    Twitter sacks slew of people across teams in India

    Mumbai: In another series of ‘Twitter’ events, billionaire Elon Musk has sacked a hefty number of people across the marketing and communications team of the social media group’s India office.

    Considering the slew of proceedings, Musk has been on a sacking spree with a firm intention to cut costs.

    Indiantelevision.com tried contacting a senior executive from the Twitter India team, but there was no response.

    In this chain, Twitter US senior director – global head of consumer product marketing Justin Taylor also revealed in a Tweet that today was his last day at the social media platform.  His tweet reads, “Today was my last day at Twitter. Proud of the work I did, and the people I worked with, especially my team. My DM’s are open for any new opportunities, but for now will take the weekend to appreciate what matters most, my family.”

    Musk, who took over Twitter last week, hasn’t spoken publicly about layoffs. As soon as he stepped foot in and purchased the social media firm for $44 billion, Musk has fired the people at the helm of the firm – CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal and head of legal affairs and policy Vijaya Gadde. Ever since, rumours have been rife that employees would be laid off from the company, and approximately 25 per cent to 75 per cent employees would lose their job, as per reports.

    Mistry joins Tilt with over 17 years of work experience across retail, market research and strategic planning at Reebok, Kantar, Millward Brown, FCB Ulka & Wunderman Thompson. Her stints with research and advertising were across HUL, Cavinkare, Marico, Kellogg’s, Nutralite, Castrol, Bajaj Auto, Reuters, Bank of Baroda, AMFI, and many more.

    “Purvi joins Tilt at a very exciting phase in our growth journey.     Mistry was also instrumental in launching Heinz as a brand in Indonesia. In her most recent assignment, she was associated with BBH as strategy director.

    Mumbai: Brand & communication consultancy Tilt Brand Solutions has appointed Sirish Suveer as senior director – business. In this role, Suveer will report to Tilt’s co-founder and chief business officer Rajiv Chatterjee.

    Mumbai: Affle’s Maas, the unified mobile user acquisition platform, has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of Sushant Tomar as senior director – India and Sharadh Manian as director of supply partnerships.

    Tomar will lead the expansion of Maas platform in India and help drive business growth for advertisers and Manian will lead global supply partnerships and drive strategic partnerships for Mass, said the company in a statement.

In his last stint at SVG Media – dentsu as director of business development, he was responsible for managing scaled-up global supply partnerships in programmatic and performance marketing. “With an unprecedented surge in digital adoption across the globe, I can’t imagine a more exciting time to join the Maas team.     Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari to move to US as senior director

    Mumbai: Twitter India managing director Manish Maheshwari has been moved to the US in a new role as senior director for revenue strategy and operations of the social media giant.

    According to media reports, Maheshwari will relocate to San Francisco and report to Twitter senior director for global strategy & operations, Deitra Mara. In his new role, Maheshwari will focus on new markets at the US-based microblogging site.

    Twitter vice president Japan and Asia Pacific, Yu Sasamoto, shared the development in a tweet. “Thank you to @manishm for your leadership of our Indian business over the past 2+ years. Congrats on your new US-based role in charge of revenue strategy and operations for new markets worldwide. Excited to see you lead this important growth opportunity for Twitter (sic),” Sasamoto wrote on Friday.
    Maheshwari had been in the news ever since he was summoned by the Ghaziabad Police under Section 41-A of the CrPC in June. The move follows Twitter’s frequent bitter tussles with the Indian government over the new social media rules.

    An FIR was registered against Maheshwari and some others in connection with a probe related to a video of an alleged hate crime that went viral on social media. Besides this, as MD of Twitter India, Maheshwari has been booked in a number of cases in several states.

    Before joining Twitter, Maheshwari was the CEO of Network18 digital. Previously, he has worked with companies like Flipkart, Intuit, P&G, McKinsey & Company.
