  • Samsung launches advanced ‘E Series’ of mobile handsets

    MUMBAI: Samsung India has launched three new models of its advanced E-series of camera mobile phones in the Indian market namely – E730, E-530 and E-880, priced between Rs 14,099 and Rs 16,449.
     
    E-730: With a 262K TFT LCD display, this compact folder phone is equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel camera with Flash, MP3 Player, External Music key, Stereo FM Radio and Speakerphone with Voice Clarity Function. The unique feature of this triband, GPRS phone is its ability to print directly via blue tooth, eliminating the need for a cable. Weighing only 88 g, the phone has a capacity of recording for an hour, 1000×5 phone book memory, 90 MB user memory and seven language menu – Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati and Kannada. It is priced at Rs 16,449.

    E-530: The E-530, with a mega pixel camera and an inbuilt flash has a 4X Digital Zoom function and one hour video recording capability. It is equipped with a 90 MB memory, MP3 Player, Bluetooth and SyncML DS Connectivity. This GPRS phone has a 262K colour internal TFT screen and a 65,000 Colour External OLED Screen. This model too has seven language menu and 64 polyphonic ring tones and is priced at Rs 15,299.
     
    E-880: This soft touch, slide up phone has a semi-automatic, 1.0 megapixel camera with a one-hour video recording functionality. The triband phone, which is priced at Rs 14099, comes with a 90 MB memory, Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 Player, 64 polyphonic/MP3 Ringtones and a 1000×5 phone book memory. A unique plug in speaker is also provided with the set.

    The E530 and E880 support a unique video wallpaper function, which allows the user to even record his/her own personal video and set it as wallpaper.

    “The new E-series are targeted both at professionals and high life seekers who are looking at innovative features and stylish looks,” says Samsung director-telecom H C Ryu.

    With the introduction of the new E-series, Samsung now has a range of 14 mobile phones, priced in the range of Rs 3399 to Rs 18,699.

     

  • Samsung launches online promotion campaign for Note PCs

    MUMBAI: Samsung India has initiated an online marketing campaign for the promotion of its lifestyle-focussed ‘X Series’ of Note PCs. Launched on 11 April, this month-long viral marketing programme is being undertaken in association with leading websites and email-service providers – Yahoo, MSN and Rediff.
     
     
    Based on the tie-up, MSN messenger bar and all Yahoo and Rediff email signatures will carry live Samsung Note PC banners that take them through a demo run and a contest.

     
     
    The contest participants get a chance to win a Samsung Note PC. As part of this promotion, special newsletters are being sent to over two million Yahoo and Rediff subscribers, and pop-up ads have been placed on relevant high-profile websites that are frequented by target clientele. Another feature of the campaign is the Samsung Note PC screensaver that is being circulated in a big way and demonstrates the features and power of Samsung Note PCs.

     
     
    “We are not only focusing on our Note PC dealers for the generation of sales enquiries, but also reaching out to our IT-savvy target consumers directly through this online campaign. We are also seeking to introduce the power and functionality of Samsung Note PCs to more consumers through this campaign,” said Samsung India country product manager (Note PC) Ramanjeet Singh.

    All Samsung note PCs are equipped with the latest technology that enables the users to put them to any task ranging from office productivity to Net surfing, to making his own home movies.

  • Samsung launches ‘AnyFilms.net’; offering short films for mobile users

    MUMBAI: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a leading telecommunication systems and handset provider has launched the opening of a new web site ‘AnyFilms.net’ offering a series of unique short films for mobile and internet users.

     

     
    The site — http://www.anyfilms.net features a short film series, which can be viewed online as well as can be downloaded to certain Samsung mobile phones that support video playback.

     
     
    The films are composed of two stories directed by young, ambitious Hollywood film directors, states an official release. The executive producer of the films is Jon Kilik, whose film Broken Flowers recently won the Grand Prix at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.

    Across the Hall, directed by Alex Merkin, is a two-part story about a man trying to prevent his friend from doing something rash with his fiance, who he believes is cheating on him.

    GiGi, directed by Mark Dippe, is about a sheepish guy who improves his social skills through the aid of a mysterious phone with an alluring female voice.

     
     
    In addition to the short film series, AnyFilms.net also offers an innovative entertainment experience called Interactive Films. Through this interactive films users can become their own producers by tailoring content through multiple combinations of plot, style and mood.

    As the leader in mobile multimedia technology, Samsung created AnyFilms.net to push the envelope of mobile and multimedia entertainment. “As mobile phones become the multimedia hub for communications and entertainment, mobile content is becoming more and more important,” said Samsung Electronics Telecommunication Network Business VP Daniel Chung .

    He added, “The production of AnyFilms and its unique introduction through the website demonstrate the future of anytime, anywhere entertainment. As a leader of mobile phone technology, Samsung will continuously provide our users with futuristic multimedia experiences.”

    The website and films are now available for viewing online. Users will be able to download the films and special wallpapers to mobile phones beginning on 24 December, 2005 in the UK. Support for additional countries will be added beginning in January 2006.

     

  • Samsung launches ‘Ek Size Bada Milega Kya’ promotion offer on colour televisions

    MUMBAI: Catching in on cricket World Cup fever, digital technology leader Samsung India has unveiled its special colour television promotion offers called ‘Ek Size Bada Milega Kya’.

    This scheme, which offers assured gifts or an attractive upgrade offer with select Samsung 21″ and 29″ Slim TV or Flat TV models, is available pan India, between 7 March and 21 April. “The basic idea behind this promotion is to give consumers a chance to move up the value chain and enjoy the benefits of a larger screen TV or a Slim TV without paying the additional differential,” states R Zutshi, Dy managing director, Samsung India.

    The company is also making available triple zero per finance offer and 5% cash back offer on its entire LCD range during the Promotion period.

    Samsung also boosted its Slim TV offering in the month of February by launching the World’s Slimmest Flat TV – the Ultra SlimFitTM TV in the Indian market.

    Samsung claims to be the market leader in the flat panel (LCD and Plasma) television market in India.

  • Samsung launches mega channel promo – ‘Power of 3’

    MUMBAI: Samsung has announced the launch of their biggest-ever channel promotion called Samsung Power of 3, which seeks to reward system integrators (SI) all across the country.

    The programme is valid on all Samsung Color Monitor, HDD and OMS products purchases made by SI partners and looks to incentivise the SI Partners and offer greater value on purchase of Samsung products.

     

     
    The programme is valid for a period of eight weeks – from 11 July to 17 September and has a mega bumper prize of a Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Santro Xing to be given away.
     
     
    Also, gifts worth Rs 70 million will be given away by the company as part of the promotions. The gifts that can be redeemed on the basis of the points collected range from Hyundai Santro Xing / Maruti Omni car to Samsung’s leading technology products like 54” Projection TVs, 29” DNIe TVs, Samsung 1.5 T Split AC, Samsung frost free refrigerators to motor cycles, mobiles and Titan watches.
     
     
    As part of the scheme, Samsung has packaged its color monitors, HDD and OMS products in ‘Bundles’. This entitles the SI partners to earn points basis individual products purchased as well as a special additional discount of 20 per cent when bought on a single invoice as a Bundle. The SI Partner simply needs to collect point’s basis his purchases from Samsung Star Elite Partners only.

    To qualify for participation in this Scheme, the SI Partner needs to purchase only three ‘Bundles’ from Samsung Star Elite Partners between 11 and 24 July.

    Also, the incentive for participating in the ‘Qualifier Round’ is a Hyundai Santro, which will be given to the SI partner basis a lucky draw to be announced within a fortnight of the closing date of participation.

    Samsung India general manager (IT) Harry Ahn said, “We are targeting a significant jump in our IT business in Q3 over Q2 and Samsung Power of 3 program is a strong tool to help us grow our business and strengthen our relationship with the SI partners.”

    The company will be supporting the ‘Samsung Power of 3’ program with an aggressive advertising campaign in print media.
