brave Indian National Army (INA) soldiers. Despite their valor, they became a foot-note in India’s Independence history. I vowed to tell their story to India and to the world. On the occasion of India’s 70th Republic day, the release of The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, is my attempt to take their story to the world. The album from the show, today’s musical serenade by the LIVE 1000 band, all capture the very spirit of the Azad Hind Fauj.”

    The LIVE 1000 brings together talented musicians from around the world on a journey that they will undertake together. Musicians performing at the concert, hail from cities across the country – Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Goa, Assam, Sikkim to name a few . Some artists have even joined in from other countries such as Kenya, Malaysia and UAE. In the band are also members who are visually impaired and differently abled, united by their passion for music. The performance features an interesting mix of varied influences with artists who are well-versed in multiple genres of music from POP, Jazz, Indian Classical, Rock to Metal and Folk. The band comprises of over six hundred and fifty vocalists, two hundred and fifty acoustic guitarists, eighty drummers and percussionists, fifteen performers on varied string instruments, five brass players, one electric guitarist, one bass guitarist, one keyboardist and two sitar players.

    The title track of Amazon Original The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye, has been composed by Pritam, featuring the soulful voices of Arijit Singh and Tushar Joshi with lyrics written by Shloke Lal and Kausar Munir.

    Created and Directed by Kabir Khan, The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye features Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari as leads and release on Amazon Prime Video on the 24th of January 2020.
