    Nissan hires Abhishek Arora as director – DND-CQT & transformation

    Gurugram: Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) announced the appointment and role expansion of Abhishek Arora as director – Dealer Network Development and Customer Quality Training (DND-CQT), in addition to his current role as director – transformation & new projects, effective from 14 November 2024. In his new role, Abhishek will lead the brand’s channel development and management, driving strategic initiatives linked to network development and business to ensure Nissan is future ready for the upcoming products. His deep expertise in managing premium automotive networks is set to bring significant value to Nissan’s India CBU business, further strengthening its market presence.

    Abhishek had joined Nissan in September 2024 as director – transformation and new projects and was given interim charge of director – DNDCQT in October 2024. He will now lead the DND-CQT function full time and continue to manage transformation projects. In his previous role with Audi India, he led key functions such as network development, business management, sales training, and the used car business. Prior to Audi, Abhishek worked with General Motors, Tata Motors, and Honda Motorcycles, further enriching his expertise in channel sales, planning, and managing premium car networks.

    Nissan appoints Saurabh Vatsa as deputy managing director

    Mumbai: Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) has announced the appointment of Saurabh Vatsa as deputy managing director effective 15 January. Saurabh will report to managing director Rakesh Srivastava and will support in implementing the ongoing transformation roadmap for India as the company gets ready to deliver on the mid-term plan (MTP) and drive into our ambition 2030 goals. This appointment is reflective of the company’s transformation plan to meet the opportunities and challenges ahead for the automotive industry in India.

    Saurabh has joined Nissan from Stellantis where he was a member of the Stellantis leadership team and was spearheading the Citroen brand since its inception in India and was responsible for all aspects of the business as brand head. Prior to Stellantis, Saurabh worked with general motors (GM) for over two decades including long-term assignments in South Korea among several key leadership roles within the company.

    Saurabh comes with extensive experience across Asian markets along with deep knowledge of the automotive industry having worked within multiple strategic business functions such as product planning, program management, sales planning, marketing, communications and retail/commercial sales. Saurabh is a graduate of Delhi University, with an MBA from the International Management Institute and has completed an executive management program at the London Business School.

    Speaking on the appointment, Nissan India operations president Frank Torres said, “We are excited to onboard Saurabh at Nissan Motor India as deputy managing director at this crucial juncture for the company as we head into 2024. His appointment underpins our commitment to invest $600m (Rs 5300 crores) in India as part of the Alliance and introduce more products for the Indian consumer as part of the transformation plan. We are certain, the next phase of growth for Nissan is going to be exciting for all of us as we build on the success of the Nissan Magnite.”

    In this new role, he will support the leadership for Nissan’s transformation plan and prepare the company for its next phase as outlined by the company in 2023.

    Stellantis announces new brand heads for Citroën & Jeep in India

    Mumbai: After the announcement of Roland Bouchara as CEO & managing director for Stellantis in India earlier in April, the automaker giant on Thursday announced key leadership appointments for its operations in India. Saurabh Vatsa and Nipun J Mahajan will now be responsible for its Citroën brand and Jeep Brand in India, respectively. 

    Vatsa and Mahajan will report directly to Roland Bouchara and the newly integrated organisation structure is already effective from 7 June, said the company in a statement.

    Vatsa who is an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, had joined PSA in 2018 as senior director – marketing & corporate communications. He has been instrumental in devising and implementing the unique strategy for the launch of Citroën brand and C5 Aircross SUV in India. In his new role, Vatsa will be responsible for sales, marketing, aftersales, product planning & PR functions for Citroën in India.

    For the Jeep brand, Mahajan will be responsible for sales, marketing, aftersales, product planning & PR functions in India. He has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and has been with the Jeep brand for five years in the position of vice president, sales operations, and network development. Mahajan has been instrumental in launching the Jeep brand in India and achieving the 50,000 sales milestone for the Jeep Compass.
