    George Kovoor named as SVP- beverages at PepsiCo India

    Mumbai: PepsiCo India has announced the promotion of George Kovoor as senior vice president (SVP) – beverages.

    He is a PepsiCo veteran, having completed 28 years with the company, in various operating roles across India, APAC, and China and most recently as SVP international, at PepsiCo’s global HQ in New York.  

    “Kovoor will be the GM for the beverage business and will also be responsible for creating the long-term sustainability strategy for both the foods and beverage categories,” said the company in a statement.

    Kovoor is known for his hands-on understanding of the business and commitment to developing talent and forging strong stakeholder partnerships. He will be relocating back to India after 18 years.

    Mumbai: Edtech company BYJU’S on Friday announced the appointment of Rachna Bahadur as the senior vice president to lead its global expansion plans.

    In her new role, Bahadur will lead the overall planning, strategy, and roadmap for BYJU’S expansion in new and existing markets. In addition to designing BYJU’S next growth phase, creating new partnerships, reinforcing sales, and solidifying the company’s market positioning across the globe, she will also be responsible for strengthening the footprint of BYJU’S recent acquisition of Epic in the US market, said the company in a statement.

    According to a statement, this appointment is a step towards strengthening BYJU’S leadership across verticals as the company aims to further build world-class products, teams, and partnerships. “Rachna is a leader with a proven track record. Her extensive knowledge, depth of experience, and core background in consumer product practice will prove a key asset to us,” stated BYJU’S chief people officer Pravin Prakash. “She will play a vital role in charting a high impact and high growth network for BYJU’S,  and we are pleased to welcome her on board and look forward to supporting her in this journey.”

    With over 15 years of experience, before joining BYJU’S, Bahadur was a partner at Bain & Company where she was a leader in the consumer product practice. She also co-led the ‘Women @ Bain’ India chapter which aims at creating an inclusive and gender non-conforming (GNC) environment for women to thrive in. At Bain, she has advised top Indian and MNC FMCGs on topics ranging across market entry, growth strategy, marketing, sales, M&A, and organisation design.

    Star India elevates Vaibhav Goyal to SVP – ad sales for sports

    Mumbai: Disney-owned Star India Network has elevated Vaibhav Goyal to Star Sports senior vice president – ad sales, as per his LinkedIn profile. Previously, he held the position of Star Sports vice president – ad sales, for 6.6 years.

    Goyal joined Star Sports as assistant manager and he was named assistant vice president – ad sales in July 2003. Prior to Star Sports, he was with GroupM India as planning manager for over three years.

    A qualified engineer from MITS – Gwalior, Goyal has completed his MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

    Mumbai: The Walt Disney Company has elevated Kaumudi Mahajan to the role of SVP – marketing and strategy for Marathi network.

    She has been associated with the media conglomerate for more than 13 years. In her previous role as vice president – head of marketing and content strategy for Star Pravah, she was responsible for the P&L, viewer engagement both above and below the line, driving availability of the channel in consumer homes and programming strategy.

    A post-graduate in marketing and communications from MICA, Mahajan has also worked as a programmer analyst with Syntel in the past.

    InMobi appoints Todd Rose as SVP, global business development

    Mumbai: InMobi on Wednesday announced the appointment of Todd Rose as senior vice president of global business development. He will be based out of San Francisco and report to InMobi Group co-founder and CEO, InMobi Marketing Cloud, Abhay Singhal.

    Rose joins InMobi to operationalise and accelerate a cohesive data and identity strategy, as well as expand strategic partnerships for clients to better leverage InMobi’s end-to-end advertising solutions to activate audiences, drive meaningful connections and ignite growth, said the company in a statement.

    “We’re thrilled to welcome Todd to lead our business development team, build on our growth and spearhead the next chapter of global expansion,” said Singhal. “Todd has deep domain expertise and rich relationships across the advertising ecosystem. He will play an integral role in defining and institutionalizing business development for InMobi, further advancing and expanding our strategy to address the market opportunities ahead.”  

    Previously, Rose worked for InMarket as chief business development officer. He also spearheaded agency holding company partnerships and led sales of GeoLink, InMarket’s real-time activation platform. Rose joined InMarket via the acquisition of NinthDecimal, a leading location intelligence platform, where he served in a similar capacity as part of the management team for eight years. He managed all platform and publisher partnerships and helped transition NinthDecimal from a Wi-Fi advertising network to a leader in mobile location intelligence.

    Earlier in his career, Rose led business development for YP / AT&T Interactive and had stints in management consulting with both McKinsey & Company and Marakon Associates.

    Sony Pictures Network promotes Aman Srivastava, Amogh Dusad

    MUMBAI:  Sony Pictures Network (SPN) has witnessed a flurry activity at senior positions of late. The latest movers in the hierarchy include for Aman Srivastava and Amogh Dusad who were elevated by the company. Srivastava has been promoted to senior vice president, head of marketing at Sony Entertainment Television (SET), while Dusad was handed a new responsibility as head of  digital products at SET.  Earlier Srivastava and Dusad occupied the roles of vice president, marketing and senior vice president and head – programming and content acquisition respectively.

    After a three-year stint as senior marketing manager at Sony, Srivastava joined Viacom 18 as associate director- international marketing. In 2013, he moved on from Viacom 18 as director- international business and syndication to join The Walt Disney Company as head of marketing, youth and movie channels. After almost three years in that role, Srivastava returned to SPN as Vice President Marketing.

    Srivastava has more than 14 years of experience in marketing, communication and new product development -brand management, research, activation, new product launch and content syndication. He has also lead brand to success in terms of profitability, Market share & Share of Mind. He has successfully conducted channel and product launches across geographies.

    Before joining Sony, Dusad worked with NDTV Imagine as director in strategic planning and research. He started his career as an associate director at TAM Media Research, working there for four years.

    Over a career spanning 15 years, Dusad has a demonstrated a history of working in leadership positions covering different facets of the broadcast media industry including content acquisition, creating partnerships with content creators, leading cross functional teams to drive business planning, ad revenue maximisation, consumer insight generation, spearheading initiatives towards digital and second screen engagement.

    MUMBAI: Sunny Saha today announced that he will step down as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Entertainment Networks, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. with effect from the end of February.

He has also continued to have strategic oversight of Turner’s kids businesses across the Asia Pacific region.
