    Affle appoints Vikas Katoch as national sales head

    MUMBAI: Digital media company Affle has appointed Vikas Katoch as national sales head. It has also roped in Prashant Kripps as head – publisher development and management for its soon-to-be launched new digital business unit.

    Both Katoch and Kripps move from Komli Media where they were working as national sales head-video advertising and national head for publisher groups respectively.

    Additionally, the agency has promoted Gaurav Pahwa as national sales head – mobile.

    Affle regional director business development Sankalp Mehrotra said, “We are very happy to welcome Vikas and Prashant to the Affle team. Given their robust experience in the digital industry, we look forward to exciting times ahead and achieving continued success. I am equally pleased to announce Gaurav‘s promotion to head mobile ad sales in India.     Kripps added, “I am very excited to be part of Affle at this time of rapid growth and expansion. Over the last few years I have worked across traditional & digital media and find the growth happening in mobile and some of the other digital advertising domains very fascinating. I am looking forward to contributing towards creating much greater success in Affle‘

    Katoch comes in with over 12 years of digital sales and marketing experience in companies like Jivox, Hungama, IT Nation and Asian Paints.

    Kripps also brings in over 12 years of experience across television, print, OOH and digital media in companies like Times, HT Media, Media2Win and GroupM Mindshare.

    Pahwa had joined Affle last year from Network18 and has since played a very key role in driving Affle‘s mobile advertising sales effort forward, the company said.

    Affle, Samsung launch ‘Cricket Hub’ ad campaign on the net

    NEW DELHI: Cashing in on the IPL fever beginning to grip the country, the leading Asian mobile media company Affle has tied up with Samsung Mobile to launch ‘The Cricket Hub’ – a mobile marketing campaign for Samsung’s new Omnia W phone.

    As part of this campaign, Affle has created a branded mobile cricket destination (m.thecrickethub.com) on which cricket fans can access unprecedented and unique cricket content delivered within an innovative Samsung Omnia W Windows Phone experience.

    The content is being created exclusively by Affle and its partners and includes various off-the-field facts, trivia, news bites, live score and exciting contests.

    The user experience is designed such that users when accessing ‘The Cricket Hub’ will experience it in Samsung Windows interface highlighting key product features of the Windows style design, which includes User Interface being built on the “Live Tiles” concept.

The integration of concepts like “Spotlight”, “My Hub”, “Avatar Stories”, “Live Score”, “Leadboard” and blending of the Windows experience with sticky content are some of the salient features of the platform, which will encourage users to engage with the brand in a simulated environment.
