    Sansad TV’s YouTube channel restored after alleged hacking attempt

    Mumbai: The YouTube channel of Sansad TV ran into trouble on Tuesday after its telecast was suspended due to an alleged hacking attempt. According to the statement issued by Sansad TV, the YouTube channel got compromised due to ‘unauthorised activities by some scamsters’ on 15 February at 1 am, which also affected its live-streaming.

    Viewers who tried to watch the streaming were greeted with a disclaimer from YouTube stating, “This account has been terminated for violating YouTube’s community guidelines”.

    However, the channel was restored later in the evening. “Sansad TV’s YouTube channel has been restored. You can get back to all your favourite programmes on the channel,” it announced on Twitter.

     

     

    According to a statement issued by Sansad TV earlier in the day, the channel name was also changed to ‘Ethereum’ by the attacker. “SansadTV’s social media team promptly worked on it and got the channel restored by early morning around 3:45 hrs,” it stated.

    Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in), the nodal agency for responding to cyber-security incidents in India had also reported the incident and alerted Sansad TV. Later on YouTube also started fixing the security threats permanently, the channel stated.

     

     

    The channel was launched by prime minister Narendra Modi in September last year after merging Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV, and shows the live streaming of the Parliament sessions.

    Sansad TV launched, PM Modi calls it a new chapter in India’s democratic system

    New Delhi: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched Sansad TV, highlighting it as another important chapter in India’s parliamentary system.

    The channel has been created by merging Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV and will be led by retired IAS officer Ravi Capoor who was appointed as the chief executive officer of the channel early this year.

    Launching it jointly with vice president M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Modi said it is very important that the common man connects with Parliament and feels he is part of it. 

    Addressing the event, the PM lauded the transformation of the channel associated with the Parliament in accordance with rapidly changing times, especially when the 21st century is bringing revolution through dialogue and communication.  

    “While it is said that ‘content is king, but in my experience ‘Content is Connect’ said PM Modi, adding that, when one has better content, people automatically engage with it. As much as this applies to the media, it is equally applicable to our parliamentary system as there is not only politics in Parliament, there is also policy. He emphasised that common people should feel the connect with the proceedings of the Parliament. He asked the new channel to work in that direction.

    Terming the launch of Sansad TV as a “new chapter in the story of Indian democracy”, Modi said, the country is getting a medium of communication and dialogue in the form of Sansad TV which will become a new voice of the nation’s democracy and people’s representative.

    Sansad TV is likely to have two channels, with Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha sessions telecast live on each. It will be available in Hindi and English.

    The two former entities, LS TV and RSTV were launched in 2006, and 2011 respectively.

    PM Modi to launch Sansad TV on 15 September: Report

    Mumbai: Sansad TV, a new channel created by merging the Lok Sabha TV and the Rajya Sabha TV, will be launched by prime minister Narendra Modi on September 15, according to a report by PTI.

    Along with PM Modi, the channel launch will be attended by vice president M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla at a function in the parliament building, said the report.

    Retired IAS officer and former textile ministry secretary Ravi Capoor has been appointed as chief executive officer of the channel while the joint secretary in the Lok Sabha secretariat Manoj Arora is the OSD.

    Congress leader Karan Singh, economist Bibek Debroy, Niti Aayog chief executive officer Amitabh Kant, and advocate Hemant Batra will host different shows on the channel.

    The content on the channel will cover subjects such as democratic ethos and institutions of the country. Karan Singh will host a show on different religions, Bibek Debroy on history and Amitabh Kant on ‘Transformation of India’, SAARCLAW vice president Batra will host a show on legal matters. Principal economic advisor to the finance ministry Sanjeev Sanyal will host a show on the economy and esteemed endocrinologist Dr Ambrish Mithai will moderate a show on health issues.

    When Parliament is in session, Sansad TV will have two channels that will broadcast the proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha simultaneously.
