The campaign’s core objective, amplifying the recall value of #PrayforIndia and spreading its anthem, was masterfully strategised resulting in an engaging hook step that resonates with millions.

Additionally, this conceptualisation also roped in the brand’s brand ambassador Saurav Ganguly to be a part of the movement. The campaign strategy was pivotal in creating an array of social media assets around this collaboration such as posts to promote the giveaways and ensuring the campaign reached an extensive audience.

The campaign’s success is defined by the millions of views garnered across social media platforms. With a multitude of content forms, from animations to reels and vox-pop reels, the brand was able to resonate with the younger generation.

But the innovation didn’t stop there. It was elevated a step further by creating an AR filter, which offers users a chance to win an iPhone and Amazon vouchers. To capitalise on this, all one needs to do is engage with posts by these influencers or use the filter.

With the innovative strategies and engaging content formats employed, Cycle’s #PrayforIndia campaign took to new heights where they have gotten the whole country to engage with them through an age-old chant. BCCI postpones IPL until further notice

MUMBAI: The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, announced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the government extended the lockdown till 3 May,

IPL chief operating officer Hemang Amin informed all the franchise owners about the decision to cancel..

Media reports said that BCCI was likely to postpone IPL indefinitely following a conference call between the office-bearers. After the lock-down was extended, a conference call attended by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, secretary Jay Shah, and treasurer Arun Thakur, among others, was held to deliberate on the situation.

Earlier, the mega sporting event was called off until 15 April.

Star India, which broadcasts the IPL on its network as well as Hotstar, has invested heavily on the tournament broadcast. Star won the rights for the IPL from Sony in 2017 for a period of five years with a whopping $2.55 billion sum. With its huge reach of channels in various languages, the IPL has grown in the last two seasons. For now, the company has not commented on the impact this will have on its overall finances as well as the ad revenues it hoped to recover through the rich tournament.

IPL 2020 on the brink of cancellation

MUMBAI: As the pandemic Covid-19 keeps spreading unabated, the hope of even a delayed Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is fading away. Even as the BCCI has been tight-lipped about the richest cricket tournament in the world, a report in Indian Express says that the entire event is likely to be cancelled.

According to the newspaper, the BCCI is waiting for an official announcement from the government regarding visas. Since a chunk of the players come from foreign countries, the lack of international flights will be a barrier in getting them here. For now, the government has suspended all foreign visas till 15 April.

Currently, the country is on a 21-day lockdown till 15 April. Once the first phase of lockdown is called off, the BCCI will meet with the franchise owners to take a decision. According to Indian Express, there will be status quo on the auctions when the sport resumes next year. Initially, there was to be a mega-auction in 2021 which will not happen now.

The report, citing a source from the IPL administration, spoke of the worries of maintaining social distancing in the stadium. Rather than risk it, a suspension is the better option. With even the June Tokyo Olympics called off for this year, the IPL will not take any chances.

Until now, various authorities such as BCCI president Saurav Ganguly kept mentioning that the IPL may see a shorter version this year but would not be called off. The league was supposed to commence on 29 March.

Star India, which broadcasts the IPL on its network as well as Hotstar, has invested heavily on the tournament broadcast. Star won the rights for the IPL from Sony in 2017 for a period of five years with a whopping $2.55 billion sum. BCCI sweetens the pot for bidders of India rights

MUMBAI: In a move that seems to be aimed at luring big spenders from the broadcasting industry, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO Rahul Johri, at an event in Mumbai, announced that a detailed calendar of the Indian cricket team’s touring programme from 2019 to 2023 would be made available to the public. The announcement could come as a big relief for broadcasters that are planning to bid for the upcoming BCCI rights on 27 March 2018.

Johri said, “There is a four-year FTP (future tours programme) cycle that we follow. The BCCI has negotiated the FTP cycle for the Indian team from 2019 to 2023. For the first time, five years in advance, you’ll have a day-date wise calender of the Indian team’s programme.”

Dsport is not bidding for the rights in the upcoming online auction while Star India and Sony have their hands full with other leagues and tournament rights.

Recently, the BCCI also introduced central contracts for Indian cricketers. Two new categories were introduced: category A+ introduced for senior men and category C for senior women.

Speaking about the decision, Johri said: “We are proud that the Indian cricket team is the best in the world in all the formats. The women’s team reached the final of the World Cup, the U-19 team won the World Cup. So, we have to give them the best infrastructure and the best support.”

He added that the best part about the central contracts, which were announced earlier this week, was the focus on domestic cricket because that is the bedrock of the Indian cricket. “Until now, the domestic players would get the actual compensation after one-and-a-half-years. What has been done now is the match fee of the domestic cricketers has been raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 35,000 per day. And they get the match fee after playing the games. Domestic players’ earnings are not dependent on the number of games team India plays. That is where the change will come,” he added.
